Back at the office.
A couple of minutes after Mitsuki left, Natsuki came. Diana, the secretary didn't let Natsuki into Mitsuki's office per orders, this made Natsuki mad and started throwing a tantrum inside the office. In the eyes of the other employees she seemed to be immature and incapable to run a company. Everyone chose to ignore her and to continue their work, none of them wanted to get in trouble for their incompetence.
"Let me in!"
"I'm sorry but i can't let you inside, it's per Miss, Soo's orders, no one is allowed in here while Miss, Soo is away"
"LET ME IN OR I'LL HAVE YOU FIRED!!"
Diana didn't budge, she knew who Natsuki was and she also knew her intentions were not pure. By this time Mitsuki had arrived at the company, the moment she stepped out of the elevator she heard something that made her even more frustrated.
" I am her mother! Why am i not allowed to see my daughter?!"
From across the room Mitsuki yelled:
"You are not and never will be!"
When the employer's saw that Mitsuki was bak they stood up to salute and quickly sat down. They knew trouble was brewing when they saw that Mitsuki returned. Everyone in the company knew that Natsuki was Mitsuki's stepmother, but none of them respected her as a stepmother rather she got the treatment of a mistress. Everyone in the company knew Mitsuki's birthmother, everyone enjoyed her company, and the way she set things up. Everyone was devastated when she passed, When they heard about Natsuki and Leiko they all got equally frustrated as Mitsuki but still felt pity on her.
"You'd better have a good reason to come to my office and make a scene"
"I wouldn't have made a scene if she had let me in, you should fire her for her incompetence, she even tried to lie and tell me you said no one could enter-"
Mitsuki cut her off, she already had a headache from the scene at the coffee shop and now she had to deal with Natsuki.
"Incompetence? Hah, I told her not to let anyone in my office. I don't need you in my office, I don't need to speak to you, I am not obliged to listen to what you have to say unless it's concerning my father."
"It is about your father, he said to come home by 7 to have dinner with us"
"And you couldn't call me to tell me this? Did you have to come by the company to tell me this? Your wasting my time so i suggest you to leave the company or i'll have security escort you out"
And with that mtsuki walked straight into her office, Diana followed but quickly left to get some pain killers for Mitsuki. Natsuki stormed off and left. As soon as the elevator shut, all the employees started cheering for Mitsuki and the room suddenly became livelier than before, all the employees started small conversations but still stayed on task.
Inside the office.
'Ugh…. i have a headache…, i wonder what father has to say'
Fast Forward to 6pm.
*Mitsuki checks the time*
'Geez it's this late already..'
Everyone had already clocked out of work. Mitsuki quickly clocked out and took a cab to her house to get freshened up. She didn't freshen up a lot, only enough to make it seem like she was ok. Mitsuki got in her car and headed towards the family villa.
When she arrived.
As soon as she stepped through the door she saw many familiar people.
She greeted everyone including the maids, the chefs, the gardener, ect. When she was done greeting everyone, she went to her room to check if everything was in place and to her surprise everything was, she thought Leiko would at least throw a tantrum for the keys. In Mitsuki's eyes that was very suspicious, inside college Leiko always tries to make her life miserable but always fails to no avail.
Mitsuki left her room and went to the dinning room where she met her Father, Natsuki, Leiko, and logan. Logan is her ex, so she was surprised to see him there but she didn't care if he was there. It was Leiko's business anyways. As soon as Mitsuki sat down Father started the conversation.
"How are you Mitsuki?"
"I'm fine dad, how are you?Have you controlled your sugar a little more?"
"Haha you still worry about me at this age? I'm alright my sugar levels have leveled out."
"Of course I worry at this age, I'm your daughter, why wouldn't I?, but why did you call us all today if something is wrong?"
"You've always liked to get straight to the point, I guess some things never change huh?, then I'll get straight to it. Your sister is engaged to log in here and I want you to attend the wedding. I know you two don't get along very well but will you do it for me?"
"..... Alright i'll go, but you didn't have to ask me, i would've gone regardless, i know that you'll probably invite some benefactors and make the wedding big, of course the host of the party can't have a missing family member at the wedding. Am i right?"
"You get smarter and smarter as the years go by, good you understand"
Mitsuki quickly faced Leiko and logan and said:
"Although we have our ups and downs, I want to say congratulations on your marriage. May you have a blissful marriage."
Leiko was furious and snapped at Mitsuki.
"You!.... Don't act so innocent around dad, I know you're jealous of me because I took your boyfriend and now he's going to be my husband!"
As soon as Leiko finished she covered her mouth quickly. She didn't tell her father any of that, she only told him that her and her boyfriend love each other and wished for a blessing to get married.
"What do you mean "took your boyfriend"?! Explain this now!"
Dad was furious, Mitsuki was quick and took action.
"I'll explain dad but first calm down before you pass out."
"Alright"
After a couple of deep breaths.
"Alright i've calmed down, will you explain to me now?"
"Yes. Me and Logan have been going out since our last year of high school. I found out he was cheating on me with several girls two years ago, I said nothing. A day or two ago we broke up, I don't blame him and I hold no grudges against him. I'm actually happy about their marriage."
"Leiko are you sure you want to marry him?"
"Yes, and i'll never change him. She's only acting as if she cares. Don't be such a hypocrite."
"You can believe it if you want. I don't care. I can't force you to believe me. If you want proof i have proof"
Natsuki interfered and started talking about the company.
"So how is the company Mitsuki?"
"The company is actually doing better, stocks have actually risen over the past two months"
Father: "Really well that's good, oh and Mitsuki your grandfather is coming here in two days i want you to go and pick him up from the airport, he'll stay here for three years."
"Grandpa is coming?! Well this'll be fun. I haven't seen him in five years!"
Leiko, Natsuki, and Logan were all confused and they all asked the same question.
"Who is this grandpa you speak of"
Father responded before Mitsuki could even say anything.
"It's her mother's father…"
They all grew silent. They knew they couldn't do anything because they were in no way related to each other. They accepted the fact and just continued to eat.
By the time they finished it was already late into the night so Mitsuki could only stay for the night. She was very reluctant to sleep there but it was late so she had no other option. She wasn't sleepy so she walked downstairs and made herself some tea and took out her laptop to do some work. Mitsuki was used to pulling all nighters so she had no problem staying up.
At around 3am.
Mitsuki was still up, she was on her 10th cup of tea. Mitsuki stood up to stretch and then she heard someone walking down the stairs, she looked up and to her surprise, it was her father. He felt something was wrong so he sat down in front of her.
"Mitsuki what are you doing still up?, you should be sleeping"
"Ah sorry, i couldn't sleep so i started working. Did i wake you?"
"Haha no you didn't, I woke up for a glass of water, how come you couldn't sleep, is everything alright?"
"Ah it's nothing i just wasn't tired so i wanted to work to tire myself out but i ended up staying up later than usual "
They both fell silent. They haven't seen each other in months so they didn't know what to talk about. If they talked about their personal life it would seem as if they were meddling into each other's business. If they talked about the company it would seem as if they only care about profit and not about each other so they stayed quiet, until father started a conversation.
"It's almost her birthday, will you go to her?"
"If you're talking about mom then, yes i will go to her grave, but are you gonna come this year or will you not come again this year?"
"I won't go… it hurts too much…"
"You haven't gone to see her since my sophomore year of highschool. When are you going to see her?. It hurts me even more knowing that my mother's husband is not willing to see his wife. How do you think that makes me feel huh?"
"I'm sorry sweetheart, i'll visit her when i am ready but for now i'm not ready"
"It's your decision not mine alright, just know that i love you dad don't ever forget that."
"I love you too sweetheart"
And with that they both headed to bed.
