Chapter 22 - Chapter 021 - The Deserts of Sharuud

"So you're telling me, you were "benevolently" let go by this Janitor guy. And now you're bickering over which name he recommended you should take after abandoning the territory we explicitly told you to guard?..." A cold voice asked as if he couldn't comprehend the level of stupidity the three buffoons in front of him had.

"I-It wasn't our fault, honest!" Wally pleaded as he sweated buckets in front of the cold voice.

"Y-Yeah, that guy had them crazy psycho eyes and everythin'!" E.E. tried to stick up for his bro Wally.

Sadly the trio's pleas were only met with even more anger as the man with a cold voice said:

"Beat up these fools"

"W-Wait! Please, have mercy!" Barry, the tall alien thug pleaded.

Sadly their pleas fell on deaf ears.

*Cough Cough!* Zaldros woke up again covered in sand and dust as he was captured by the small aliens wearing black thongs on their heads called a Shikal, while he was shackled to a four humped camel's leg being dragged on the sandy and rough ground.

[How...] Zaldros thought. How could the strongest existence in the Erebos Galaxy, even titled as the Doom of Erebos, get captured by the weak and small aliens.

Zaldros could remember all too well what had just happened.

He was about to make short work of the foolish weaklings in front of him but then it suddenly turned night and all his conserved energy was immediately used up.

Zaldros didn't take into account the weird structure of the solar system the planet he was on belonged to. He didn't know that on the desert planet he stepped on, day and night could change at any moment.

"Ughhhh, can we like stop for a moment?..." Zaldros groaned. He wanted to conserve the energy inside him to escape, sadly the small aliens just didn't stop to rest and Zaldros was forced to use all the energy he had saved up during the nights.

This continued for 3 days...

"Ohh, the Shikal still hasn't died despite not being fed. Maybe he's one of those weird aliens who don't eat. Hm-hm, very weird" One of the small aliens wearing a keffiyeh (Male Arabian headdress) like cloth he wore as a turban.

[You're the weird alien!] Zaldros retorted in his mind, too tired to talk physically.

"Huh, for what he did to the Shikal he's lucky we didn't kill him slowly... I have never been so personally humiliated like that..." Another one of the weird aliens started to tear-up, he was even more affected by Zaldros' actions because he was the one who gave Zaldros the shikal.

"It's alright, brother, once he meets with the Queen she will be sure to punish him dearly!" Another one of them comforted the teary-eyed alien.

"UGHH! Meeting the Queen face to face might be an even worse punishment for him..." The teary-eyed alien began to shiver, almost puking as he remembered the time he saw the Queen's face.

The other smaller aliens just nodded as they sympathized with the teary-eyed alien.

[What? Why was their Queen so feared???] Zaldros questioned as his interest peaked.

But the small aliens no longer talked about the Queen as if it was some kind of taboo topic...

Zaldros continued to get dragged through the desert day and night. Lucky for him the four small aliens weren't as heartless as they were in the beginning and gave him some food from their already limited rations.

*Grumble* "Are you sure there's no more?" Zaldros asked as his stomach growled.

*Grumble Grumble* "Don't complain, we're as hungry as you are..." The small aliens explained as their stomachs also grumbled.

Zaldros and the desert aliens continued their journey.

Zaldros was so tired that he thought he was gonna collapse any time soon, but then their group stopped when another alien who was suspiciously familiar to Zaldros.

An alien that looked like a combination of a mantis and a cockroach that had darkish brown chitin exoskeleton that made him suitable for sneaking and espionage was right in front of Zaldros' group. And due to the cockroach-like body he had, he was also very durable and could withstand his body getting crushed at least 9 times giving the illusion that he had 9 lives.

Yes, the alien in front of them was a Scythid. And not just any random old Scythid...

[I-Is that who I think it is?! That asshole! He still has the limited edition Geneva bodypillow! Why if I get my hands on him, I'll strangulate him!] Zaldrus muttered. Salty that he didn't get the limited edition bodypillow despite his hard work and dedication, gambling away half a million Zills...

Zills or Zillon was the Octagrad's official currency.

The alien in front of them was one of the Scythid Zaldros will never forget. No, it wasn't Kymer the Invisible One, Zaldros' general that lead the Scythid...

No, it was Zaldros' old friend Clear Voiced Barry holding Zaldros' precious Geneva body pillow.

[Kuh... So this is how Ntr feels like...] Zaldros cried in pain while looking at the body pillow that was dirty with sand.

*Ting* A sharp glimmer flashed behind Jade as she quickly dodged to the side, narrowly escaping the camouflaged beast's claw that tore down on her.

"Ha!" Jade shouted while quickly counteracting the claw and piercing the hidden beast with her Glaive.

*Dying Growls* The beast let out a muffled roar as it slowly died due to Jade's Glaive piercing its heart.

*Plop* Jade's legs quickly collapsed due to the fatigue she had felt.

But after a while, she immediately got back up and started to skin the gigantic bipedal lizard with big horns and even larger claws, sighing at how lucky she had been.

Jade had just consumed all of the entrenched minigun's ammo she had painstakingly rationed. Now she was forced to fight the beasts melee on melee.

It was hard but Jade eventually became better and better at it. But sadly she wasn't very confident in keeping on fighting the beasts that kept on attacking her base.

"It's like they're endless..." Jade sighed anxiously.

[Mom...] Jade thought subconsciously.

Jade missed her mom dearly... Not the same could be said for her father though...
