Chapter 44 - Rune Forging 4

Li Tian chose another random master copy and started to write it out once again. The same thing happened again and the runic symbol flowed across the paper like fish in open water. Why was this the case? Wang Li Tian took some time to think through the experience that he was feeling. Already, the night crept in. Elder Long had already given the young boy a sleeping mattress and an oil lamp to keep him company through the night. The old man looked at Wang Li Tian through a Scouting Array. The boy had basically not move from his position since this morning. All he did was stare at a blank wall. He was completely still. It looked like he was stoning and daydreaming.

Was this task really too tough for my disciple? Long Tang Yun shook his head in concern. It was a pity that someone with such talent in Mental Will was unable to memorise information easily. Li Tian's Senior disciple sister, Xin Shu Yi watched from behind too. She sighed when watching the melancholy-looking junior brother of hers. There wasn't much she could do for him in this aspect. Every artificer has to go through this process.

"Shu Yi, it is getting late, you should head back to the dormitory." Long Tang Yun spoke with a down-spirited tone.

"Is there anything I can do to help junior brother?" Xin Shu Yi continued to stare at the image of Li Tian.

"At the moment, not much. The food you prepared for him to eat is more than enough."

"Okay. Rest well, teacher." Xin Shu Yi bowed slightly and left the Prime Elder's home. Her heart was heavier than when she came in the morning.

The Prime Elder left the viewing room and headed back to his cultivation room. There isn't anything that he could do right now. All he could do was hope for the best. Long Tang Yun then started to cultivate his manual like every night. As Long Tang Yun was already in the Core Establishment Stage, there was no need for him to sleep anymore. He could simply rely on absorbing spiritual energy to revitalise his body.

Way past midnight, Wang Li Tian finally broke out of his thought process. Unbeknownst to his teacher and his senior sister, Li Tian had underwent an epiphany. He had thought back to the words of Elder Phoenix. The Demonic Beast Language… There was an uncanny resemblance between the Runic Symbols and the characters in the Demonic Beast Language.

Although the Demonic Beast Language had a total of 200 different characters and there were only 100 basic runic symbols, there was a trait hidden deep within the symbols. Wang Li Tian picked up the 'S' symbol that had a circle around it. When Prime Elder had drawn it just now, he had started on the 'S' letter before proceeding to draw a line down the middle and finally, a circle around it.

Wang Li Tian picked up his ink brush. Unlike Long Tang Yun, the boy did something unprecedented. Wang Li Tian wrote the left half of the symbol first, before writing the right half of the symbol. He left both half separated. His brain was working faster than never before. The epiphany from just now, struck him again. Everything became clear there and then.

"The runic symbols… They are formed by combining the two characters from the Demonic Beast Language…" Wang Li Tian whispered under his breath. Yet, the words that he spoke was heard by an entity far away on another mountain.

Elder Phoenix sat in his cavern with a tranquil smile on his face. Witnessing the young boy's discovery of the secrets within the runic symbols, it made the old bird very proud of him. There must be a reason why brother Dragon had taught him the ancient language that Demonic Beasts used. And that reason would probably be found in the boy's cultivation manual. That was what Elder Phoenix had deciphered from his elder brother's message. Drinking his tea, Elder Phoenix looked out of the cavern. As he stared at the countless stars in the sky, he sighed. Oh what will this young one achieve in this lifetime..

Immediately after Wang Li Tian had discovered the secrets of the runic symbols. Wang Li Tian started to jot down the 200 characters in the Demonic Beast language. After the time it takes for tea to brew, he managed to roughly write down the characters in the order that Mr. Dragon had taught him. Mr. Dragon emphasised to him that if he were to even write the characters out, he had to write it in order. It was engrained into the boy.

Placing all of the papers that contained the demonic beast characters on the floor, Wang Li Tian stood up and looked at it from above. The boy's eyes widen when he realised every two characters formed a Runic Symbol. It did that all the way till the end of the line. The two hundred characters from the Demonic Beast Language had eventually formed the one hundred runic symbols.
