Only a few minutes past as she observed him. She caught herself and panickedly told herself she needed to look occupied or else he might suddenly see her staring. She busied herself with aimless cuts on her stick. She moved faster and faster until suddenly her knife slipped and tumbled down the rock. Right towards the boy! Thankfully it was only skidding down and not a throw. It stopped safely next to him.
She cringed slightly then looked down at her random carving. She heard the sound of leaves crunching and looked up to find a slightly quizzical face looking at her.
"I think this fell from your direction." Was his intro.
"I believe so." Was her top of the head witty reply. There was a slight awkward pause between the two of them.
"I've got one too."
"Ooo sweet knife. Whatcha making?"
"Nothing really, just randomly carving."
"Hehe me too."
His name was Theodore, or Theo for short. They made conversation until 5:30 and surprisingly didn't run out of topics. Ashley made sure to ask if he visits this park often. Luckily it was his favorite and gave her a grin as they parted for their family dinners.
