Chapter 13 - Li Tian Takes Action 1

When Heng You Bei lost his challenge against Jiang Rou Xuan, he was allowed to get back to 10th place platform. Though he was injured, You Bei was given five minutes to rest before defending his spot against the hungry wolves that haven't gotten a position.

On the other hand, Li Tian was furious after hearing the words of Heng You Bei. How dare he insult my friend? You're lucky that big sis Rou Xuan is the strongest person I know! To Li Tian who treated the girl who was only a few months older than me as an older sister, he wanted to protect her from any harm.

Seeing that the five minutes of rest was almost up for Heng You Bei, Li Tian didn't hesitate to seize the chance to fight the rude youth. He stood on the stage staring down You Bei, his eyes never left his newfound enemy.

"Oh yo? It seems like this little junior would like to fight for my position. Are you sure you will not go back and cry to your mummy when you lose?" You Bei teased Li Tian. The simpleton did not react to his words and just walked calmly to the weapons stand to take a wooden sword and it's sheath. He kept the blade inside the sheath and attached it to his waist.

When he was back in his position, Li Tian did not bother to introduce himself as he stood still, unflustered. Compared to Li Tian showing anger when he was below the platform, the current Li Tian poised and collected. Since there was no introduction between the two individuals, the outer disciple began the battle.

"Let me teach you a lesson, my junior. It may be fine for me to not introduce myself, but for a little wrench like you to not even greet me? I shall beat you up for your mother!"

Holding the Sabre in his right hand, You Bei springer himself to Li Tian's right, in hopes to cleave his shoulder.

"Roaring Tiger's Slas…"

Before You Bei could even get out the word 'slash', the rude cultivator dropped his sabre onto the ground. You Bei too, dropped to the ground, knees first, and started to convulse. In that instant, it felt like a repeat between the fight of Liu Fei Ling and You Gao Yue. No one present was able to see through Wang Li Tian's attack. What had he done? No one knew.

"How did he instantly defeat Heng You Bei? Did anyone see the technique he used?"

"I am willing to pay anyone who knows the technique 500 gold!"

"Do you see You Bei convulsing on the ground? Clearly he would be disqualified from the remaining competition. How stupid of him for insulting an opponent that was clearly stronger than him!"

"Did you all know that the straw hat boy had skipped steps on the pressure array?! He had done it all the way till the top! It was no wonder You Bei lost this fight!"

"Note to self not to ever challenge any boy who wears a straw hat!"

There was immediate help treated by the Academy's physicians, to which their eyebrows frowned when they realised what Li Tian had done. Li Tian had sent a strong blow into the throat of You Bei. The sudden lack of air had resulted in You Bei convulsing on the ground. How had he done it? That was only known to the Elders and the outer court headmaster.

"This boy… Ye Li Tian. Did everyone see what move he had done?" Lan You Tian, the Elder of the school of Sword Arts asked everyone present. Not everyone was watching beforehand and so, Lan You Tian replayed the scene for everyone to see.

Unlike Liu Fei Ling's fight where by the fight was as a result of preparation, the battle for Wang Li Tian was over in an instant. Just as You Bei flew in the air to the side of Li Tian, the boy had drawn his sword using his right hand. Unsheathing his blade was one thing, but the sword technique used was the simplest of all techniques.

"Quickdraw 1st Style - Slice."

Sending out the blade that was once sheathed, it looked as if a dragon had been released from its cage and had to let out its pent up frustration. The strike was decisive even when the sword was made out of wood. From the slow motion replay, the Elders in the pagoda could tell that Wang Li Tian even purposely tilted the sharp blade away from You Bei's neck. If it weren't for his timely move, You Bei would've most definitely ended his cultivation journey short.

Wang Li Tian did not know his Quickdraw sword art had been thoroughly analysed by the Elders of Southern Wind Academy. Stepping off the stage like nothing had happen, Li Tian left for the next stage. You Bei had gotten what he deserved for downgrading others and so, he was going to go for the spot that he wanted. If You Bei knew what Li Tian was thinking he would have regretted his decision of ever teasing Jiang Rou Xuan. Since You Bei had been knocked completely unconscious, he had lost his chance of entering the academy this year and would have to wait for the next year if he wanted to enter again.

Seeing Li Tian walking past the fourth placing platform, Jiang Rou Xuan could not help but to rethink where he had seen the youth before. If Wang Li Tian had not wore his straw hat and his face was shown to Rou Xuan, she would definitely recognise the bubbly and innocent little brother from before. Wherever Li Tian walk, the crowd of dejected youth would open up a way for him. They knew that the person that instantly defeated the tenth place position was a strong opponent. It was best not to offend him.
