Chapter 31 - The Pact Is Completed

Jack cut his hand with a knife as his children drew around them in a circle, watching Magnus do what they had already done. All except one had done this, for he was Jack's biological son. His blood dripped into a bowl that was moved under Magnus' hand.

Magnus received the knife from Jack, and proceeded to cut his own hand with the knife, watching the blood gush forth from a cut that went a little too deep. It would be fine though, because he could heal himself.

As soon as his own blood entered the bowl, the mixture of liquids turned colors. It went from the blood red to a bright green to a deep blue and settled on a dark, royal purple.

Magnus knew not the meaning, but he grew frustrated as the wound on his palm would not heal.

"My boy, that wound will not heal through Administrative abilities. It will only heal with time. You see, that blade was a ceremonial blade forged of an amalgamation of metals from over five hundred dominions and blessed by the entirety of the council. It was made and blessed before I even existed!

"Oh, yes. As you know, I was booted out of my dominion quite a while ago. Thus, I am now considered to be retired and so I sit on the council. Administrators cannot die unless ended, I think you know that much. And so, if we are not ended, we just enjoy our existence of retirement and responsibility of the council.", Jack informed him, naturally knowing Magnus more about this because he was born an Administrator.

"So, now that I'm your son, what do you want me to do?", Magnus asked, wanting to get straight to the point. His time as a soldier taught him not to waste any time.

"I want you to get situated. We can't have you doing anything while tired, now can we?", Jack giggled to himself, and continued, "So follow my only biological child to the room you will be sharing. I think you have already met him, but introductions are probably still necessary."

Then a child walked up to Magnus. It was the same child that he had been telling stories to in the dungeon.

"Daddy, why did you bring the man from the dungeon into our home?", the child asked.

"Now look, Finny, he is going to be one of your siblings, OK?", Jack said to the child, crouching down to look at him straight in the eyes. "Just be nice to him like the others, and maybe he will tell you more stories!"

"Really?!", Finny turned from Jack and looked up at Magnus, his eyes sparkling again.

"Yeah, sure. Whatever you want.", responded Magnus, surveying his environment.

They were currently on the second floor, which you could reach by going up either stair case at both sides of the main entrance. All of the floors were covered with a dark red carpet, and there were no stains to be seen, despite having over 20 children walking over it every day.

Down the hallway to either side, there were at least twenty rooms total. From experience, Magnus knew that there was a guest room and a bath on the first floor. He also assumed that the first floor is where the servants slept, as well as where the dining room and kitchen were.

There were no need for restrooms, as Admins didn't need to use them, and Magnus didn't either. His promotion to Admin status had removed that feature of his body.

Finny started walking down the hall. Magnus assumed that it was short for something, but couldn't find out. The reason he had been able to glean information off of Russel at all was because it was a trap set by Jack, known as the General at the time.

In reality, Administrators could only glean info off of the people in their dominion. Thus, if Jack had seen Magnus at the camp for long enough, he would've been able to figure out that Magnus was an Administrator that way.

Magnus had no dominion, but Jack had told him on there way to the estate that he could have the council assign a dominion to him.

He had no idea what Jack was up to, but as he followed Finny down the left hall, he looked back at Jack, who had a smile sprawled across his face.

"Here's my room!", Finny said, as they arrived at the room. Magnus was startled that they had bunk beds in this world, but quickly thought it made sense.

The room had a light grey colored carpet, differing from the red carpet in the hall. Magnus looked around the room and found two dressers, one at each side of the bunk bed. He assumed one was empty, meant for him.

Because it was left empty, Magnus deduced that either Jack's servants were incredibly efficient or that Jack had been plotting this all. It was a possibility that he had given up his dominion in exchange for who knows what to the new Administrator of earth.

Then, Jack would send his son to the imprisoned Administrator, so that he could find out who it was, as Magnus' identity was kept secret from the Administrator population and most council members.

Magnus said to Finny, "Alright, I get bottom bunk. I'm too tall for the top bunk."

Finny smiled at Magnus and said, "That's good! I was already using top bunk before you got here!"

That confirmed his suspicions. Unless Jack gave Finny a bunk bed because Finny asked for one and this was all coincidence, that would be a big coincidence. But Magnus knew Jack was a plotting Administrator.

Thus, Magnus made up his mind that this was all planned. So why did Jack have so many adopted children? They were probably going to be his own private army, and it just got a whole lot stronger with Magnus here.

So, Magnus took off his suit and put it in the dresser. It just so happened that the dresser was not empty, but a pair of pajamas were stored in there for him.

Magnus got changed and crawled into the bottom bunk, and Finny climbed the ladder and got in the top bunk.

Magnus knew that Admins didn't sleep, but they still rested. He didn't know what they did, but he didn't care. He was so sleepy he couldn't keep his eyes open while standing

As he was falling asleep, Magnus heard Finny whisper to him, "So, what happened after you made sure the Deutsche boys didn't pull a fast one on you?"

Magnus whispered back, immediately being energized by his memories, reminiscing his past once again, "Well, I fell asleep. When I woke up..."
