"Don't be afraid. The leader is never wrong. Nothing will go wrong if you follow exactly what the leader says," No. 13 consoled the Ghost. After No. 13's Loyalty value reached 5, he started to feel like he could think for himself.
Mohai was pleased about it. There was a huge difference whether a monster could think for himself or not and with the Loyalty value, he was not worried about No. 13 betraying him. He would instead get a right-hand man.
"You're right." The Ghost recalled what happened during the day and he believed No. 13 was telling the truth.
The orders from Mohai during the earlier battles were all precise and meticulous and with his leader, the Ghost was able to wipe out the enemies easily regardless of their numbers.
"Don't worry. I'll reconfirm with you later. You just have to remember the route and it will be fine," Mohai also assured the Ghost. The Ghost might be powerful, but he was surprisingly a coward.
…
"Holy sh*t! The Magma Golem is a Level 20 Boss!"
"Why did he leave the Magma Cave and come all the way here to the Monolith Stronghold?"
"Inform the leader right away!"
The Magma Golem was like a walking lighthouse at night. Moments after he arrived at the Monolith Stronghold, he already captured the attention of the players.
Even though the Magma Golem's appearance was not a secret, when he appeared in the Monolith Stronghold, he still shocked every player who saw him.
The Fire Raven was flying ahead of the Magma Golem for reconnaissance, and when it saw a large group of Adventurers ahead, it flew back anxiously and updated the Magma Golem.
"My lord, there are a lot of Adventurers here tonight."
"That many? Something isn't right." The Magma Golem's burning eyes scanned around and it felt something strange in the air.
Last night, he did not even meet a single Adventurer on the way here, yet after a day, a bunch of Adventurers swarmed over? It seemed like something had happened without his knowledge.
"Scatter out and kill everyone who stands in our way. We must find that bandit leader tonight!" The Magma Golem was not deterred by the number of players.
At the current stage, the Adventurers were not a threat to him, they could not do anything even though they had the advantage of numbers.
The Magma Golem brought a lot of subordinates over for Mohai. They marched to the Monolith Stronghold with an intimidating presence, and if they turned around just because they saw some Adventurers, he would lose face and his status would be shaken.
"Yes, my lord!" the fire elementals behind the Magma Lord answered in one voice before they scattered away. They were ordered to report back once they located Mohai.
Bang!
Someone from the players attacked the Magma Golem with an [Ice Arrow].
"Die!"
The Magma Golem's gaze turned sharp as he raised his fiery hand and tossed a fireball at the player who attacked. The fireball was like a meteor falling from the sky.
Kaboom!
A loud explosion later, the player who attacked and his party members were all killed by a single fireball from the Magma Golem.
"It's so powerful!"
"Don't be afraid! The leader has ordered us to attack and aggro it! Don't let the Magma Golem run away before our leader arrives!"
The Magma Golem usually stayed inside the Magma Cave and it was quite difficult for players to catch a glimpse of his figure, but tonight, he had gone out of the cave and came all the way to the Monolith Stronghold. The guild master of all three major guilds received news about it and they believed it was a great opportunity to understand the Magma Golem.
The three major guilds already had their eyes on the Magma Golem. They were not interested in the common Elites, but the Magma Golem was a Level 20 Boss, and they wanted to take it down as soon as possible.
Other than the rare gear that the Magma Golem might drop, the three major guilds sought after the rare materials even more.
Based on what they knew, upgrading the guild would grant its members more buffs, but the required rare materials were only dropped from Bosses, at least, for now.
If anyone from the guild could kill the Magma Golem, they would be able to get the materials to upgrade the guild and they would be faster than their competitors for a few days in terms of development.
Since it was rare for the Boss to leave its lair, they would not give up this golden opportunity.
The guilds members were still at a relatively low level. If they could lose some XP in exchange for knowledge about the Boss's stats and how the Boss attacked, it would be much more worth it than losing XP at a higher level.
Both guilds received the news at once and GoldenCoast ran into DemonMarshal at the exit of Guggenheim.
"DemonMarshal."
"GoldenCoast, it's been a while. I see you are still as domineering as ever." DemonMarshal glanced over at GoldenCoast's buff and intimidating physique.
"Apparently being domineering is useless! I still got cheated a while ago." GoldenCoast's words hinted at something else.
"I heard what happened. It seems like the mastermind had quite some moves under his sleeves." DemonMarshal nodded as if it was nothing. He knew that the Fortune Alliance was on to The Richest and even suspected him as the mastermind. However, they had no sufficient evidence to prove it.
"Who's representing the Huaxia Empire this time? There's no way they won't do anything when a big Boss appears." GoldenCoast did not want to argue with DemonMarshal about the lost staff because his investigation told him that El Staff did not end up in The Richest's hand.
"I don't know. I didn't even know who they stationed here at Guggenheim," said DemonMarshal with a shake of his head.
"It was me," a cold voice said behind the two of them.
The two of them turned around and saw an unfriendly, beautiful woman walking towards them.
"My gosh, isn't this BlackRose, my dear? Hahaha, who would've thought you'd be in Guggenheim as well? Hey, DemonMarshal, why don't you greet your old lover? Don't be rude, you b*stard!" GoldenCoast responded to the woman's arrival and gawked at her. He then turned to DemonMarshal with a ridiculing look, expecting something spicy to happen.
"I…It's been a while." DemonMarshal smiled bitterly at BlackRose.
"Who are you calling an old lover? If you don't shut that mouth of yours, I'll tear you to shreds right here, right now!" BlackRose stared at GoldenCoast with killing intention overflowing from her eyes.
"Hahahaha, I'll zip my mouth! Take it easy, BlackRose! Well then, I'm done being the third wheel. See ya later."
He knew nothing good would happen between the two, and with him around, they would not argue at all. GoldenCoast laughed and escaped the awkward situation.
"Did BlackRose ditch that little guild and join the Huaxia Empire? Hehehe, I don't know how DemonMarshal will handle this. This is getting interesting."
GoldenCoast was rubbing his chin as he led his party ahead. His eyes were gleaming sharply.
…
"My lord, some of our men have discovered the bandit leader!" the Fire Raven flew over anxiously and informed the Magma Golem, who was already on a killing spree.
"Good, we will go there right away!" The Magma Golem nodded and told the Fire Raven to lead the way.
"Don't let the Boss run away! Attack! Our leader and reinforcements will be here soon!"
The players received the orders from their respective guild master to stall the Magma Golem, and when they saw the Magma Golem trying to leave, every one of them charged forward boldly.
"Scram!"
The Magma Golem was infuriated when the players tried to hold him back. The players were not afraid of dying, especially since their levels were still low. Dying twice or even thrice would not even hurt them.
With all the fearless players trying to stall the Magma Golem, it was difficult for the Magma Golem to leave.
…
"Die!"
On the other side of the Monolith Stronghold, Mohai and his bandit leaders killed several fire elementals and found a Fire Raven among them.
The Fire Raven was the one that updated the Magma Golem about the situation.
"Ghost, come! Take control of this Fire Raven's body and remember the route that I told you. Go to that spot in the Magma Cave and steal that thing back!" Mohai told the Ghost after they killed the Fire Raven.
"Yes, Boss!"
The Fire Raven was only the size of a soccer ball. After the Ghost received his orders, his wine-barrel body shrunk and possessed the dead Fire Raven. The Fire Raven came back to life and flew up.
"Is this okay, Boss? Will anyone find out it's me?" the Fire Raven asked, obviously still lacking confidence.
"It's fine. Go ahead!" Mohai nodded happily.
The strongest ability of the Ghost was not the ability to self-destruct but [Possession]!
The Ghost's normal form had almost no offensive means other than self-destructing. If the Ghost really wanted to attack an enemy, it could only possess a dead monster and control the body to attack. When the controlled monster lost a certain amount of HP, the Ghost would reveal itself and self-destruct.
[Possession] was a very powerful ability. The Ghost had access to all the possessed monster's skills and would look exactly the same as when the monster was alive.
However, the weakness of [Possession] was also obvious.
When [Possession] was in effect, the ability to reduce 90% damage would be ineffective and due to the corrosion from the Ghost's body, the possessed body's Defense would be greatly reduced while the damage received would be increased by 30%. The possessed monster would also lose HP gradually along with the Ghost's own HP.
Mohai dared not send the Ghost to possess a monster and attack the players in the daytime because a slight misstep would kill the weakened Ghost. He would not even have the time to self-destruct by then.
