Chapter 48 - Meeting of Two Title Holders

Winter and his party were the first to exit the cage. It was hard for the others to leave because they were so intimidated by Spring-Autumn's presence. Even when they were so far away, they could smell a thick layer of blood on him. It didn't help that he was surrounded by lizard people corpses.

Spring-Autumn had his sights on Dam who was behind Winter. Dam shuddered when he felt Spring-Autumn's gaze on him. It was for a brief moment and the gaze went elsewhere.

Recruiting people was like fishing. You had to let out the bait and patiently wait for the target to bite. As such, Spring-Autumn no longer paid any attention to Dam.

After the first group of people exited the cage, the rest quickly followed suit. Soon, everyone was out of the cage.

"You should lead them out," Spring-Autumn told Winter.

Winter nodded as if to tell him that such words were not needed. It was a fast process to gather the [Users] with broken spirits. The last thing they wanted was to stay in this place.

Now that Spring-Autumn showcased his power to all, many looked to him in a new light. There were many that couldn't stop giving him glances.

Rosane, Rocklet, Brame, Dam, other party leaders.

Spring-Autumn didn't know what they were thinking so he simply ignored it.

Soon, the lizard den was cleared of people.

When the last wave of [Users] was leaving, Loti stealthily left his rock and joined in. He didn't want anything to do with the scary man with green eyes.

"Now… Where's that sword?" Spring-Autumn thought. He was referring to the [Suppression Sword]

He stood in front of the fire. There was certainly something special about it. It could take sacrifices and also deliver blessings.

His face heated up when he stood in front of it. He reached his arms forward into the flame. It was a warm feeling but his hand didn't burn up.

"Maybe I can go inside?"

He put one leg into the pit of fire. It was warm. Without thinking too much, he entered the pit of fire.

Silence.

In the lizard den, there was no sound. There were no lizard people left. The shacks were left unhoused. The only source of life was the gigantic fire pit in the middle.

Outside the [Suppression Tomb], the [Users] of Diamond City finally came out. A few weak-spirited [Users] kneeled down and kissed the ground, crying tears of joy. They had never been so close to death before. They had to praise their good fortunes for making it out alive.

At this moment, the grass rustled and a figure jumped out.

It was a werewolf that was doubled the size of a man. There were black wisps constantly circling around this wolf. Its red eyes were filled with various emotions that one could not understand. Its body was muscular and tall. The strange thing was that it appeared to be wearing a patient's gown.

A suffocating pressure fell on those who just exited the dungeon. They all internally cursed inside. They had just escaped death and now they had to face a powerhouse monster?

Winter stepped forward. There was a strange look to his face. The wolf doesn't have a blue window? Typically all monsters would have a blue window that showed its race.

A swirl of light gathered in Winter's hand. It was almost pitch black in color with an archaic design. In his hand was the [Suppression Sword]!

This was what he was going to use to escape the lizard den. He didn't have the opportunity to test its might earlier but now he was given the perfect opportunity to do so.

The suffocating pressure on Diamond City [Users] disappeared. The pressure from the [Suppression Sword] had counteracted the pressure from the werewolf.

A deep voice of relief leaked out of the werewolf at this moment, "People?"

The voice was full of exhaustion. The figure of the werewolf began to shrink. Its dark hair retracted back. In its place was a young man. This young man was Shadow.

"Eh?" Winter was shocked. He quickly recovered and issued an order, "Take him in!"

He was always looking for a chance to expand his party. The pressure emitted from Shadow earlier was suffocating. If he could rope him over to his side…

Meanwhile, Spring-Autumn was transported to a different place. It was still a cave but there were magma and lava everywhere. Dripping from the ceiling, flowing across the ground.

It was like a scene from hell.

Scree!!

A firebird appeared in the distance. Just from the sound alone ruptured the organs of Spring-Autumn. He coughed out a mouthful of blood.

"What's with this difficulty spike?"

He hurriedly rushed back into the flame where he came from. After using [One as Before] he rushed out of the dungeon. There was some lingering fear in his heart for the bird. He had a feeling that he might very well die instantly if it attacked him directly.

Outside the dungeon, there was no one around.

It was the same rocky terrain with the only source of light being the portal. Around the rocky terrain was the tall grassy terrain.

At this moment, the grass rustled. A man with green hair and eyes walked out. He was wearing a lab coat and there was a slight smirk on his face.

Spring-Autumn and the chief made eye contact and a voice leaked out of their throat at the same time, "Huh?"

For the first time, they saw a blue window above another human.

In Spring-Autumn's vision, he could see a blue window above the chief. [Genius of a Generation]

In the chief's vision, he could see a blue window above the young man before him. [The First Awakened].
