Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Safety First

Finally inside the hospital, Sandra was oblivious to the chaos her appearance had made outside, as she ventured further into the building and entered her office.

Inside, several doctors were anxiously waiting for her arrival.

All of them were middle-aged men that had once thought bringing a woman into the team, and at such a young age, would negatively impact the reputation of the hospital. But clearly, they were proven wrong, as they were now the ones waiting on this young lady hand-and-foot, instead of the other way round.

So when Sandra entered, all of these men jumped to their feet. Her heavy gaze landed on every single one of them, as they shifted weight from one foot to the other.

"Morning, gentlemen."

"Good morning, Dr.Adams!"

"...."

As soon as the words had exited her lips, they were reciprocated almost eagerly, and way too fast. It immediately seemed suspicious.

Sandra dismissed it to the back of her mind.

After half and hour, almost fifteen men were seen to be exiting one office, all of them swearing bullets. That woman sure could be scary when she wanted!

Inside the office sat Sandra. Because of the recent influx of patients, her schedule was fuller than normal.

It was going to be a very long day.

As Sandra got ready to see her first patient, who was a contractor of the virus, Dr.Leon entered her office.

"Morning Dr.Adams."

"Good morning Dr.Leon. How can I help you?"

"I wanted to assist you with your first patient. We do not have any further information on this virus as of yet, so for now, we are to make observations concerning the patients.

We do not know how contagious this virus is, so we are requiring all staff to wear protective gear. Any staff interacting with patients first-hand are required to wear hazmat suits. We have never seen this before, so we need to make sure all of our staff are safe and following full safety procedures. Are there any questions?"

"No. I understand. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of things soon."

"I hope so, too. Let's see how this day goes."

"Okay."
