Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 Offended the Stanlight Guild

His feet carried him through the wind. His feet barely touching the grass. The breeze was cool and the night was quiet. They arrived at the secret entrance and was let in.

Even though Nitro said that he was perfectly fine, Arnos still carried him in a princess carry to the medical center. Then he said his goodbyes and went back to the carnival to check on Spyro and Colin.

He needed to make sure that they weren't in any trouble or anything especially after what had happened with Nitro.

He arrived at the place and went to search for his friends. His eyes sweeped the crowd but there was no sign of them. He kept looking, eventually he grew restless and worried so he started asking around.

The only other logical place on where they could be had to be the Stanlight Guild stall. So he went over there to check, surely enough he saw Colin and Spyro arguing about something.

"Hey guys! What are you doing?"

They both saw Arnos and shook their heads.

"Bad news, one of the Stanlight Guild members convinced their person in charge to challenge Colin to a duel."

"What's so bad about it?"

"It's..." Spyro paused and Colin finished his sentence.

"A life or death duel. It continues until one is so badly hurt or even dead. No matter what happens the loser, they'd surely be crippled for life."

"What did you do???" Arnos asked, he was gone for like 10-15 minutes and this happens while he is gone.

"I'm not sure, I did not do anything but clearly they have something against us. We some how 'offended' them."

"Tsk, what a bunch of bastards. Cowardly, bastards. When is the duel?"

"Tommorow, just before lunch. They invited us to their guild for the match."

"What if they play dirty?"

"Don't worry, I'll beat them and make them lose face."

"Let's forget about that for now, sigh. How much time do we have left before we need to go?"

"Well, about 20 minutes."

"Let's play some carnival games to finish off!" Spyro suggested while trying to lighten the mood a little.

Their faces brightened up and they forgot about their problems for that moment and went to check out some games.

They first went to a ring toss. Spyro was especially good at it for some reason and won a big prize. Colin on the other hand failed miserably and stood there defeated.

"Cheer up Colin! At least I won this prize for us to share!"

"Yeah right, says the one who like, aced this game." Colin muttered under his breath.

They went to the next game and played a bit more. Until the time came and they had to get going. The night was a lot of fun but they were exhausted from all the fun and games as well as the drama that had happened. It was time to call it a day.

Arnos sat in his room, he had just showered and gotten changed. His brain wasn't functioning properly. His head hurt a lot for some weird reason and he immediately passed out a few minutes later.

He had a vision. Not one of his brother but one of the next day's match with the Stanlight Guild. But the vision didn't help at all because it was blurry the entire time. Then the vision faded and he fell into a light slumber.

Arnos woke up to the sound of footsteps outside his door. He checked the time and got dressed. He opened the door to see Spyro pacing back and forth.

"What's wrong?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes.

"It's about the match today. Yesterday Colin told Hunter about it all. Hunter's going to come watch with a bunch of other people in our guild."

"Sooooooo, what's wrong?"

"Colin is versing..." Spyro paused, he wasn't sure if he should continue.

"One of Stanlights Top 10.... Also a High Elite."

"Hahaha, you're worried about that. I have faith in Colin."

"Yeah I do too but the thing is..."

"Guys it's time to depart!"

"Oh. I'll tell you later."

They boarded on the ride that the other guild had sent for them. They did not know how they knew where their guild was and this made Hunter suspect that there was a traitor but they would deal with that later.

Hours later they arrived inside the Stanlight Guild's hide out. Just like it was said, everyone was good looking males. Some growled at them, others snickered, some felt pity. They all had one thing in common. They were not afraid of them. They couldn't take them seriously.

"Ah, welcome, welcome." A broad, young looking man stared intently at them with a fake smile.

"So who's the contender?" He grinned wickedly.

Colin stood forward, the man looked at him up and down and shook his head.

"I am the Stanlight Co-Leader. Marcos." Some people were surprised to hear that this guy was not the leader but in fact, second in command.

"Hello, I'm Hunter, The Leader of SoundlessSolemn Guild."

The man didn't take him seriously and yawned. He didn't even shake his hand. The disrespect made some people feel mad and uneasy.

They arrived at a seating place in the arena. Colin was told to prepare, their guy had already been well prepared and was standing on his side of the arena.

The man was of average height, probably a bit older or younger than Colin. He looked mature and proud. He showed no hint of arrogance like the many people they saw today. In fact he did not seem confident at all.

Colin's opponent was James. Colin was a Double Wielder and James was a knight. Arnos of course was very familiar with the knight mastery. He was just afraid that James might be a master swordsman.

Colin sharpened the new blades that he had bought. His mind was full of thoughts but he was not a tad bit worried. He felt relieved that it wasn't some really big guy. He put on an artifact that helped him and was ready.

'I can do this. Breathe in and breathe out. Calm down. Colin.' He thought to himself.

Colin stood on his end while James stood on his end. James seemed surprised at his opponent's mastery and almost broke his calm demeanor. Controlling himself he still kept his stature. They were waiting for the announcement.

The crowd was very excited even though they were sure that James would obviously win. Excitement and tenseness grew everywhere.

Meanwhile at Marcos's seating post.

"What were the boys thinking? Challenging this newbie. It's like we're bullying them!" Marcos laughed heartily with his mates.

"Yeah! That's probably why Guild Leader isn't here."

"Dude. He never comes anyways."

"Shush guys, it's about to start."
