Bored out of my mind, I decided to do a little exercise in the dungeon. Occasionally I would go to the dungeons to refresh my muscles a little as to not get too out of it. To be honest, destroying monsters in one hit could barely count as exercise anymore. It had been a year in this school, but I think I was finally ready for the final boss of dungeon 'Harab'.
Just like the first time I encountered a dungeon boss, pressure exudes out of the door as if overflowing into the outside. What kind of dungeon boss gives this kind of aura?! Well I think I was finally ready to give it a try. Snapping myself out of nervousness, I regained my composure as I pushed through the door. What appeared inside was....
Nothing. The pressure disappeared all at once, leaving me with a dumbfounded look. As I turned around and was about to walk away, *thud* a crashing sound resounds in the empty room. As the dungeon was dark and I was too lazy to make light, I used a [Omni detection] to get around. But all that does is give me rough white outlines in a black space. Through time, I got used to it and was able to tell what everything was with extreme accuracy. Even things that were 500 metres away. So whatever crashed in that small room was extremely vivid as the information forcibly burned itself into my brain through the use of my skill.
... A rough white out line spreads out like a leaking fluid, forming a puddle that slowly expanded. Before I noticed it, my breathing was getting a little laboured. 'hu hu hu' Anxiety and my left hand gripped tightly onto my heart as I took more steps forward. It was so clear, what was on the ground, yet I couldn't accept it. Why was it on the ground? What happen? How was this caused?! Any time stamps to watch out for? Scrutinising it, a note was gripped tightly in its left hand.
' One year' writtened in blood. It was just numeral form '1' and 'y'. But knowing it best, it was a warning. How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How? How!! Tch! It didn't matter how this occured, I just couldn't accept it. The trouble that is about to come. Kuh! I didn't need [omni detection] to know what flowed down my cheeks. I just couldn't accept it.
How did I get Defeated!! Damn it. What was I even killed by? There was only blood everywhere and no external injuries. How the hell do I even prevent this? There were no clues to what the cause of death was. That only meant that I was going to die again and cause this loop of warning myself with my own corpse to continue.
Proceeding to walk away from the boss room, my hand shooked as an uncurable fear engulfed me. No, I will break the loop in this run. Even if I don't break it, then it will be the next one or maybe even the one after. If I couldn't handle my opponent, then it had to be an authority, in that case how do I prevent it from happening? Was there anyone that's stronger?...
The previous king... He's supposed to be dead huh? . Tch, can I even find his corpse and revive him? What the hell killed a monster like him anyway. Not to mention his personal guard, Houzo. Both had similar abilities, if not Houzo's was stronger. If I had to say, one was moving space around and the other was directly manipulating space.
All I can do for the time being is to find a way to prevent my death. Clenching my shaking fist, I calmed myself down before teleporting my corpse back with me to the base. It wasn't really a secret base, since it was just in the particularly affluent part of the residential district. The only thing that could be called secret in there was the labyrinth worked on by Yuuki everyday. She really had quite some resilience, modifying the labyrinth all the time.
Every document and info was kept with my assistant Kurisu, she uses her class and skills to keep it in her 'database'. As for combat ability, the 2 'commandment' items were given to Kido, we thought she could make good use of it as the leader of their small group.
Using my speed, it was easy to pull off killing every monster in a second. Landing right outside the entrance, I teleported back to the mansion to share my findings. The mansion wasn't as large as the previous ones, but it was still very functional in that it could house quite a lot of people along with the other necessities like a kitchen, a guestroom and etc. Entering Kurisu's office, I proceeded with the strange theory of a death loop. After all she had been there 3 years. At first I thought she was random person seeking a good paying job, but she stuck with me for some reason.
This time in particular, she faked her surprised. If it wasn't for the 3 years, I couldn't have found the difference in her expressions. Was she the aggressor? Tch, guess I can't sleep for a year. Whatever, if this somehow affected her to attack without an authority, that would be great. For now, I could only keep my guard up until the situation is more clear.
The next day, I lazed away on the classroom desk as lessons proceeded. My attention was occupied, I mean who wouldn't be frightened by their own dead body? Tapping away on the desk, it wasn't exactly a good idea to ignore lessons as well. At the very least I was listening to the bare minimum of important informstion. Other than that anxiety at the corner of my mind, I was pretty much the same as usual.
When it came to break time, there was no longer some bell or alarm unlike the previous school. The teacher would just excuse us to leave if we wanted to go buy food or hang outside. I was particularly bored, so I wanted to fire away at targets to quench this boredom. Teleporting to the fire range, I extended my palm and faced it against the dummies 20 metres away. To be honest, I could stay still and fire away, but I thought facing your palm at the dummy was cool, even if everyone else is doing it to negate their poor mana handling instead.
I decided to try out what the low levels do and channel my mana into my palm before firing. Shaking violently like an earthquake, mana in the surroundings condensed to the point there was an invisible pressure surrounding the firing range. The pressure was also affecting the rest of the capital, albeit so little that people barely felt it. Using authority of conquest, I condensed it to the max, forming a white glowing blob. If my [abyss control] wasn't on, the air would have detonated and the school would be gone. Turning it into the dark element, a solid mass of glowing purple was hurled at the dummies.
In less than a secound, a purple expanding orb swallowed the dummies before shrinking into nothingness, leaving nothing behind. Leaving the firing range in that state, I continued the rest of my day as usual.
