A century ago, through failed bio-weapon experiments a great city of research and
industry came out of the ashes of conflict, The Citadel, a floating city in the Pacific
a few miles away from the Mariana Trench, where now, research stations have
been put in place. The city is in the shape of a hexagon, each corner are different
districts for the working class or lower and at the center is the Grand District, a
vacation spot for world leaders and the hub of scientific advancement. But like all
good things have a downside, spirits roam the streets and terrorize the people of
the Citadel, most of them coming from the countries of Japan and Korea, Bulgae,
dogs of fire, roam the streets attacking anyone on sight and Ayakashi, sea snake
spirits that lure to your doom. To quell these spirits, the Grand District has put,
what people of ancient times would call, wards in place. The development of the
spirits has led to many studying them to understand them better.
Though this floating, spiritual paradise also contains other problems, their own
machina. The people of the Citadel use androids as a way of life to replace humans,
but they've begun to rebel, these androids have had their threat level class changed
to Leviathan after first signs of aggression. One such android is 4PR1L or April as
the public calls it, a female android which lacks a proper skin colour and has
resulted in showing it's carbon fiber skin, how this machina became a threat is
unknown to most but she has been taken into custody and rehabilitation by Korrin
Junefyre, a scholar of spirits and former machina engineer, this young man has be
renowned for his ability to rehabilitate and put former Leviathan class machina on
the market after only a week or so of meeting him, but 4PR1L is proving a challenge
to his skill.
The origins of this city, no matter how pretty it seems, the origins aren't. This city
was built on the idea of a one, Orla O'Kane, one of the first cyborgs of her time
proposed the idea of weaponized machina or androids. When she proposed this,
she unknowingly agreed to become a test subject for this project, but their efforts
were finally fruitful. This idea was proposed after a failed project to create a deadly
gas that could kill someone within minutes, but the last effort took 12 hours.
