By now, basically everyone could tell that the School of Artificing wasn't a good choice. Even those that didn't know at the start, could tell right after the first ten students. For Wang Li Tian to study under Prime Elder Long Tian Yun, it could be seen as a good thing, since he would be a direct disciple. However, in the end, it was still under the School of Artificing. The Artificing school discipline was deemed as their number one weakest link in the entire Academy. Whenever they had competitions, the disciples would always attain last place. That says more or less the standards of the Elders in the School of Artificing.
The most puzzling part for everyone present, including the other Elders and Headmaster, was the motive behind Li Tian's choice. He had clearly displayed skills in the Sword Arts department. So why did he choose to study under Artificing?
When Wang Li Tian decided on choosing Long Tian Yun, the prime elder celebrated in his heart. Yes! I had secured myself a diamond in the rough! With the boy's strength and willpower, he will definitely become the next Artificing Master. Long Tian Yun knew that ability to run through the Spiritual Pressure Array was a testament of a strong Mental Will. Having a strong mental will can allow the cultivator to cultivate and improve in the toughest settings.
The reason for why no Elders except him, wanted to take Wang Li Tian under their wing was because of one simple reason. The boy had a close to negligible spiritual root. It would stump the boy eventually on his climb for a higher cultivation level. No one was willing to train someone who may become stuck at a certain cultivation level at any point in time. However, for Long Tian Yun's case, an Artificer's most important trait was not a strong cultivation level, but a strong mental will.
Many times an Artificer may get stuck on a problem with their array that they created. At that point, they must have the mental willpower and patiences to solve the underlying issues. Many artificers till this day have not figured out why they could never ascend to the next tier of Artificing. And that was because they improved themselves in the wrong direction.
With that last mind blowing conclusion, the second day Selection Test was over. The newly entered disciples would be sent to their respective schools by the Outer Disciples present. For the top 10 youths, they would be following the Headmaster to the Treasure Pavilion. Gathered up, everyone followed the old man along a winding path. On the way, Wang Li Tian finally had gotten a chance to talk to Jiang Rou Xuan.
Approaching with a smiley face, Li Tian tapped the same aged girl on the shoulder. Jiang Rou Lang was beside his sister as per normal. When he realised that Li Tian had came up to his sister, Rou Lang did not know how to react. What made made him more confused was when his sister had actively hug Li Tian. What the hell was going on?
"You're really alive?!" As Jiang Rou Xuan hugged Li Tian, she couldn't help but cry. Her tsunami of emotions came in all at once.
"Yeah. I'm alive big sis Rou Xuan." Li Tian hugged back tightly. He missed her deeply.
"Good, good."
Luckily, both of them were walking at the very back. If not, it would have been awkward that others had to wait for them to hug finish first before they could head up the steps.
"Hey! Who are you to hug my sister?" Rou Lang scowled, trying to break up the two individuals. He felt like a third wheel at that moment.
"You know my name. Don't you remember me anymore?" Wang Li Tian looked at Rou Lang indifferently.
"You.. It can't be.." Rou Lang knew that the boy's name was rather familiar, except it did not hit him until a few seconds later. "You're that weak little boy from before. How did you.."
"How did I get first place?"
Rou Lang gulped down his saliva, realising that the boy he had always bullied, had become someone that was stronger than him. Seeing that Rou Lang wasn't going to reply, Li Tian held onto Rou Xuan's hand and pulled her along upwards.
"Come on Big Sis Rou Xuan! Let us go to the treasury together!"
Rou Lang stood there speechlessly. Only after the pair had walked a fair bit away did he grit his teeth in anger. I refused to admit that the retard of our city had become this strong! I refuse!
…
"So what had happened to you four years ago?" Rou Xuan asked a question while holding onto Li Tian's hand. She could not wait any longer and had to get an answer from him.
And so, Li Tian tried his best to summarise his four years. From the time he was abandoned by his parents, to the time that he saved a random man in any alleyway, to the time that he got himself a master that taught and trained him into the boy he was today. The things that Li Tian said were simply unimaginable to Rou Xuan. All these seemed a little impossible. What are the chances that her little brother managed to find himself a super strong master that taught him the way of the Sword?
"Anyways, I'm happy and glad that you are still alive and well." Rou Xuan sighed in relief that Li Tian was perfectly healthy. A weight had finally been lifted off her shoulders.
"Are you surprised at how strong I had gotten?" Li Tian grinned pleasingly. He was happy that his surprise worked swimmingly.
"Of course! The Sword Art you used earlier was very powerful! Did your master teach you that?"
"Yes, he wrote for me a Sword Technique before he left back to his sect."
That manual that Wang Li Tian was talking about was none other than the Quickdraw Sword Technique.
