Chapter 31 - You Need To Seduce Him Part 1 *** Reader Discretion is Advised***

Lady Bane gasped as the guards and soldiers coughed at the awkwardness. Calder had walked out with messy hair and clothes. His shirt was completely unbuttoned and he was showing off his amazingly chiseled body.

There were even a few scratch marks and his face was slightly flushed. "Our apologies your highness but his Majesty is looking for you." A soldier said as a guard ran off. Calder watched as the guard disappeared then sighed.

"Why is his Majesty looking for me?" Calder asked. "No reason! He was just worried that you may have been, cough, cough, hungry and wanted to give you a light snack before you forget to eat." The soldier said as he averted his gaze.

"I am in deed hungry." Calder replied then instantly regretted his word. The guard came back running. "His Majesty said to guard this room and make sure that the Duke doesn't leave until sunlight."

Calder froze as he heard the order. Lady Bane looked ready to throw a tantrum but instead she curtsied to the Calder. "Well, have yourself a good night then." She said coolly. She then rose before Calder could say anything and walked away.

The guard looked completely embarrassed as the other two soldiers looked uncomfortable. "You can leave. I don't think I need you to stand there the whole time." Calder started but the three men shook their heads no.

"It's an honour your highness."

"I pray for a long night."

"His Majesty is too excited."

They said one by one. Calder felt like his inner self just died. He was absolutely mortified. Without saying a words he backed up into the room and closed the door. He searched for the light switch and flicked the light on.

He then looked around an spotted Lady Syria laying on top of her bed. Her face was buried into her pillow and her shoulders slightly shook. "Lady Syria." Calder called out as he approached her bed.

"Lady Syria?" He called again as he leaned over and gently brushed a lock of hair away. "Syria?" He said instead. "You don't get to call me that!" She shouted as tried to scratch Calder's face but Calder caught her mid attack. "I'm sorry." He said apologetically. "How dare you do that to me!" She hissed.

Calder sighed and sat down on the bed instead. He picked Lady Syria up by the waist and sat her on his lap. He wrapped his arms around her body and hugged her gently. "I will take responsibility for you." He whispered. "I don't want you too!" She spat as she struggled against his embrace.

"Then you need to take responsibility for me. That was my first kiss." He said as he turned his head and kissed the temple to her head. Lady Syria froze, she didn't know what to do, let alone say. "Syria, will you take responsibility for me?" He asked sweetly. Lady Syria swallowed back saliva. "No." She said flatly.

"Then I will have to compensate you." Calder said sadly as he released Lady Syria from his embrace. "C-compensate me?" Lady Syria said as she paled. "Yes. I owe you three favours. No questions asked, no attempts to persuade you to give up the favour." Calder said seriously as he looked at Lady Syria.

"Even if I ask you to do something wicked?" Lady Syria asked cautiously. "Even if you asked me to kill myself I would." Calder replied promptly.

Lady Syria dropped her gaze and silently sat there for a while. Calder sighed and brought Lady Syria to his chest as he laid down. Lady Syria's hair stood on end but she didn't move away. "You can claim your favours as you think of them you don't have to ask anything from me now." Calder said as he gently stroked her hair. "W-what if I asked you to help me become Queen?" Lady Syria asked.

Calder stopped stroking her hair. He went silent for a bit then finally sighed. "If that is what you want then I will help you." Calder replied. Lady Syria sat up and looked at Calder's half naked body. She instantly flushed and moved off of him and onto the bed. "Y-you're not going to kill," She started but then shut her mouth. She didn't want to say what she had thought. "No. I will help you capture my brother's heart instead." Calder said.

Lady Syria looked at Calder with surprise. "Why?" She asked. "You said you wanted to be Queen then you will be Queen. I will never lay a hand on my brother so killing him and taking the throne is out of the question. So all I can do is help you make him fall in love with you." Calder said as he looked up at the ceiling. It hurt, he hurt himself with his own words but there was nothing he could really do.

This was Mei's novel. Her female leads would be compelled to want to be with the original male lead. He was nothing but a supporting character and catalyst for the blood bath. Then a thought entered his head. His current world seemed to real, too many things changed and didn't make sense. A smile started to spread across his face as a mischievous glint flashed in his eyes.

He decided that he was Calder. That he would live as Calder but what was stopping him from actually living in this world. Stopping the bloody massacre was top priority but starting a relationship, a real relationship was plausible. To have children like his brother wanted and spend time with the women he loves. She may not love him back yet but maybe, just maybe if he helped her, spent time together she would see him in a new light.

There was chemistry between them and the scratches on his chest proved it. "Is that your wish? To become Queen?" He asked. Lady Syria sat in silence, it confused him, he thought that's what she was asking. "I need to be Queen." She answered. "Fine, a favour is a favour but for this to work you and I will have to spend a lot more time with each other." Calder said.
