"I can practically see the oxygen emitting from the trees," Malva pop her right eye open to find Claec before her.
"It's water, Love," The liquid then burst into thin air, seeping back into the mist of trees surrounding them. She sat crisscross on the damp forest floor right in the middle of a spacious clearing. The morning sun was just rising over the tree tops above.
Claec step forward to offer her his hand, "What are you doing up so early," he question, pulling Malva to her feet.
She rest her forehead against his chest with a long sigh, "Wanted to relieve some stress."
"Was the talk that bad?"
"You have no idea," I chuckled.
I can feel him smile above me as silence overtook him for a moment, "does he know about this?"
I tilt my head up with a raised eyebrow, "what?"
"That you come out and practice controlling your powers?"
My wolf look to him heavily at the strain tone of our mate's voice. I look away towards the green vegetation that engulf the clearing. This has become my secret spot where I do come to test my control. When I first discover these abilities to practically bend anything to my will, I was afraid. Afraid of myself. I soon had to work on controlling my anger because it alone cause a disastrous spark. It was when I almost blew down the pack house in the process of my first shift; that Alpha Shade had the pack doctor, Handes, find a way to help center my powers. He constructed those pills to not only keep away the darkness, but it helps compress my powers as well. I'm still wondering if bottling my true potential is actually what's good for me or not.
But nevertheless, My beast and I agreed that we should work to control the power we got. We've been working on myself for about a year now and has improved greatly. Claec was right, Alpha Shade doesn't have a clue at what I'm doing out here; and if he did I'll probably get another lecture for disobeying his orders.
"I ran it by him," I mislead slightly, pulling away from him.
"And what did he say?" Claec continue to press.
I look to him with curiosity, "yesterday I was told that I haven't been doing my job as the future Beta."
Claec raised a questioning eyebrow, "Who told you that? Alpha Shade?"
I cross my arms over my chest with a subtle nod, "Yeah, they basically told me I'm acting more Alpha than Beta. Which they were not wrong about..." pausing with a secretive smile.
It was never a secret to anyone who was the strongest out of the two of us. But it sucks, when you feel like you're only being use for your father's own good and not the pack. Shade has the Alpha roll set on it being Ash and doesn't seem to want to change his mine.
"It just hard to control sometimes," I finally let out with a sigh.
"How about you go talk to Alpha Shade about all of this without Ash there."
I let out a long sigh reaching to intertwine his hands in mine, "maybe, but for now, we should go get clean up and help Luna Mist with the preparation for the pack meeting."
"That also reminds me to tell you, we are in charge of escorting all the new members to there new homes," he groans, pulling me to his side while we make our way out the clearing.
"Sounds like a Betas job."
Twenty minutes later I sat down next to Luna Mist filling out paperwork on the new members. My mother was the female leader of this pack, the glue that holds it together. She was in charge of every pack member and the meetings that involved them. Luna Mist was a strong beautiful she wolf in her skin and fur. Her long french grey hair was always stylishly maintained and perfect. She was gifted with model like features like a sharp pointed nose and pretty luscious natural lips. Ash has received most of her best features from our mother.
Where's I? Don't know.
"I hear that you and Ash did well on the providing ground today," Luna Mist smiles looking up from the paperwork to me.
"Yeah, it was nice to finally tear into some fresh meat," I comment with a sly smile, "didn't end well on the same terms sadly."
"Also what I heard," she frowns, "did you and Ash speak since the misunderstanding?"
"Yeah, we had a talk with dad. I've been made aware of my recent actions of stepping over my boundaries as future Beta to Ash."
Luna Mist frown instantly return to it's original smile at my words, "great, Malva. It's not long until you and Ash take your place as leaders of the Darkwolves. You guys have to work as one, and when you start allowing your sister full control you'll become unstoppable."
It's starting to become a pattern of everyone telling me I'm over stepping my authority. I don't know if my version of being a Beta is different from everyone's else or is everyone's version different from my own? It's probably time that I actually take in my father's words and try to lay off my Alpha power and hone into my Beta position. I know Ash loves this pack as much as I do, and she'll have they're best interests in mind all the time. It's just up to me to help and assist her at every turn.
"Yeah, mom. I get it," I sighed giving her a solid nod.
"Perfect," she grins before gathering up the papers.
"Ready to go house some new Darkwolves?" Calec questions in my ear out of nowhere.
I turn in my seat to look at him with a humorous smile, "of course."
"You got everything set up for the meeting tonight right," Luna Mist ask Calec with a raise brow.
"As you ordered, Luna."
"Great, I'll see you guys later on tonight," she sent us a genuine smile before turning to leave.
"Later, Luna Mist," we respond in unison.
I turn to Calec fully and wrap my arms around his waist, "I'm really glad you're back."
"What's gotten into you?" he smiles with questioning eyes.
"You, my dear mate, will help me channel in my inner Beta."
