She would've been okay if she hadn't mentioned "and also," but once she did, Yang Danning got even more annoyed. "Bullshit, you screwed up my chance. I'm not involving you in anything next time," she snapped.
Ji Anning frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"
"How sick are you, really?" Yang Danning complained furiously. "Couldn't you have just endured it? After all, you're his niece-in-law. When you say you're not feeling well, how can he, as the younger uncle, be at ease?"
Listening to her, Ji Anning was still lost. She looked ahead for any empty taxis, and her gaze inadvertently caught sight of a familiar tall figure rushing out of the bespoke tailor shop.
Now she understood what Yang Danning meant.
Feeling guilty, she said, "Danning, I'm sorry."
