Mun Soyoon puts her hands on the table and stands up. "Hee-Chul, Seol hasn't returned from the restroom."
"She must be taking a big dump," Sang Hee-Chul replies to her. "Don't bother people when they are pooping."
"She is taking too long," Mun Soyoon whines. "Ye-Ji, come with me. We need to take her home."
Han Ye-Ji is already snoring with her head on the table. Mun Soyoon wrinkles her nose and takes a step. Someone is blocking her way. She raises her head and squints her eyes. When her eyes focus on the man's face, she points at him. "Professor Namgung, you came."
"My friend was craving some chicken feet." Yeon-Sik smiles. "I don't see Chang Seol here. Did she already leave?"
On the empty chair, Jeong-Hyuk sees a blue bag and a brown coat. That belongs to Chang Seol. So, that duckling hasn't left yet.
"Seol went to the restroom." She frowns at the man beside Namgung Yeon-Sik. Why is this man glaring at her? "Who are you?"
"Ah…" Yeon-Sik wonders what to say. Mun Soyoon is not too drunk to forget. "He's her guardian. He's here to pick her up."
"Her guardian?" Mun Soyoon knits her brows. "But she's my roommate. When did her guardian come?"
After hearing that, Namgung Yeon-Sik's lips purse into a thin line. He wouldn't even dream of this. The second roommate is none other than Mun Soyoon. One eccentric person is enough. Why did it have to be Mun Soyoon?
Jeong-Hyuk takes long strides toward the women's restroom. He stops at the door of the female restroom and knocks a few times.
A woman comes out and looks at him suspiciously. "Why are you knocking on the door?"
"Have you seen a young girl inside?" He asks her with a cool voice. "She looks around fourteen or fifteen. She has long dark hair and round eyes."
"There is nobody inside." The woman walks away from him.
He doesn't believe her. He steps into the restroom. He knocks each stall before looking inside. All of them are empty. Where did she go? He doesn't even have her number. He walks out of the restroom. His expression is calm, but his mind is in chaos. It hasn't been a day since he talked to her father.
"Fuck! Her vomit is all over me," A boy steps out of the male restroom, grumbling to himself in frustration. "before I could even start."
Jeong-Hyuk frowns. Following his hunch, he walks into the male restroom. There's no one inside. He turns around to leave when he hears a noise. The last stall is locked from outside. He steps toward the last stall with a bad feeling in his chest.
A bad stench welcomes him the moment he opens the door. He sees her sitting on the floor while clutching her stomach. Her clothes are drenched in her vomit. The marks on her lips and neck are enough to give him an idea of what could have happened to her.
Furious, he runs out of the restroom. He can't see the boy anywhere. Did that arsehole already leave? He returns to the restroom. The girl is vomiting again. He holds back her hair. "Why did you drink so much?"
She looks at him with half-opened eyes. "Old Mister, why are there two of you?"
He swallows his rage. "Are you hurt somewhere?"
"Achoo!" She sneezes and wipes her nose with her sleeve. "It's cold."
He sighs and takes off his coat. He wraps it over her while she pokes his cheek. "Old Mister, your facial hair is rough."
"Don't touch." He grabs her wrist. "Are you… never mind… I don't want to talk to a drunk kid."
"Old Mister!" She squints her eyes in anger. "If you keep calling me a kid, I will never tell you who Daydream is."
He freezes on the spot. Does she know? "Hey Kid, do you know what you are talking about?"
"Do you like her?" She leans on him and sniffs his clothes. "You smell bad, Old Mister."
"First of all, I don't like her. I like her voice." She groans when he carries her under his right arm and marches out of the restroom. She's lighter than his father's dog. Her head is hanging low. "And whose fault is that I smell bad?"
But Chang Seol has stopped listening to him. She flaps her arms and sings loudly, "I am flying. I am flying so high. Moon is mine and stars are my friends."
"..."
"Old Mister, look at my wings. I have wings." She laughs with bright eyes. "I am a chicken."
Why chicken? He doesn't bother asking. Sin Jeong-Hyuk opens the door of the car and dumps her on the back seat. His clothes are also covered with her vomit. He wonders what he is doing.
The smell assaults his nose. He needs a cigarette.
After a while, Yeon-Sik comes out of the restaurant with the red-headed girl who is babbling something incoherent. Jeong-Hyuk raises his brow. Yeon-Sik helps her get into the back seat. Mun Soyoon hugs the small bundle on the back seat and falls asleep with a smile.
"Are you hooking up with drunk girls now?" Jeong-Hyuk wrinkles his nose. "What will Eun-Bi do to you?"
"She's also staying at the share-house." Yeon-Sik leans against the car with his hands in his pockets, sighing. "Seol Ah's roommate."
"So, that's how she knows the art students." Jeong-Hyuk glances at the bundle wrapped in his coat. Did she speak the truth? Is it possible that she knows who Daydream is?
"Did something happen in the restroom?" Yeon-Sik lights a cigarette and stares at the neon lights. If she were here, she would have been mad at him for smoking.
Jeong-Hyuk grabs his cigarette. "I need it."
"Something must have happened."
"You didn't get the chicken feet."
"Go and get them yourself." Yeon-Sik gets into the car. "Unlike you, I need some sleep."
He will ask her tomorrow. Jeong-Hyuk tosses the cigarette butt on the concrete and crushes it under his foot. He will find out tomorrow whether it was just a drunk talk or not.
