Chapter 45 - Ghost

"Sister DeepSea, do you think these bandit leaders are related to the one that we know?"

As the news spread like wildfire, more and more players came over and the situation was no longer under control.

However, only individual players came by. The players from the guilds had their own plans, so they could not simply leave without a good reason.

If the individual players took charge, they would surely be cannon fodder. Even though a lot of them were restless, they knew that charging in without a plan would not end well. They were all waiting for others to take charge while they seized the advantage.

DeepSea was with LilPiggy and LilYa, watching from the bushes quietly. LilPiggy was the one who asked the question when the crowd got noisy.

"I don't know. We will have to see."

"If he's someone we know, should we help him?" LilPiggy asked.

"Help? How? There are so many players around the den. We'll be killed before we even get close!" LilYa rolled her eyes at LilPiggy and said in an upset tone.

Without providing an answer, DeepSea looked ahead and saw a group of players. A quick thought later, she walked out and went over.

She walked further ahead while TemperedSteel was in front of FallenMoon and LadyDragon who came by when they heard a group of Elite bandit leaders appearing in the Monolith Stronghold.

If they were able to see what was coming, they would have changed their development plans for the future drastically without a second thought.

A while after they appeared, TemperedSteel walked over and introduced himself, also stating his intention behind the conversation, "Excuse me, ladies. I'm TemperedSteel, the guild master of the newly formed Iron Legion. I know our guild is small and unpopular. Everyone in our guild doesn't want to be a Priest, so we are lacking one. If you are interested, I think our guilds can work together and fill up each other's gaps."

The Iron Legion was still a small guild and they were lacking Priests whereas Blooming Dreams was overflowing with Priests. It would be a win-win situation if they teamed up.

"Of course. If you don't mind, we can talk about the details later."

It was the first time FallenMoon had heard of the Iron Legion, but since all guilds were the same in the early stages, with the pressure from DancingSandstorm, no other guild was willing to lend them a hand or even collaborate with them. If the Iron Legion was not afraid of the pressure and still wanted to work together, FallenMoon would be welcoming towards them.

Blooming Dreams was losing members and only the Priests remained behind. They had lost a steady leveling team, and if this continued, disbanding the guild was only a matter of time.

The three of them wanted to discuss further, but they noticed DeepSea was coming closer, so all three of them switched their attention to her.

FallenMoon was gentle and refined whereas LadyDragon was valiant and energetic. The two of them were quite popular among the players, but DeepSea's temperament was able to overpower the two of them combined.

"Good morning. I'm DeepSea. Can you add me as a friend? I think we might be able to work together in the future," DeepSea smiled and introduced herself.

Her introduction could not be any simpler, but the three of them added DeepSea to their friend lists without a second thought.

A tempered beauty like DeepSea was not just any Jane Doe. She must be someone with a background!

FallenMoon, LadyDragon, and TemperedSteel were no commoners themselves, but they were less mysterious compared to DeepSea.

The four of them attracted a lot of attention, especially when the three beauties stood together. Some of the male players simply could not move their eyes away. However, the four of them had a presence so strong that it deterred the other players from coming closer.

"Huh? It seems like it's starting," TemperedSteel said after adding DeepSea as a friend.

A young man with an imposing manner stepped up. Following his command, a dozen parties scattered out and got into position to move in.

"That's ShawnWoo from Tarzan. I didn't expect him to be this free." FallenMoon looked rather sullen.

The Tarzan guild was a veteran guild in many games and they were quite famous. They might not be as frightening as the top three guilds, but in some of the older games, they were considered one of the top 10 guilds as well.

ShawnWoo was an experienced commander of the guild and was quite famous in many of the guilds. The three major guilds tried to headhunt him to join their guilds, but ShawnWoo did not agree.

With him around, even if he was commanding a bunch of rag tags, the party would be able to work a lot better than usual.

"I guess that's it for this group of Elites. Too bad I don't have enough members in my guild. Otherwise, I would have fought for a share." TemperedSteel sighed.

He actually came here just for the show and to socialize with some other guilds so that he could suggest a collaboration for leveling and exploration. With FallenMoon and LadyDragon on his side now, he no longer had to waste his energy with other guilds.

"I don't think so," LadyDragon said.

DeepSea looked at LadyDragon after hearing what she said. LadyDragon's different opinion raised curiosity in DeepSea's heart.

Judging from FallenMoon's look, it seemed like the two ladies shared the same thought.

"What can go wrong? The Elites are powerful and there are a dozen of them, but there are even more players. There's no way they can escape now." TemperedSteel looked at FallenMoon and LadyDragon with a strange expression.

He believed the two of them must have known something that he did not.

'What the hell? Why am I missing out on all the things?'

After he stole another glance at DeepSea and saw her composure, TemperedSteel knew that there must be something unusual with these bandit leaders. His curiosity was piqued. He stopped talking and concentrated on the battlefield.

The vanguard parties had engaged the bandit leaders, and after a closer look, TemperedSteel was certain that these bandit leaders were unlike others!

With his experience, he was able to tell with a few glances. The bandit leaders attacked with a clear target in mind, unlike common monsters that attacked for the sake of attacking.

As though someone was commanding the bandit leaders, all their attacks struck the weakest part of the parties!

The players were commanded by ShawnWoo, and after he noticed that the bandit leaders were attacking in a specific pattern, he quickly changed his commands to adapt. In TemperedSteel's eyes, this battle was a fight between ShawnWoo and another strategist.

One of them commanded the players while the other commanded the bandit leaders.

ShawnWoo's command was great, but the players were obviously weaker than the bandit leaders when it came to executing orders. However, TemperedSteel was able to tell that the commander of the bandit leaders was stronger than ShawnWoo.

The bandit leaders executed the commands perfectly while their commander was strong. These two factors caused the players to fall into a disadvantageous position after the battle started.

However, the players had the advantage of numbers, something the bandit leaders could not compensate for!

As he noticed the gap getting wider, ShawnWoo decisively sent another group of players in for support.

The bandit leaders were instantly suppressed. If this continued, it would only be a matter of time before ShawnWoo wiped the bandit leaders out.

"A Ghost?"

The blob of black that came out from the Reincarnation Pool was something called a Ghost.

The Ghost was a spirit type monster, similar to a spirit, but it had no legs. It floated in the air and its body was like a small wine barrel. It was a little fat and looked rather dumb.

"Boss, please don't ditch me. I'll do my best to repay you!"

The recruited Ghost was only a kid. After he was recruited, his big eyes curiously looked around curiously. However, when he heard Mohai's rather unhappy tone, he hopped over to Mohai and started to beg pitifully.

It was rare for the Ghost to be recruited, and if he was ditched and forced to return to that damned place, who knew when he would be able to come out again?

"Take it easy. I didn't say I'm ditching you. Let me see what you can do first," said Mohai.

Recruiting a Ghost was beyond his expectations.

According to Mohai's expectations, the ideal recruitment would be a ritualist-type monster that could AOE heal. It would be better if he recruited one that could inflict Magical damage as it would fill the magic draught in his party.

He would also be much more confident in the battle with the Magma Golem.

Mohai's heart actually skipped a beat when he recruited a Ghost instead of something that could heal. He quickly looked through the Variant Ghost's stats and his eyes gleamed in excitement.

'Great! It's only a Level 12 low-level Ghost, but it already has that ability!'

To Mohai, a Ghost having this particular ability was much more valuable than something that could heal.

However, Mohai did not reflect his emotions on his face because he did not want to let the Ghost know that he was actually happy about the Ghost's arrival.

Mohai spent a fortune on recruiting the Ghost, so he must at least make the Ghost loyal to him first!
