Chapter 1 - Awake

Eyes fluttering, light slowly seeping in. Cold, frosty air filling new lungs, expanding for the first time. Life, if you could call it that, began for her. Pale as snow limbs slowly and stiffly begin to move, self awareness begging to follow. She was awake.

The forest was filled with the sounds of chirping birds, trickling streams, and nature. The winds blew through the trees, making them dance in a whimsical way. She watched as butterflies gently passed by without a care in the world. What was her purpose? Where was she? Who is she, and better yet, what was she? These were the questions she continued to ponder while sitting, watching nature at the Riverside. There was a small pond filled with colourful fish that was fed by the river, a treat for her new eyes appreciating the fresh and vivid environment. It was far more magical of a sight then the cave she had crawled out of hours before. The small female looked at her reflection. Pale skin, so white that the sun's rays may just be reflected. Long, straight, silky silver hair, that had a slight pink tinge to it. A small nose and petite puckered lips accompanied two large silver eyes. They looked sharp, unlike the rest of her doll like features, and held an air of caution almost as if to warn others not to come too close.

She stared at her reflection for hours, bewitched by her own beauty and curiousity. The sun began to fall and the air began to chill once again. The small girl retreated to the cave she had awoke in, instinct driving her to seek shelter for the night. There she sat, alone and awake. A head filled with questions, and no answers. Just as it began, her first day of 'life' ended.

Far away from the forest, 'Seers' around the globe were filled with terrible nightmares and visions of a future covered in flames. Civilization as they knew it had crumbled, people were starving, and creatures from the abyss hunted the few survivors. Hellfire burst through the ground and lava overtook cities. The seas angrily raged, sinking ships and swallowing landscapes. The winds tore the trees and crops from the earth, leaving it barren and dry. Rain had ceased to fall, and life was diminishing quickly. Amongst it all was a figure of a woman, with wild and untamed eyes that seemed to pearce through the very souls of the Seers. All of them were positive. Positive that this vision was the path the world was moving towards, and that the woman in their nightmare was a key figure in this future. They were sure that this was the beginning of the end.
