What does Varick have to do with this? I know I saw his world just then…
Should I tell them?
Swirling emotions began to run through his mind as he tried to piece together what he saw. He decided to leave it for now until he could find out what was going on. It was clear to him that they three had a destiny. He just didn't know how or why.
Snapping back to reality after being able to clearly hear the concern in everyone's voices again he promptly shook his head quickly to gain his composure.
"I'm ok, let's go Varick."
After reassuring everyone Kirin, Varick, and himself started working on magic practice to see if Varick had any ability. Unbeknownst to Jun, Varick saw everything that flashed into Jun's mind. It was the other reason he didn't break free from his grip. He would occasionally steal glances at Kirin from time to time, then to Jun. He figured it out already, Jun was Kirin's brother, and if he was right, they had no idea about it! Varick kept quiet for now, he had no idea how to explain what he knew.
As the trio settled, Jun started explaining the basics, how to feel it, imagine it, verbiage, and gestures. He started with a very basic command, charging energy into a ball in the palm of one's hand. This technique was simple and required little to no effort.
Varick sat in a lotus position and focused, as he delved into his thoughts he saw a tiny ball of light, he made sure to voice out everything to Jun and Kirin. Then he mentally grabbed a piece of it and made it travel to his right hand. Once there he made it exit his hand and sit in his palm in a spherical shape, as he opened his eyes and looked at his hand, his eyes grew as wide as saucers when it was really there! A small ball of purple energy sat there swirling in his palm. Kirin was beyond shocked, she collected herself and spoke to him calmly, "Varick aimed a rock or tree away from us and threw the ball at it, that will show us the strength, type, and control you have."
He chucked the ball over fifty meters before it struck a tree and exploded in bolts of lighting streaks that incinerated the tree instantly. Every single person in the group sat dazed staring at the aftermath with their mouths wide open.
"Um.. that didn't just happen did it? Tell me I didn't just make a tree go 'poof' with that tiny ball?" 'My world has no magic, what the heck is this!!!???' He inwardly questioned himself as this was just too strange. How can he do this?
"Emm, Varick… are you sure magic doesn't exist in your world? Or has it just been forgotten?" Kirin, the first to recover from the newest shock, asked him.
"There were stories and myths from ancient times but, this… I don't know.. the society is based on technology and science! Not tiny balls of light decimating whatever it touches!"
A huge smile formed on her lips. "Varick it seems, because of your world no longer acknowledging magic, that you are a descendant of a powerful magic caster. One who has been forgotten over time. This… this is good news!"
'Am I sure I'm not dreaming!? This Is impossible, why would I not know of this?'
The events came to a close after a little more instruction and the group fell into a deep sleep.
