Sin Jeong-Hyuk clicks his tongue. "You drunkard! You are awake now. Do you know what you did yesterday?"
"Oppa, I want to know why did you lie to professor Namgung that you are Seol's guardian." Mun Soyoon narrows her eyes. "You can't be her guardian."
"Her father made me her guardian." Sin Jeong-Hyuk frowns. "Why are you surprised? I talked to her father yesterday. You can ask her for confirmation."
"Oh…" Mun Soyoon relaxes her shoulders. "You should have said it from the beginning. By the way, where is Seol?"
"She left already." Sin Jeong-Hyuk already dislikes the girl for getting that duckling drunk last night. "From now on, don't let her get drunk."
"I am sorry, Seol's guardian." Mun Soyoon bows apologetically. "I didn't expect her to drink that much. It was hard to believe that it was her first time. She emptied two bottles of Soju by herself. I should have stopped her."
It's no wonder that the duckling was in that state. Since this girl knows her wrongs, he will forgive her. "Don't let her out of your sight if she gets drunk again. Give me a call if that happens."
"You worry so much." Mun Soyoon walks to him and smiles at him. "Let's exchange our contact numbers, Oppa. I will become your eyes at university."
"Ah, okay." There's already Yeon-Sik in university though. But Yeon-Sik has better things to do than keep an eye on a little kid. Since that duckling knows who Voiceless Identity is, she is already an important person to him.
Anyway, the older generation should be responsible for the younger generation until the younger generation can tell the difference between something bad and good. Jeong-Hyuk tells her the contact number. "Don't let her get drunk. Don't let her go to the male restroom. Keep her away from the bad influence."
"Alright." Mun Soyoon sends a text to Jeong-Hyuk's phone. "I will do that."
"And don't be a bad influence on her." Jeong-Hyuk tells her with a stern voice, "Don't teach her bad stuff."
"Yes, yes." Mun Soyoon's eyes curve into crescent moons. "Oppa, do you know that there's nothing free in this world?"
"Huh?" Jeong-Hyuk raises his brow. What does she want?
"I will become your eyes and ears in the university." Mun Soyoon presses her palms together. "I will use everyone in my network to keep her protected from the bad influences. I will report to you about her every day. But, I also need something in return."
She's going a little far. He doesn't want to keep an eye on that little kid like a stalker. But it's also a fact that the duckling can't tell the difference between hickeys and bed bug bites. "Just say it."
"Oppa, you have a beautiful body." Mun Soyoon takes a step closer and hovers her hands over his chest. "Carved out of a beautiful stone by a brilliant sculptor."
The strange look in her eyes seems a little familiar to him. He's a little afraid. Jeong-Hyuk backs away from her. "What the hell do you want?"
"Seol's purity fits the concept of innocence perfectly. " Mun Soyoon bites her lower lip, torn between her choices. "But your eyes are so straightforward. I can't decide who I want. How about both of you become my models?"
This is worse than he imagined. Be a model? This is not happening in his lifetime. Even if he wants to keep an eye on that child for his selfish reasons, he would never ever become a model for an eccentric girl who is quite similar to him. "I don't want to."
"Oppa!" Mun Soyoon sits down on her knees. "Please… my life depends on this. Seol and you will look beautiful together."
"Why would I look beautiful with that kid?" Jeong-Hyuk snaps at her. "Find someone else. I am already busy."
"Hyung, you spend your day and night at home." Bong-Su finally gets the chance to chime in. If he helps this girl, he will get on her good side. "You should help someone who is passionate about her studies."
"Why don't you help her?" Jeong-Hyuk gives a deadly look at Boo Bong-Su.
"No, he won't do." Mun Soyoon shakes her head at him. "He is not suitable for the theme. I need someone like you. You are perfect as a pied piper."
"I am not doing it." Jeong-Hyuk crosses his arms.
"Then, I will invite Seol for dinner tonight." Mun Soyoon cocks her head and smiles. "Seol is so cute. She's a perfect loli. Isn't that right, Oppa?"
"L-Loli?" Bong-Su widens his eyes. "A real one? Can I see her picture?"
He smacks the back of Bong-Su's head. "What did I tell you earlier?"
"Who cares?" Bong-Su runs to Mun Soyoon's side. "Miss, I am Boo Bong-Su. May I have your name?"
"Mun Soyoon." She shakes his hand. "We have similar interests."
Boo Bong-Su holds her soft hand tightly. "Mun Soyoon-ssi, do you have her picture? I am curious about her."
"I do." Mun Soyoon gives a side-way glance to Jeong-Hyuk who is watching them with rage in his eyes. She swipes through the pictures on her phone. She did take a few pictures with Seol yesterday night. "Here, she is a little drunk in this one… but isn't she adorable?"
"She's totally my type." Boo Bong-Su whistles. "How old is she, Mun Soyoon? Does she have a boyfriend?"
"Namgung Yeon-Sik!" Sin Jeong-Hyuk yells at the top of his lungs. "Come here at this instant."
In his room, Namgung Yeon-Sik is in the middle of buttoning his shirt when he hears Jeong-Hyuk's bellowing. Did something happen? That insomniac never screams like this. He dashes out of his room. When he sees Mun Soyoon and Boo Bong-Su, he could guess what could have happened. She must have asked Jeong-Hyuk to become her model.
He turns his back to Mun Soyoon when she looks at him and quickly buttons up his shirt. "What's happening here?"
"Professor, why are you here?" Mun Soyoon gestures at him. "I thought that you left after dropping me here last night."
"I live here," Namgung Yeon-Sik tells her with a straight face. He glances at Jeong-Hyuk who looks like he's on the verge of going on a killing spree. "What happened to you?"
"He's just being him." Boo Bong-Su walks toward him. "Yeon-Sik Hyung, have you seen the legal lolita? She is our housemate."
"Legal lolita?" Namgung Yeon-Sik furrows his brows, confused. "What is that?"
"Girls who are at a legal age but they look younger than eighteen." Boo Bong-Su explains to him, "Mun Soyoon showed me her picture. She has beautiful hair. My hands are itching to style her hair."
This boy… It's no wonder that Jeong-Hyuk is furious. Namgung Yeon-Sik releases his breath.
"Bong-Su, don't bother her, okay? You can't touch her hair. Don't even think about luring her with free haircuts. If you do that, I will complain about you to Mr Park."
"It's not a problem if she's fine with it." Boo Bong-Su pouts.
"It's a huge problem, especially if she is fine with it." Jeong-Hyuk glowers at him. "If she knew how horrible you are, she would never agree. My hair looks like this because of you."
"No, No, No, Hyung, that's not my fault." Boo Bong-Su shakes his finger at him. "You don't take care of yourself. You haven't cut your hair for a long time. You look like a man who has given up on his life."
"I disagree." Mun Soyoon says, "If he hasn't taken care of himself, he would not have such a beautiful body."
"It's genetic, Soyoon." Boo Bong-Su tells her, "Everyone from his family has that frame. I wish I was born in his family."
"Enough." Jeong-Hyuk's head is throbbing. Legal lolita? What the hell! He didn't even know that there's such a word. "Yeon-Sik, let's kick this girl out."
"You can't." Mun Soyoon winks at Jeong-Hyuk. "I already made the payment. In fact, it's Seol who has to leave because I am not going to leave at any rate. Think about it. A little girl like her alone in the city? Tsk! Tsk! Oppa, you are so heartless."
"Yeon-Sik." Jeong-Hyuk glares at his friend. "Why didn't you tell me that we let a snake come into this house?"
"I didn't let her in." Yeon-Sik raises his hand. If it was in his power, he would have never let her in. "Nobody is going to leave this house. One of the rules of this house is that we can't interfere in each other's life. Let's respect each other and coexist peacefully."
"Yeon-Sik Hyung, we are not interfering. We are only getting to know each other." Bong-Su hides behind Mun Soyoon when Yeon-Sik scowls at him.
"Mun Soyoon, why are you still here? Aren't you late for the class?" Namgung Yeon-Sik asks her with a strict voice.
"I don't have a morning class today." Mun Soyoon bats her eyes and speaks with a smooth tone, "Professor, isn't it fate? We are living in the same house. If I had known that you live here, I would have come here ages ago."
Among the hundreds of students, why is it this girl? He ignores her and turns to Jeong-Hyuk. "No fighting."
His friend is siding with that snake. Jeong-Hyuk's happy mood has turned sour. A restless feeling returns to his chest. He goes back to his room and slams the door.
What should he do with this manchild? Yeon-Sik lets out an exasperated sigh. Among all the younger ones, he's worried about his friend the most. A girl like Mun Soyoon is bound to get into a head-butting battle with this manchild. Well, Jeong-Hyuk used to be like her once.
