Chapter 64 - What is Wrong With You?

Calder looked up at Lady Britille's tear stained face and furrowed his brows. "Why would you think something happened to me?" He asked point blank causing Lady Britille's tears to stop in their track. "Brother!" Esai called out as he stopped beside Syria. Calder couldn't help but frown when the two stood beside each other.

They looked good together, too good. Calder brought up his hand and Esai immediately helped him up. "You have egg on your head." Calder said bitterly. "And you were on your hands and knees." Esai said back as he looked Calder over. "That was because I was in the middle of something and then someone had to ruin the moment!" Calder hissed under his breath.

"Oh!" Esai gasped and glanced back at Syria. He then looked at Calder and smirked as he wrapped his arm around Calder's shoulder. "I didn't think were the submissive type." He whispered into Calder's ear. Calder turned red from anger. "It's not like that!" Calder replied through gritted teeth as he pointed an accusing finger into his brother's face.

"Calder did you forget something?" Nana Gi called out as she tapped her right foot against the floor. "Sh*t! The ingredients!" Calder said under his breath as he paled. "No Nana Gi! I'm doing it now with Esai's help." Calder said happily as he broke out into a nervous sweet. He then took Esai's hand tried to run away. "Oh no you don't! I don't need another mess in this kitchen again!" Nana Gi said as she stormed towards the boys.

Calder and Esai froze in place. They bothe turned their gazes towards Nana Gi's direction and paled. She was heading towards and they didn't know what to do. Syria elegantly stepped in front of the boys, blocking Nana Gi's path.

"Nana Gi I'm sorry! Cal-his Highness was telling me about the cleaning fairy and got distracted. So it's my fault the ingredients are not here. Please let... his Highness get the ingredients now, I can help him too if you like." Syria said humbly as she curtsied to Nana Gi.

Nana Gi stopped in her tracks and looked at Syria then the boys. "Why should I?" She asked as she moved forward. "Please?" Syria asked as she lowered her curtsy. Nana Gi was surprised and stopped her war march. "I'll give him another chance." Nana Gi said slowly.

Syria let out a small sigh and lifted her gaze. "Thank you." She said softly. "But you will have to pay the price for the time extension." Nana Gi said coldly causing Calder to release Esai's hand and reach out for Syria. "No," He started to say but Syria was quicker. "I'll gladly pay anything." Syria replied causing Calder to stop in his tracks.

"Good girl." Nana Gi said. Syria raised herself from the curtsy and gave Nana Gi a smile before turning around. "You should go get the ingredients."

Calder stormed out of the room and quickly raced towards the storage room. He was furious and didn't know what he should do to relieve his anger. He raised his leg and thought of kicking open the door but then remembered that he shouldn't break it. The staff might blame him and not let him use the kitchen again.

"F*CK!" He yelled as he yanked products from the shelves. He couldn't figure out why Syria would do something like that, he was ready to take a beating from Nana Gi but Syria had to block her. Calder stopped moving and dropped his gaze to his feet. "She was so cool." He mumbled. In his past and present life no woman ever stood up for him like that. He could have easily taken the blame, she had no reason to step in and say something but she did.

Calder looked at the stock and sighed. He grabbed what he needed and raced back to the kitchen. When he entered the room it was cold and silent. He looked around and everyone was gone, except Nana Gi. "Nana Gi, what happened?" Calder asked as he placed the newly acquired ingredients onto the countertop. "His Majesty was called away. Some sort of emergency meeting." Nana Gi said as she gave Calder a pat on the arm.

"So everyone else left? I wasn't gone that long it took me," Calder said as he looked up at the clock on the kitchen wall. "10 minutes exactly." He continued Nana Gi gave him a bittersweet smile. "In that 10 minutes everything went to hell...." Nana Gi replied. "What do you mean?" Calder asked. "The young lady," Nana Gi started but was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Your Highness?" Lady Britille called as she cautiously opened the door. Calder was confused. He furrowed his brows as he stared at her. "Lady Britill-umph?!" Calder said but he couldn't finish his sentence. In a span of a second Lady Britille rushed forward and slammed her small body into his chest. "Your Highness!" Lady Britille cried. Calder suddenly became flustered he didn't know what to do so he just grabbed Lady Britille's shoulders and pushed her back slightly.

"Your Highness, how can you be so cruel?" Lady Britille sobbed. Calder's jaw dropped then he looked at Nana GI for help. Nana Gi shook her head no. "Don't forget our deal." Nana Gi sighed before she moved to pack her things. "I won't forget! I'll just come with you now!" Calder shouted as he let go out Lady Britille and rushed to grab Nana Gi's basket. "Your Highness! Are you going to leave me alone like this?!" Lady Britille sobbed as she threw herself onto Calder's back.

"What is wrong with you?!" Calder shouted as his whole body broke out into goosebumps. "How can you leave me alone?" Lady Britille asked. Calder looked back cautiously and let out an awkward laugh. "I don't know what you're talking about." Calder replied. "You sent my lady in waiting away." Lady Britille replied.

Calder furrowed his brows and stepped away but Lady Britille clung to his clothes like a fly to cow manure. "Get off." Calder said coldly and Lady Britille instantly removed herself. Calder turned to Lady Britille and gave her a stern glare. "Veronica was severely injured and needs to recuperate. I sent her home with pay and compensation so she could heal up from third degree burns. If you find that unreasonable say so now." He said in threatening tone.

Lady Britille didn't understand his meaning and literally took his words as they came. She stepped forward with her small fists against her chin, tears streaming from her face as her petite body trembled. "Who will be taking care of me now?" She asked as she batted her butterfly like lashes. Calder groaned as he brought up his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose.
