It was a lovely sunset and Bobo was there thinking. Thinking of mama and the stories she would tell." There! There you see. See the places to be. Past the sun and through the hills lies a wonder to be seen. It's a beautiful land with flowers always blooming, a crystal clear lake and a big oak tree. There you'll see, Over yonder."
"Over yonder. Over yonder!, cried the little fox."Mama I've been there. Past the hills. And all you see is darkness, nothing more." Bobo slumped her head in disappointment.
"Oh mama. Why would you leave me here with nothing but a fairytale to give me hope?"
The only hope Bobo had was in that story. A story that constantly haunts her thoughts.
Before she knew it, night had come. Bobo's little outburst had made her exhausted. Just as Bobo was about to head home, Lily had come up to check on her." How's it going Bobo. Are you done venting on top of the hill." Bobo made a soft smile, a smile Lily hadn't seen in a long time, " I was just... just getting some things off my mind." Bobo's response made Lily worried, but she tried to lighten the mood.
" You know, with all this worrying you make me do, I could get gray hair." Bobo laughs," With all that white fur, who'd be able to tell?" "Um, muah of course", Lily responded. Just as Bobo was about to speak Leo showed up and said," What are you two still doing here?! We have to get back to the village soon."
Lily signed and said," Alright Mr. Grumpy pants, we were just about to leave, right Bobo!"
"Yeah!" Bobo said in response. "We were already going."
"Alrighty then", Leo said. "Let's go."
As the three friends walked down the hill Bobo couldn't help but think about how something didn't feel right to her.
The closer they got, the more uneasy she felt. It felt as if they'd be walking right into a disaster. She wanted to talk to Lily about it, but thought she would say that she was just being paranoid. So, she tried to ignore it.
They finally reached the village, but something was off. Before they entered there was a distinct smell some nauseating sweetness, or if someone was burning leather. This made Bobo even more worried then she already was.
What was that smell?
