Chapter 50 - Meaning Behind Truth Words 2

Xin Shu Yi soon came back with the thick book, 'Beginners Guide to Rune Forging'.

"Junior brother Li Tian, if you have any questions you can ask me. I will continue working on my scroll" Li Tian acknowledged. Placing it down on her table, the pair sat side by side and the boy started to flip through the book.

Rather than going by the conventional way of reading from the first page, Li Tian skipped to the page where the Runic Symbols were being described. The first symbol was 'Fÿr', which translated to Fire. On the page, the runic symbol was also described as the Fire Rune.

'Although the Fire Rune is classified under Glyphs (Offensive Runes), the Fire Rune is extremely versatile in terms of uses. The Fire Rune can be incorporated into Defensive Arrays or Defensive Scrolls, like the Flame Trap, Inferno Wall Scroll, Mist Array and many others. It is one of the five elements of nature and could even be used to create the legendary Five Elements Array.' The book continued to describe the rune for several pages. Wang Li Tian got bored of reading this the Fire Rune and decided to proceed onwards.

The subsequent 40 runes were all very similar to the real definition behind the Truth Words. Wang Li Tian only came to a halt when reading about a Protective Rune's description.

'Unknown Rune. The runes effects are still inconclusive after many trial and errors. Caution to those that attempt to use it. There is a high chance where the runes will explode. Assumed to be a protection rune for consistency in Runic Symbols.'

Of course Li Tian knew what the Truth Word meant. There were several different reasons why he thought that no one knew its meaning. Jùx, the Switch Rune. This was the 'S' runic symbol that Long Tang Yun drew for him yesterday. Not only that, the morning before the pair of disciples came, the Prime Elder was in the midst of trying to understand this Switch Rune. Even though Wang Li Tian wasn't very smart, he knew what Switch meant. If used in the wrong context, it could accidentally jumble up the Array formation. The only commendable part was that the past artificers had even managed to guess that this S rune was actually a protective rune.

Xin Shu Yi looked over occasionally. She realised that Li Tian had been fixated on the Unknown Rune for quite sometime now. Worried that the boy will get carried away, she quickly said to him, "This rune is very dangerous, junior brother. It is fine if you do not understand this."

"Mm… Okay." Wang Li Tian knew that his senior sister was warning him out of kindness. For now, he left this unknown rune in the back of his head.

The subsequent few runes had very similar definitions to the Truth Words. The only unknown rune was just the Switch Rune. When Wang Li Tian finished flipping through the entire book, it was only the afternoon. Xin Shu Yi noticed that Li Tian had already closed his book.

"You are finished?" She asked curiously.

"Yes. Can I try writing a runic symbol with spiritual energy?" This was something Wang Li Tian had been dying to try out. Hearing all about it before from Xin Shu Yi, made the boy all excited.

"Alright, since you want to try it out, let me give you a scroll to write on." Passing the boy, a Demonic Beast hide, she then continued speaking, "Would you like me to teach you the steps to inscribing?"

Wang Li Tian accepted her offer. Xin Shu Yi smiled and rolled up her sleeve. "The first step, which is also the most important step to inscribing a perfect Runic Symbol, is to clear your mind. The reason you have to have a peaceful mind when you are inscribing is because you are channeling your spiritual energy into the ink brush. If the supply of Spiritual Energy is not constant, the runic symbol would crash."

"When you have then sorted out, the next step is to start injecting spiritual energy into the ink brush. You know when you practice Sword Arts and you would treat the sword as an extension of your arm?" Wang Li Tian nodded and Xin Shu Yi continued speaking, "For this it is slightly different. You will have to treat the brush like an extension of your entire body, rather than just like your arm. The amount of spiritual energy needed requires absolute focus and you cannot just use part of your spiritual energy reserves."

"So, once you have started injecting in spiritual energy, you can start writing out the runic symbol. Do it in whatever order you feel is natural to you. For me, I learnt my steps from our teacher. I suggest as a safer option, you could first try writing the Combine Rune." Xin Shu Yi did the example Combine Rune for Li Tian. The boy could tell his senior sister had done a good job. The lines were perfect and the spiritual energy within the runic symbol was stable.

"Okay. Thank you for the advice, Senior sister Shu Yi." Li Tian turned back to look at his blank scroll. Closing his eyes, he focused immediately. Xin Shu Yi was astonished at how fast Li Tian was able to get into the zone. It was instantaneous. Wang Li Tian's Braveheart Manual had allowed him to attain the state of Calm Mind. Focusing was as simple as breathing, especially when there was no distractions around him.
