Chapter 22 - There Is a Saying that Misfortune Never Came Alone

Ye Tongtong's crisp voice loomed in the room. "The second female lead role has to belong to Tang Xia, or else you'll bear the consequences."

After threatening him, Ye Tongtong dashed towards An Mu, and asked, "An Mu, are you okay? He didn't hurt you right?"

An Mu's face became tense because Ye Tongtong just revealed her name.

She glanced over at Feng Xiao from the corner of her eyes.

He only stopped for a moment before walking toward the door.

As if… He did not care?

An Mu's heart felt a sense of joy.

Then, Ye Tongtong destroyed her good mood once again.

"Damn! I never thought that this Manager Sun was so handsome! An Mu, if you were to be taught the unspoken rules, it's not a loss either! When I dashed in earlier, the both of you were staring at each other so lovingly as if you were about to kiss. I thought I interrupted your show!"

"..." An Mu did not say a word.

'Which eyes of yours saw that we were staring at each other lovingly?'

'Which eyes of yours saw that we were about to kiss?!'

'By the way, Tongtong, can't you speak after this man has left entirely?'

An Mu did not even dare to look at the man's facial expression.

She lowered her head. Once the door was closed, she finally raised her head again, and exclaimed, "Ye Tongtong!"

Ye Tongtong reached out, and asked, "An Mu, was I cool earlier? Ha! Now this Manager Sun wouldn't dare refuse to cast you as the second female lead!"

She looked so extremely excited that An Mu swallowed the words in her mouth down to her throat.

Sometimes… Ignorance is bliss!

An Mu knew that she might lose the second female lead role, so she went straight home and took a nap.

The concentrated alcohol from the vodka took its toll.

By the time she woke up, she realized that she was late for class!

An Mu prayed that the professor would not sign their attendance, but…

There was a saying that misfortune never came alone [1].

While An Mu was cleaning herself, she received a call from her tutor.

"An Mu, you're only in year one but how could you have skipped so many classes in your first semester already?!"

An Mu tried to use a pitiful, weak, and hoarse sounding voice, and said, "Professor Wu, I— Cough! I'm sick, I..."

"Sick? Let me have a look at your semester. You were sick eighteen times, and you had five relatives pass away! Adding up with all the other courses, you only had your attendance taken a mere 23 times!"

An Mu was in awe. For students, their professors were like the sharpest monsters! Quick to catch mistakes.

She quickly changed her tone and begged, "Professor Wu, I'm wrong. I promise not to skip class anymore!"

"Your letters of guarantee are stacking up on my office desk already!"

"Professor Wu, this will definitely be the last time..."

"Are you from C City?" Professor Wu interrupted her.

An Mu's heart raced. "Professor Wu, yes, I..."

"That's good. Ask your guardian to come to school the day after."

"Professor Wu, I guarantee not to skip any class anymore. I..."

"An Mu, I've heard about your background. Your guardians are the Feng family right? Do you need me to contact them in person, or can you ask them yourself?"

"..."

The professor hung up on her.

An Mu laid on the bed bitterly.

She was staring up at the white ceiling, and her mood felt extremely terrible.

Ask the Feng family to come over to school?

Ha!

They would definitely mock her.

She was already so used to those mockings but she had to come up with an explanation for her attendance. If they became skeptical, they might accelerate dissolving the An family fortunes.
