The next morning.
It was around 7am, everyone was up by then. Mitsuki was the first one up despite having less hours of sleep, but Mitsuki felt fine, she was used to it. She had classes that morning at 10 but she still woke up early to get work done ahead of time. When Mitsuki's Father and grandpa saw her up doing more work, they grew sad. They knew Mitsuki had stayed up that night, so when they saw her doing more work they felt as if they put pressure on her.
Mitsuki had her breakfast quickly and headed out the door. Mitsuki had to stop by her house to get her things, then she had to meet up with Diana for the reports. By the time she finished a small amount of her work it was about time for her to head to class so she parted ways with Diana.
Mitsuki headed to class feeling refreshed and better than ever. As she walked onto campus grounds, everyone was stunned. The boys stared, the girls started with envy. Mitsuki wasn't over dressed nor was she under dressed, but enough to make her clothes look as if they were office ready. She wore high waisted jeans, a white long sleeved crop top, black shoes, and a black book bag to top it off.
As Mitsuki stepped into class she saw the professor still wasn't there so she thought he was going to be late. Everyone took advantage of the fact that the professor was late and went into little groups. Everyone turned to Mitsuki's direction and started whispering. Then they all turned to the back of the class only to find that her ex, Logan, and her step sister, Leiko, in the back holding hands. Mitsuki paid no mind to them and headed toward the middle area of the class and sat down.
In that class she only had chika with her, so she sat right next to her. They both started talking naturally as if nothing was wrong, as people saw that they started jumping to two main conclusions:
"Are they fighting?"
"Did they break up?"
After a while they decided to drop the subject and pay no mind to them.
It made Leiko mad seeing that no one was criticizing Mitsuki. She had planned to sit in the back with Logan to make her jealous, but to her surprise she didn't care. Then she started realizing that Mitsuki really didn't care about what she did, It made her go into deep thought. On the other hand Logan was thinking of ways on how to get back together with Mitsuki.
Logan knew that Mitsuki was the successor to Soo company, so he was thinking deeply on how to impress Mitsuki and try to get her back. In the past Mitsuki was easy going and would've been fooled easily. After Mitsuki revealed that she knew he was with numerous girls, he started contemplating if she was still the same Mitsuki from high school. He was in deep thought that he didn't even realize all the whispers around him.
The professor came in shortly after and started his two hour long lecture.
2 hours later.
Everyone got up and headed to either the cafeteria, their next lecture, their dorm, the library, ect. Mitsuki was on her way to meet up with Diana again to go over some more documents before her next lecture, when suddenly she heard her name being called out. Mitsuki was in her last year of college so she thought they were calling out of someone else, as her name is pretty common. Then they called again but louder, Mitsuki still paid no mind until the voice called out her full name.
"Mitsuki Soo, stop right there!"
Mitsuki turned around a little surprised, But as soon as she turned around her face turned a little gloomy. It was the director of the school. Mitsuki thought to herself, what could be so important that the director of the school would come out to personally talk to her. The director sprinted across the hall way to catch up to Mitsuki. As the director caught up with Mitsuki, he took a couple of seconds to catch his breath and compose himself.
"Let's talk privately"
"Alright"
They headed to the director's office.
As soon as they both sat down , things got serious. Mitsuki was worried that it had to do with her attendance.
"The reason why you're here is because we received a phone call from your stepmother about your father…"
He hesitated a bit which made Mitsuki worry.
"What about my father? Is everything alright? Did something happen to him?"
".. He was in a car accident as he was on his way to the company. The police think it might've been attempted murder, the car rammed into your father's. They need you at the hospital for questioning since you're closer to him. You may have a week long to settle things down if you wish."
Mitsuki was quick to understand and quickly surprised the director with her reaction to her answer.
"No need, I only need three days. I'll leave now to get things done quickly. Thank you for informing me but a week is too long. I still have to keep my role as a student here and I can't neglect my duties here. Thank you, i'll take my leave now."
And with that she left. She called Diana right away to ask which hospital her father was in. She quickly received the information and left straight to the hospital.
When she arrived.
Natsuko was already there when she got there so she decided to put her grudges against her aside and quickly asked how he was.
"How is he?!"
"He just got out of surgery, The doctor said his survival chance was a 50/50% chance..!"
"50% chance…."
When Mitsuki heard that she started breathing heavily, had a hard time comprehending what was going on, everything was spinning around her, she felt nauseous. Natsuko was quick to realize Mitsuki's actions and called for a doctor, and before her eyes Mitsuki had passed out.
One hour later.
"Ugh… what happened?..."
"Oh you're awake now?"
There was a snap in those words. It took Mitsuki a while to come back to reality. She saw Leiko inside the room, she was surprised to even see her there, in HER room. Mitsuki was suspicious, but put it aside and asked about his father.
"How is he?"
"His condition barely stabilized. He woke up five minutes ago-"
Mitsuki quickly got up without letting Leiko finish her sentence.
"Hey get back in here!"
Mitsuki ignored her and headed to her father's ward.
"Dad!?"
"Mitsuki… are you alright? I heard you passed out, are you injured anywhere?"
"That doesn't matter right now!, are you alright?"
Natsuko interfered.
"His condition is alright according to the doctor, there's nothing to worry about for now."
When Mitsuki heard the news she sat next to her father's bed, and started sobbing. This hurt her father very much, he hated seeing Mitsuki cry. On the other hand Natsuko felt envious of the scene before her. What she didn't tell Mitsuki was that the first thing he said when he had woken up, was that he started calling out her name. When Natsuko heard that she was furious, she had done everything in her power to get rid of Mitsuki's mother.
She tries her best to get his heart to make him love her wholly, to the point that he would only know her name. Natsuko has planned everything since day one. Natsuko was in deep thought that she didn't realize that both Mitsuki and her father had fallen asleep holding hands.
Half an hour passed and Mitsuki had woken up. I was still early in the afternoon, she had already received many phone calls from Diana, chika, ae-chan, and from the dreadful Logan. She quickly called Diana to ask what was wrong, when Diana told her what was going on she quickly grabbed all her things and left.
