*clang*, sparks arose from the clash of metal. Though it would be strange to call this a fight, since it was incredibly one sided. Sensing imminent death, Jean sensei decided to get serious. Cladding himself in a light blue aura, he raised his right arm with his sword into their, while facing his left palm at his opponent. Strange pose, maybe its normal in this word. I heard his class was a blade manipulator, he retired when his level had reached 700, that was quite an accomplishment for the average person.
Well if he got all out, that wasn't a good excuse for me to use my strength. This was just sparring practice after all. This was apparently his way of punishing students that slept in class. It was just that, this guy thought he moved at an incredible speed where students cannot follow the sight of his blade. Sure it would make sense if the students were below level 200 which was almost a guarantee, but people like James, Fez and I could easily see through his movements. Though I was the only one openly expressing my boredom.
Back to the match, we picked up wooden swords and got into our positions. What made him think it was a good idea to fight someone above the usual level cap of 600. Even the cap of 1000 was surpassed, this was plain suicide. I thought you needed levels above 3000 for the system to block it, but 1000 was just fine. Maybe the books lied and the heroes divulged their levels through oral communication? Heroes had a level cap of 3000, yet my class didn't have the word hero in it. That only meant that my class was above the the peak of s-tier, heroes, and was in the ss-tier.
Looking at the match, it looked like Jean sensei was moving in slow motion, I just went along with his swings and pushed them to the side. From the outside, I was actually moving at an incredible speed, that made the action of me pushing his swings amplify in force. Accidentally blowing him away with brute strength. That was when he suddenly became serious. Covered in a translucent light blue aura, the wooden sword took one a new look wherr it was somehow shiny and vould match steel.
Lunging with all his strength, I decided to put some effort into this one. Raising my wooden sword higher, I placed it right above his while he was in slow motion. Pressing down with slightly more strength, his shiny wooden sword shattered like glass. "Are you done? Isn't this taking quite some time from the lesson?"
"What do you mean? It has barely been 5 minutes." (Jean)
"Oh, so you haven't had enough."
"Emily! Don't!" (Fez)
Raising my bloodflow to the max, an invisible pressure affects the surroundings. Subconciously, mana was being gathered nearby as well, adding more pressure onto all of Jean sensei's senses.
"Don't worry, even if he dies, I can just bring him back."
I say that, but I wasn't cruel enough to hurt a teacher. Was it really worth it to activate all your skills just to punish a student? Lunging one last time, he swung his wooden sword that had somehow regenerated back it's edge. Going for piercing power, he aimed the end of his sword straight at me. Stifling a yawn, I use my fingers the grab the edge of his sword. And twist it!
"Now can we go back to lesson? You've wasted 3 minutes already. Maybe it isn't much for you, but int he middle of battle 3 minutes can seem like forever."
"Ah. Yeah..yeah sure. I apologise for wasting everyone's time *cough* ahem so anyway..." (Jean)
" Way to go in holding back. Wish you could be that soft on my training. "(Fez)
"It was training for me as well, sparring on weekends. Anyway better listen to sensei, don't want him to get mad again."
As an experienced warrior, he had a skill that enhanced his hearing. Hearing my voice made him hesitate on deciding whether to reprimand us again. Out of the kindness of my heart, I told Fez to focus on the lesson. I don't know if it eased his nerves, but it was no longer my problem. Now it was just playing the role model student. Giving a bright smile like the role model student potrayed in my imagination.
"Wah!" (Jean)
Guess it didn't work. He got frightened for a second before smiling back wryly in akwardness. 'Is she threatening me? ' was the only thing that went through Jean sensei's mind. The rest of the day went by as I thought of my next plan of actions.
In about 3 months, examinations came to test the amount of content we've learned. There were 3 of these a year, so this was the forth one that I've gone through. The student population was so large, the different years would be seperated into 3 buildings. At the time, the first years were just as inexperienced as me, there wasn't much going on and the syllabus was easy for me to ace the various tests.
Now that we were in the second year, for some odd reason third years would walk by the corridors. Did they perhaps share the same building as the second years? Then what was the third building for? The teachers? Well whatever, it didn't matter much anyway. Whether the third years walk by here or not, school life would still be pretty mundane. When it was break time, I became too lazy to get off my seat. I was about to teleport to the canteen at the first floor when a strange big palm had slammed my table. Some imaginary smoke was coming off the hand.
Raising my head up, I stared at the perpetrator with an indifferent expression.
"I heard you were the strongest student from the second years, that you defeated the arrogant guy that held back in first year, unable to graduate." (?)
"Defeated? I don't remember fighting anyone last year."
"You're Emily, aren't you? Stop playing dumb!" (?)
"Haha~ I think I've recalled who you were referring too. I didn't even notice it was a fight. His presence was so weak I walked into him and he was gone. What? You want to fight? "
"Get off the seat, I'll teach you not to underestimate your senior." (?)
Ah. He got me. I was too lazy to get off my seat. Maybe if I lie down on the table. Teleporting myself onto my desk while facing up, I reached my hand out to grabbed that random person's neck.
" Ah! Augh! Ugh! Let... Go.. !" (?)
Checking his stats, he was above level 100,so he should be durable enough.
"Sure."
Swinging my arm across, I let go of his neck as I promised. He flew through the wall like the other guy and crashed onto the first floor. Just like that, another strange person has been dealt with. Teleporting myself off the desk and into the canteen, the rest of the day continued as usual.
