Chapter 55 - The First Loli

[Activity log]

[You have left the Monolith Stronghold's activity range and are currently in Nomad mode. Please return to the Monolith Stronghold as soon as possible.]

Before the Ghost could even heave a breath of relief after Mohai teleported himself back, he saw sand wolves and skeletons popping up from the desert under the white moon. "Boss, the sand wolves and the skeletons have surrounded us and they don't seem friendly."

All the monsters looked hostile. They were grunting as they moved closer to Mohai and company.

"I've got it. Prepare to fight," Mohai said.

Mohai had already used up the last Free Action opportunity of the week when he went to the Black Witch yesterday. Furthermore, leaving the Monolith Stronghold for the Quicksand Mines turned him into a Nomad.

As its name suggested, a monster with the Nomad status would attract more hostility from other monsters whilst the aggro radius was shortened to 0, which meant that Mohai could no longer sense monsters or players within his range.

They were surrounded by Level 15 sand wolves and Level 16 skeletons, but the number of their foes was unclear due to the dark of the night.

If a normal Elite monster ran out of Free Action opportunities and somehow wandered somewhere else, he would find it difficult to move around. It was no exaggeration to say that it was suicidal.

Awhoooo!

The sand wolves' howl pierced the silent night as they charged towards Mohai and the bandit leaders together with the skeletons.

"Make your way to the left of the mine," Mohai ordered.

The attacks from the monsters were endless and they were not in an advantageous position with all directions being exposed.

Level 15 sand wolves had 2,000 HP each. While the skeleton had, their HP was still at 1,500. Mohai and his bandit leaders were all Elites with 7,000 to 8,000 HP, but under an endless wave of attack, no amount of HP would be enough.

"No. 1 and 2, let's lower our HP to 10%."

Bandit leaders had limited offensive means. Even though they were already at Level 13, they had not learned a single new skill, so the only available skill to break out from the encirclement was [Powerful Sweep]. If they dragged the battle out and fought the sand wolves one by one, no amount of HP would be enough for them to stay alive.

"Yes, Boss!" No.1 and 2 answered without hesitation.

The two of them jumped in front of Mohai and engaged the wolves and the skeletons with [Heavy Bash].

The sand wolves and skeletons had high physical damage, but thankfully, the bandit leader's physical defense was not weak either. Each of them was equipped with Black Iron gear which increased their defenses. Every attack from the sand wolves and skeletons could only chip off a little over a hundred HP.

However, there were too many of them, thus the two bandit leaders lost 300 to 400 HP in an instant without dodging.

"No. 1 and 2, step back. No. 13, cover them. Ghost, get in and try to blast them in the concentrated area."

Their HPs swiftly dropped to below 700. Mohai pulled No. 1 and 2 back quickly because given their remaining HP, they would be able to survive the following attacks.

"Yes, Boss!"

The Ghost charged out vigorously. His ability to mitigate a large amount of damage made him almost invincible among the monsters. He would still survive if Mohai and the other bandit leaders were wiped out.

The Ghost's appearance instantly aggroed a large number of sand wolves and skeletons. He was swiftly surrounded before he could fly further away.

Kaboom!

The Ghost self-destructed without a second thought.

The Elite Ghost's self-destruction skill could inflict huge damage, so most of the sand wolves and skeletons lost around 1,200 HP or more.

Together with Mohai, No. 1 and 2 quickly followed up with their AOE [Powerful Sweep]. Three yellow flashes were swung towards the weakened sand wolves and skeletons, killing them in an instant. A small space opened up in the sea of monsters.

'My gosh! Having the Ghost around is really great!' Mohai exclaimed.

A single explosion from the Ghost successfully brought the enemies to half their HPs. Otherwise, with [Powerful Sweep] alone, the pressure on the frontline would be a lot heavier and Mohai might have to use the Oath Cross to heal.

With the tiny space opened amongst the sea of monsters, Mohai led his team towards the mines, but they were once again surrounded by sand wolves and skeletons before they could make it.

The Ghost recovered quickly as well. By the time Mohai and the bandit leaders brought the sand wolves and skeletons to half of their HPs, the Ghost had fully recovered and he quickly self-destructed to clear up a big area again.

Mohai and the others quickly moved towards the left.

After repeating the tactic a few times and the bandit leaders, who tanked most of the damage, reached half their HPs, the group finally reached the mines.

With half of the monsters gone, the team's pressure was instantly halved.

"Boom! Kaboom! Kabam!"

The Ghost was getting ahead of himself with the explosions as always. With every single self-destruction wiping out a whole bunch of enemies, the thrill that he felt was intoxicating.

After the battle went on for almost 20 minutes, the sand wolves and skeletons finally stopped attacking.

Mohai and his team had wiped out all the monsters within a 300-meter radius!

"Take a rest. Heal up before we move on." Mohai was panting after the battle finally ended. He was the most exhausted among his team because other than maintaining a stable damage output, he had to command his men around effectively.

The sand wolves and skeletons would soon respawn. Therefore, they must seize the moment to recover and venture deeper into the Quicksand Mines.

Mohai had given up the idea of returning to the Monolith Stronghold. The two Bosses had more Free Action opportunities than him, thus it would be suicidal if he returned.

He had gone to the Black Witch and spent so much effort on the plan because he wanted to seize the initiative for himself. Even though he was forced to leave the Monolith Stronghold, he left prepared and did not lose anything in the process.

If he failed to notice the details and did not prepare beforehand, by the time he realized that the Black Witch had teamed up with the Magma Golem, everything would have been too late. Even if he could escape, half of his bandit leaders would end up dead.

Without his Elite bandit leaders, fighting a large group of wild monsters with Nomad status would be deadly even with the Ghost around.

After they disengaged, their HP recovered swiftly. In less than 10 seconds, everyone was at full HP.

Mohai led the team forward again. He actually chose the Quicksand Mines for another reason.

The mission scroll's Rank S reward actually provided him with other choices of equipment and there was a decent Level 15 Dark Gold equipment with decent stats, there were also two pieces of Gold equipment.

However, Mohai only picked the Traveller's Ring and nothing else.

Even though the Dark Gold gears were quite appealing, to an Elite monster like him, a piece of equipment would not provide a drastic change in strength, even more so when this piece of equipment was on Level 15, which he had not reached. He could not make use of it right away.

Therefore, Mohai asked the system two questions about his own race.

After he got the answers, he combined them with his game experience and decided to come to the Quicksand Mines.

The Quicksand Mines was a spacious area covered in sand, and there were a lot of independent mines across the desert. Some of the mines were abandoned whereas some were still operational and could produce quality minerals.

Mohai's goal was one of the mines in the Quicksand Mines, so he decided to stay there for a while to wait for the players to level up.

Killing low-level players was meaningless. Although he had killed a few thousand players in the past two days, he was not even halfway to his next level. To upgrade to Level 15, which was a crucial level to him, he must wait for the players to level up.

As for the questions that he asked the system, one of them was how to upgrade his template to the Bandit Lord.

Although he already had a rough idea, with the two Bosses teaming up against him, he needed a more explicit way since he did not have the time to search for the answers.

The answer from the system was that one of the requirements to upgrade his template was to reach Level 15. He would not have enough time to level up to 15 back in the Monolith Stronghold, so he must leave.

After the group traveled for almost 300 meters, a large number of sand wolves and skeletons appeared again, forcing them into battle.

With the experience from the first encounter, the battle might still be harsh but was a lot less dangerous.

The night passed quickly. The group might not have been able to travel far, and for the sake of safety, they had to travel alongside the mines. Otherwise, being surrounded would be dangerous.

Their vision at night was heavily restricted. There was once when Mohai and his group wiped out the monsters but were unable to find the next event, so he stepped back and waited for the monsters to respawn before he moved forward somewhere else.

However, there were times when the two mines were too far apart and Mohai had to risk it to the next checkpoint.

Making a detour would cost him time and might be even more dangerous.

It was already 10:00 a.m. and Mohai found himself surrounded by monsters from all directions again.

Fortunately, they were all experienced and with the Oath Cross in his hand, even if their HP dropped to a dangerous level, they would not die if they were careful.

With Mohai's command, this wave of monsters was easily wiped out.

Mohai heaved a breath of relief when there were a handful of monsters left but all of a sudden, two tiny figures appeared and lunged daggers at No. 11.

'Sh*t!'

No. 11's HP was low with less than 300 HP. Two dagger strikes with an extra attack would be enough to kill him!

What about the Oath Cross?

No. 11 would be fine if the Oath Cross was used, but Mohai did not use it.

Although the two figures were quick, Mohai was faster.

[Heavy Bash]!

Mohai landed [Heavy Bash] on one of the figures. At the same time, he moved his leg forward and blocked the other dagger strike, shielding No. 11 from harm.

No. 13 noticed the attack right away and cast [Heavy Bash] on the second figure.

The two figures were stunned and Mohai was able to get a clearer look at them. To his surprise, they were actually little girls with black round buns.

'These two little lolis…Aren't they the twins that ranked first in the Seven Lolis' ranking?'
