Chereads / Reincarnation: I Am The Boss / Chapter 53 - The Tenth Invincible Boss

Chapter 53 - The Tenth Invincible Boss

"Two Bosses teaming up just to fight a bandit leader? You must be kidding."

"I know, right?! Some experts can even solo the bandit leader using the terrain advantage! The bandit leader isn't even worthy of the Boss's attention!"

Players who received the latest news did not think it was real.

Many players had experienced how powerful both the Magma Golem and the Black Witch were but the bandit leader? While he might be something else, giving him such a spotlight was more of a joke.

Even though the bandit leaders ran rampant all over the Monolith Stronghold, the players still did not look at the bandit leaders differently.

They experienced the strength of the bandit leaders first hand and it was nothing stellar. A slightly cooperative party with decent DPS (damage per second) could take down a leader. A pro could even use the terrain to solo-kill the bandit leader. Even though most of the players were wiped out by this group of bandit leaders, these few players assumed that most of the players were too noob.

"Hmph! Why would I lie to you? Zoom in and take a look for yourself! The Magma Golem is chasing that bandit leader, but he didn't expect the Black Witch to suddenly bind him with her imprisonment spell. Although it's dark out there, if you look closely, you will see that the bandit leader is also bound by the spell."

The players, who doubted that the two Bosses got together to hunt the bandit leader, got a big slap in their faces. When the video was zoomed in, the two Bosses were actually working together to hunt the bandit leader.

"Who's this bandit leader? Why are the two Bosses after him?"

A lot of players were curious.

It was nothing special if the Magma Golem wanted the bandit leader dead but the Black Witch too? It seemed like something unusual was going on.

"Who knows? This bandit leader should be the leader of the Elite bandit group that went rampant at the Monolith Stronghold in the past two days. Maybe the monsters are fighting over the territories too. The bandit leader must be so arrogant that the two Bosses must want to take him out before he can grow any further."

"It's very likely. It's proven that monsters can level up by killing players and that leader of that group is very cunning. It's not a surprise that the two Bosses want him dead. Otherwise, I really can't think of a good reason why they would team up to hunt him down."

There was nothing good on the bandit leader either. The players at the forum almost understood the big picture of the situation with a little detective work.

Mohai did not expect his reincarnation to cause all this trouble either. The same speculations about monsters fighting over territories had existed for a long time in his past life and it took quite a while for people to accept it.

"What did this bandit leader do that made the Bosses so angry? Isn't he already dead with two Bosses on his tail?"

A lot of players paid attention to the situation, including DeepSea.

She already suspected that the Magma Golem came to the Monolith Stronghold last night for Mohai, but she did not expect things to exacerbate on the second day. Apart from the Magma Golem, even the Black Witch came.

If the Magma Golem and Black Witch teamed up, the three major guilds would still be wiped out, so they did not simply charge in and waste their lives.

DeepSea was rendered speechless after she saw the discussion in the forum. She was only half-done with the mission that the bandit leader assigned her. If he got killed, would the mission still be valid?

If it was possible, DeepSea wanted to help, but even the three major guilds could not get close, let alone her.

"Black Witch, why?"

Back at the Monolith Stronghold, the situation was exactly like what the players saw. As Mohai was bound by the Black Witch's imprisonment spell, a black ring appeared on the ground and froze him. He could not escape the ring.

The Black Witch and the Magma Golem were on both his sides with their respective subordinates.

Mohai was heavily surrounded, so even if he could move, he could not run.

He had signed a contract with the Black Witch during the day, but when she met him again at night, she attacked him instead. Mohai was not angry about her betraying him. Instead, he was rather calm when he asked her why.

"It's nothing actually. After you left, the Magma Golem sent his men to me and persuaded me. I bought his offer, so I don't have to follow the contract anymore," said the Black Witch without the slightest guilt of betrayal.

"Don't you want the Darkness Orb anymore?" Mohai asked without showing too much emotion.

"I'm just interested in that thing. It's great if I can get it, but it's not necessary." Maybe it was her guilt that made her answer Mohai's question.

'I knew it.' Mohai sighed.

When he offered the Darkness Orb to her, the Black Witch sized it up for a while before expressing her interest. If she really wanted the orb, she would not have given such a faint reaction.

In the future, the Black Witch indeed needed the Darkness Orb, but it would be after the first arc of the storyline. The Black Witch might not know how important the Darkness Orb was to her now. Mohai knew, but he had taken it out a little too early, thus it did not work as expected.

"Magma Lord, why are you after me?" Mohai turned to the Magma Golem instead. If he insisted on knowing about the deal between the Black Witch and the Magma Golem, he might not get an answer at all. He rather switched his attention to the one who started all this: the Magma Golem.

"Why must I answer you? After tonight, you will be erased from the Monolith Stronghold, so you don't have to know! Men, bring me my things!"

The Magma Golem did not want to answer Mohai. If not for the Black Witch, he would have attacked Mohai.

After the Black Witch stated her stand, the Magma Golem waved his hand and the Fire Raven brought three bandit leaders out from the group of fire elementals.

'Damn it! I thought I wiped out all the bandit leaders in the Monolith Stronghold during the day. Where did he get three more from?'

"Hold on! Magma Lord, if you answer my question, I'll give you back what you want. Otherwise, expect a harsh fight! I'm on Level 13 now and I have a ton of junk in my bag. It's not easy for them to get you what you want. There are so many of you, and if I fight to my death, you can't even stop me from dying! I wonder if you can get what you want before I kill myself," Mohai voiced his threats when the three bandit leaders came out.

"My lord, he's right," the Fire Raven whispered to the Magma Golem.

As a bandit leader, Mohai's Magical Defense was low and the fire elementals could induce [Burn] debuff with normal attacks. If he was not careful, the bandit leader might die first due to continuous damage.

"Fine, I'll tell you why, but you must show me the mission scroll first and give me back what you stole from me," the Magma Golem agreed after measuring the stakes.

Mohai had gone through the mill to get the Black Witch over here, and if his efforts fell short, he would rather die.

The Magma Golem was exceptionally cautious. With Mohai's reaction being a little too calm, he must first make sure Mohai had what he wanted. Otherwise, the cunning b*stard would surely use it against him.

"Okay." Mohai fished out the mission scroll, the Darkness Orb, and the first page of the Book of Fire. "Now, answer me. Why are you after me? I don't think it's because of this mission scroll."

"Very well." The Magma Golem nodded.

If Mohai hid the things somewhere else, he would have to search for it again. He heaved a breath of relief when he saw the items with Mohai.

"In this world that we lived in, the Land of Origin, there are nine legendary kings, but a once upon a time, there were 10. There are only nine left because nine of them teamed up and killed the 10th legendary king," said the Magma Golem after a little pause.

'The nine legendary kings? Hmm, I bet he is talking about the nine invincible Bosses in the future.'

"So, is this tenth legendary king related to my race? Are you afraid that I will revive him when I grow stronger, so you are trying to kill me now?" Mohai filled in the gaps with his imagination and even thought of the possible storyline of the game.

"Revive him? Hahaha! Impossible! The nine legendary kings teamed up to kill that tenth king and destroyed all the Reincarnation Pools. Unless the nine of them teamed up to revive him, the tenth king could never return from the Eternal Sea! A bandit leader like you? Don't even make me laugh." The Magma Golem gawked upon hearing what Mohai said.

Each 'king' could only be revived at their own Reincarnation Pool, it was impossible for any one of them to come back from another Reincarnation Pool. The price to come back was heavy. Even if the nine kings combined all their resources, it might still not be enough.

"But you got one thing right. Your race is related to the tenth king. Your face is actually from an area under the tenth king's jurisdiction in the past. Back then, your race wasn't called bandits but was known as something else. Based on how fast you grow, you will soon become the third lord in this region and two lords in this region is more than enough. On top of that, your skillset is too ridiculous. Your race was infamous back then. You might not be who you were, but once you become a lord, the Black Witch and I will be the ones who suffer," said the Magma Golem in a serious tone.

His burning eyes were overflowing with killing intent.

'What the hell? Does this lousy bandit template have another identity?'

Even with five years of game experience, Mohai did not expect the bandits to have another identity or that there would be a tenth invincible Boss in the game that he did not know about.
