Chapter 57 - Loss of hope

" what to do, should we drop it, it is impossible to reach before them we have a huge gap between us and I don't think we can catch up to them " asked Lily . Zack smirked " are you willing to loose so easily, I never took you for a looser Lily". Lily wanted to pull her hairs but "what is our other option" she was thinking. He picked up the map from his backpack and showed them the route chosen by the other members and said "the route selected by them is easiest to cross and medium in length. They are moving anti-clockwise which is very safe for altitude change but if we walk clockwise the altitude rise will be very sharp and the route has few shortcut in between they are risky but short. What will be your move soldier Lily".

Lily relaxed that atleast they still have the hope to overcome this challenge. She pulled back her backpack and started walking. Then turned to smiling Zack, Zee and Zen " hey Z team let's move". Finally they turned and moved to the shortest route but they had to maintain their pace if they moved at the same speed as they were tracking in, then their chance increased by big margin.

Just like that 2 days passed by then they covered more than 3/4th of the route. But the weather around them was getting worst. On the other side a message was sent through satellite phone about upcoming blizzard and to return back but as Lily's route had most disturbance the message was not received by the group so, they had no idea that other groups are asked to turn back.

As the group was walking and wind was getting strong they walked as very small pace but misfortune followed them as the ice caved in the area they were walking and all of them collapsed to the deep valley and they had huge linear mountain wall to climb back. All of them tried many time to climb the rock but it was too slippery and long for them to move up. Other bad news was Zen injured her left leg in the snow the bleeding was controlled but any injury in the snow carried the risk of frost bite. Their chances to survive was becoming less let alone winning this.
