Over the years I had made about 12k bottles of moonshine however I haven't sold that much I've sold about half of that Giving me something along the lines of 600k gold. This money was used to upgrade the house and other small things.
I had upgraded my kitchen with professional grade items. Expensive pots and pans and cooking utensils. Top tier stove, chopping boards, a full walk in freezer for large food storage. I know I could use the multi tool and I still do but I also like to have the ability to show off nice things.
I had a medicine room built near the herb garden I told you guys about. I added a medicine making room added on with proper ventilation and cauldrons electric scales for measuring ingredients jade vials for long term storage of pills and potions. Beakers and vials with gas burners to make creams and rubs. Just a nice fully stocked alchemy room.
Then I built myself a multi use workshop. This was a bit away from the house as I would be using this to modify my undead, build new items, and add new workstations as they come along. I had electric pumps for liquid infusion and other uses. Proper lighting and surgery beds as stone tables and torch light makes it much harder to do detailed work. Proper vats to mix the chemicals I need for better quality products.
I didn't want it near the house as dead bodies can still smell funny and I cook food in the house, we can't have corpses there.
The rest of the money was spent on loads of alchemy materials to practice while I was learning. Alchemy is an absolute fucking money pit in the early stages, well at least when pill making is involved. The amount of herbs and monster materials I burned or ruined or turned into garbage was insane.
The herb garden couldn't keep up with herb usage so I had to buy bulk from the school.
The only other things that got upgraded was the fruits. My wine grapes had come in and I was producing a like 6 bottles of wine a run these were all stored in the cellar as wine is better aged. I could make new spiced wine I learned in cooking class. I was also working on other fruit wine. I had 6 years and in that time I planted a nice orchard. There were apple trees, peach trees, coconut trees, banana trees, all sorts of different fruit trees sorted into rows. This added new flavors to the moonshine and new drinks I could make. I love apple juice man I don't even drink booze.
I had about 100k gold left but that was being saved.
Now everyone probably wants to know about my new classes.
This semester I would be taking metallurgy. It was basically black smithing but there were other lessons added into it. Ore identification, where to find it, how to properly mine it, how to forge it, what metals work better when combined, how to properly quench metal in oils or other liquids to make them stronger. How to use chemicals to get rid of more impurities. Proper hammer techniques. Sanding and shining metal. Casting with moulds. Metal repair for weapons and armor. There was so much to learn.
All this would come in quite useful. My zombies needed weapons, Armor, Special metal plates in their bodies and it was just so much cheaper to make them yourself with raw materials.
I could buy iron weapons cheaply from the system store but armor sets where much more expensive. I'd rather spend all that money on a small foundry and forge and make steel. Then grind out my own weapons and armor. But to do that I'd need to learn basic forging.
After 6 months of intense learning in forging I got my blacksmith certification stamped onto my metal plate which was looking very nice.
This was all the side job classes currently available.
What I would be learning next was a bit different.
Standing in front of a our group was a man in knights armor.
"Welcome to basic boot camp." he shouted over the rows of people.
"For the next 6 months we are going to turn your scrawny little assess into proper soldiers. Right now you are all graduates of the academy and therefore in the kingdom have the rank of corporal. The only thing lower than you in the army are privates. However your still just basic little shits whose job it is to kiss the assess of the higher ups and do what your fucking told." he shouts out. "After this little vacation you'll be bigger shits with a rank of sergeant. Here you will be learning the basic chain of command proper army procedures. How to more effectively survive on the battlefield. Proper military combat techniques for hand to hand, sword fighting, and daggers."
"Next to each of you is a suit of iron armor. You will be running in this, sleeping in this, maintenance on it and your training weapons, Training in this and even in some cases sleeping in this." he shouts as we look at the lumps of metal armor next to us.
"On the other side you have a basic combat training knife, basic combat training sword, your new military knapsack filled with survival gear. If you are at any point found without any of these items on your person or not well maintained you will be punished do I make myself clear?"
"Yes sir!" everyone shouts.
"Now get your assess in gear I want you fitted and ready in 5 minutes move it." he shouts.
Everyone scrambles and puts on their armor, then backpack and straps in their knife and sword.
"Good now we will be doing a 15 mile run to the training site anyone left behind can fuck off I don't need wimps in my army." he shouts before running off ahead of us with us quickly following him.
