Chapter 15 - Unicorn

It was a nice day.

The sun was up, the clouds were flowing and the air was fresh. An elegant figure gently strutted across a lake.

Its figure was pure white with a mane so beautiful it would take the breath of anyone. On its head, a single horn pointed straight at the sky, demanding attention from all. It was a beautiful unicorn that could walk on water.

Far away, a figure hid within a bush. He had bright green eyes, like the most beautiful pearl of the ocean along with an ash-like brown hair. This man wore a tattered dress shirt that exposed his muscular body.

Chewing on a flower petal, he intently observed the strangely beautiful creature.

Spring-Autumn believed that was an art of stalking. One must be as stealthy as a cat, and as discreet as a rock on the street. Hide so well, others think you are a part of their surroundings. He chuckled strangely as he continued to observe the unicorn.

After the unicorn had its fill of water, it came back to the meadow, by the bush Spring-Autumn was hiding in.

With a flick of a wrist, Spring-Autumn tossed out his precious food flower.

"Come to me!"

The unicorn sniffed the air and began walking towards the flower. With another sniff, it gobbled up the food flower.

"Hnnng!"

It made a sound that neither a human nor a horse would make.

Spring-Autumn was excited that it gave such a reaction. He tossed out more of his precious food source.

And as expected, the unicorn ate it up.

Slurp slurp, "Hnnng!"

It took another step closer to the bush Spring-Autumn was in. Within his hand, he held a blunt stick. The strength of this stick could not be underestimated. He painstakingly broke it off of one of the gigantic trees.

However, the sounds from the unicorn were making him strangely uncomfortable. Scratching his head, he tossed more flowers. This was no different from luring a child with candy, he thought.

"Hnnng! Hnng!"

It took a step closer and the unicorn made more strange noises.

This unicorn might be retarded?"

Spring-Autumn quickly dismissed such rude thoughts and threw out more flowers.

"Hnng! Hnng! Hnng!"

The unicorn suddenly made the weird noise nonstop. It sniffed the air powerfully, its nostrils enlarging to a size that made it look ugly.

"Hnng!"

Spring-Autumn suddenly had a strange premonition as the unicorn faced him, its nostrils right in front of his face. Before his eyes, he could see small petals of flowers stuck deep in the nose of the unicorn!

Apparently, the unicorn was so inept at eating food that all the flowers it swallowed went into the wrong hole!

"Hnnnng!"

With one last strange noise that Spring-Autumn now knew the reason behind, it sucked in a deep breath of air. The surrounding space contorted and everything in its surroundings began to be sucked into its nose. This included the leaves that hid Spring-Autumn's body.

As small leaves and fallen tree branches began to get sucked into the nose of the unicorn, it roared in pain. A particular branch was stuck in one of the enlarged nostrils, causing it to be gaping.

With an angry roar, it finally jumped and let out a sneeze that was akin to a cannon. All the objects that were sucked in earlier were practically the cannonballs to this cannon.

To Spring-Autumn's horror, the direction of this sneeze was precisely in his direction!

With no time to react, he was blown away to who knows where. The last thing he saw was a bunch of clumped up dirt, leaves, and tree branches that were covered in thick, slimy mucus.

After a long while, Spring-Autumn came to be. It was already night time and he was still in a forest.

His mind was groggy and his body was in pain. When he recalled how he managed to be in this position, his eyes lit up in anger!

He was normally one that was always calm. Even after getting kicked out by the underground base, he was more annoyed than mad. However, this one was completely different. He was just minding his own business as an aspiring voyeur but was blown away by a big snot.

His face paled in disgust as he felt the sticky liquid around him. All he could see was the underside of trees and the big moon in the sky. When he tried to lift himself up, his entire body was electrocuted by pain.

Unable to control himself, he coughed up a mouthful of blood. He laid back down on his back, his eyes focused on the moon.

"Am I going to die here?"

When he asked himself such a question, he was suddenly annoyed. He has always thought that he was not one to cling onto life too much despite all his attempts for survival so far. He thought when it came to it when he was near death, he would not mind so much.

When he was humiliated for being a bastard child, he did not mind very much.

When he was kicked out of the family because of his birth, he did not mind very much.

When he had to move to another country because he did not want to stay near his "family", he did not mind very much.

He thought that when it came to death, it would be the same as before. He thought he would simply just go: I don't mind.

His mind wandered back to when he first escaped the aquarium. He thought he did it because he saw the future beforehand and because it was easy to escape. But now he realized it was because he wanted to live.

He recalled all the other instances and his mind shook.

I don't want to die!

With a determined face, he sunk his hands into the ground. It was the only part that could move without much pain.

It was something he never thought he would do. Observing his surroundings, he began to painstakingly crawl to a tree.

It was another mistake on his part to think that his power would make him invincible. He was still far too weak. He did not know anything about this new world. However, he now had an unshaken desire to live on and explore this world where he could die from a simple sneeze.
