Luna was stuck inside her huge bedroom. She dug her face into the maroon-colored pillows that stack upon each other. Her heart was still trembling slightly from the event that had happened earlier and was thinking that her peaceful days had just ended.
'Ahhhh, now I have to train and plan seriously for the Magic Academy!' Luna thought.
With Luna's carefree plans, it would not be a guarantee if she could graduate in less than a year. A thought out plan would be the best.
But for now, she wanted to enjoy her last free hours lazying around in her bed. She did nothing for that past few hours and finally stood up with her crumpled dress and disheveled long black hair.
'Okay, I have to be productive now,' she thought.
Luna combed her hair with remorse. She couldn't help but be unproductive right now. Her sudden use of magic earlier possibly made her like this or it was just her mindless reasoning to cover up for her laziness.
Then she went downstairs and went to the kitchen for dinner. The nicely-cooked food seemed bland and her hands picked up the silver spoon and fork in an uninterested manner. Usually, she would fill her plate with extra food but she only finished the small amount of food placed on her round ceramic plate.
The other seemed quiet also. Irene and Erik were tired from their magic practice and didn't speak one bit and the usual chatterbox, Ryle, was especially quiet as if he knew that no one would bother with him tonight.
Although, Miss Zione and Akiro were still the same quiet people.
All of them left with just small nods to each other after eating and went back to their businesses.
That night, Luna lit up both her white and golden flames with two hands. It illuminated her huge dim bedroom. There were candles around but it had brought very small light as if they were urging the guests to stay asleep in the nighttime.
However, Luna didn't throw the white flames as it would destroy her whole bedroom. She just planned to practice handling it with better control than usual.
"Fire can be made with fuel, heat, and the air around us. It can also be made from lightning. The lightning that touched the wood can create a decent amount of fire," Luna thought.
When she thought about it, the man he read in the book that had used the lightning element could have fire as a magic element and accidentally stumble upon how the streak of lightning was able to create fire. A natural phenomenon that seemed to inspire the intelligent man.
It was a speculation she made that could possibly be the truth but many possibilities could happen and she lacked information for now.
The age in Vermillion was very far from the information age where anyone could easily gather thousands of knowledge upon a single subject.
For now, Luna practiced controlling her fire-magic based on her knowledge that she believed to be true.
'Everything is made up of small particles. With magic, I can increase and decrease the amount of it to control the explosion. Furthermore, a fire could appear from different chemicals that are inside some powerful weapons. Converting it to magic, I can make a fire spell that can equal a nuclear bomb or an even weaker bomb. The former can be out of my list as it's too dangerous,' Luna thought.
The white flames in her left hands seemed to follow her words. Its magic became denser but it had lesser magic consumption compared to earlier. The composition of its small particles was stronger than its original composition thus conserving more magic.
Luna dissipated it before she would be attempted to try how strong the flame would be.
It's like energy but Luna didn't relate them too much as it would be too complicated to apply in real life.
Magic seemed to disregard logical reasons and responds to how people experiment and believed in it as such, there would always be variations except if a huge mass of people believe in structured magic laws and rules for many years that were further improved near perfection as it grows.
While her mind sunk into deep thoughts, she shaped her right hand like a gun and called a small amount of white flame. She wondered if it could be fired like a gun.
Luna's eyes twinkled upon her brilliant idea. It was certain that no one in Vermillion, to what she had read at least, had thought of firing it like a gun. The weapons that existed here were old-types weapons that wouldn't stand that much chance in a gun.
Although she didn't plan to make one, applying it in magic would be nice.
Looking towards the curtained window, she thought if she could fire it outside but many people in the mansion would be disturbed.
Because of that, Luna removed the small blazing white fire in her index finger and sat in the corner of her bed. She badly wanted to try it tomorrow. Since she couldn't try it for the time being, she played around with her golden flames instead.
Unconsciously, her hands formed into a gun that quickly made her stand up from her bed.
'Right! My golden flames are harmless. For now, I want to test the speed,' she thought.
Luna started to shape her hands like a gun and called a small amount of golden flames. It was healing-based fire magic but it's still fire. Its composition was the same as a normal fire but it turned into a healing one when it touched a thing.
With that, she fired it to a wall on the left side of her room. The golden flames traveled with great speed that seemed as fast as a bullet though it didn't release any sound.
The tiny golden flames disappeared after it targetted the wall. As Luna anticipated, her theory was somewhat true.
With this good arsenal, she could fire a heal without a wand and fire another one with white flames for an offense. The wand seemed to have limited speed and distance compared to a gun. Her hands would be enough. Furthermore, she wouldn't even need to speak a single word that would catch her enemy off guard.
Many spells didn't need a chant especially one's special spells since a person already has full visuals and understanding of it.
But it's a different case regarding healing magic as it's treated as a complex subject that many didn't understand.
Luna was somehow thankful that she earned something that can be helpful to a person other than only knowing how to destroy them. She wasn't being a saintess but instead thinking from her life experiences. There were many persons that continued to destroy her life on Earth daily and it's certainly not a good experience.
She removed her thoughts about her past and started to rest.
Regaining all her knowledge was all she could do for this night. Luna went towards her bed and sunk her head into one of the pillows.
Despite her long sleep earlier, Luna wanted to sleep again for the whole night. Tomorrow would be a busy day for her and the following days would also be.
The Magic Academy would soon open for new students and she didn't want to waste her already short time. Thinking of ideas would bring her great leaps into the near future. She would show them how powerful and ruthless she could be.
A person of her caliber shouldn't be underestimated.
Luna continued her thoughts as deep as the abyss until her drowsy eyes closed and her mind traveled into her dreams.
