As Thomas opened his eyes he stared at the roof for a few seconds before asked "Why do I feel so light?" Thomas sat up, held his face, and mumbled "I still feel tired." As he stood up and left the room he seen Toby waiting outside of the inn for something. Thomas glanced at him and asked "What the hell are you doing?" Toby glanced at Thomas and said "I was waiting for one of the others to show up so I could tell them what the demon lord's army has been up to." Thomas stood there for a moment and said "Demon lord's army?" Toby stared at him and said "Yeah, he was awakened three days ago and has already attacked a village with his army."
Thomas stood there for a moment and asked "How long have I been asleep?" Toby stared at him and said "You've been asleep long enough to apparently not notice that the monsters have been slowly getting stronger." Toby held up a power module and said "We've also been able to draw a little more power from them." Thomas stared at the module and said "I'm pretty sure I gave mine to Lily." Toby stared at him and said "You should totally stop by one of the major guilds and pick one up, they even started handing them out for defense at bars to." Thomas stared at the power module and said "So they've become an everyday item now?" Toby nodded and said "You bet, everyone has one."
Toby put it in his pocket and said "Mine can make me twice as strong now." As a voice covered the entire town that said "All people capable of fending off the demon lord's army, please make your way to the towns boarder and prepare to help defend the town." Thomas glanced up into the sky and asked "What's that all about?" Toby began to run off as he said "The demon lord is sieging this town, he's decided that he'll conquer this one next to prove his might, so as long as we hold this one we won't have any issues, unless he shows up of course!"
Thomas watched as Toby ran off and said "So the monsters are gonna get stronger?" Thomas sighed and said "This is gonna be one big pain in the ass isn't it." Thomas smiled and said "Maybe this is a good opportunity, if I can grab one of those power modules and wipe out as many of those monster as possible Daisy will quit nagging me." Thomas glanced around and said "Now where can I find one?" As he felt a tap on his back he glanced over his shoulder and seen Mary standing there clutching something. Thomas turned around and knelt down and said "Morning" with a smile.
Mary held her hands out and revealed a power module and said "This one is mine, you can use it if you want." Thomas stared at the module for a moment and said "They really are handing these out to whoever." Thomas took it and said "I'll be sure to return it, but I'll make sure that it has ten times more power then it does right now." Mary stared at him and said "I haven't been able to beat anything, but Mira and the others all took me out on some adventures when you were asleep." Thomas smiled and said "If you already got some experience on the field why not come with me and watch it unfold."
Mary's smile grew wider and said "Can I really come?" Thomas picked her up and put her on his back as he said "I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed." As they dashed down the road Mary held onto him tightly and shouted "Please slow down!" However before Thomas could slow down he had already reached the outside of the town. Thomas glanced around and seen a group composed of goblins, dire wolfs, some low tier golems and some other monsters he was unable to recognize. Thomas stared at a rather large red man standing behind all of the other monsters who appeared to be pointing and giving order as he asked "What's up with him?"
Mary pointed towards the red man and said "That must be the demon that the demon lord decided to let lead this army." Thomas stared at the demon and asked "So is he the strongest one here?" Mary nodded and said "I'm pretty sure I heard Mira say that the demon leading these armies is the strongest." Thomas set Mary down and said "Brining you into battle is too risky, do me a favor and wait here for a bit." Mary stared at him excitedly and said "Of course, I'll stay here and watch you beat them all." Thomas began to stretch and said "By the way, do you know why I'm feeling so light?"
Mary thought for a moment and said "I think Mira and Daisy agreed to remove the five ton shirt from you while you were asleep." Thomas smiled and said "That makes things easier." As he pushed off of the ground with his foot and dashed towards the army he said "Let's get this over with." As he jumped through the chest of one of the golems he said with a smile "Emera said I couldn't interfere with the demon lord, she never said anything about the demon lord's army." As he landed in between a large group of them he stood there for a moment and said "It's been a while since I've let loose and just fought without restraints."
Thomas smiled and said "To make things even more interesting I won't bother fighting with any of my weapons, so I hope you don't mind if I steal a few of yours." As a group of goblins surrounded him he tilted his head and said "Shouldn't this army have more stuff?" As a hand reached out of the ground and grabbed his ankle he glanced at it and said "It still feels like it's missing something, this just feels like a normal brawl." Thomas lifted one of the goblins by its head and while dodging all of the other goblins attacks asked "Where are the deadly creatures, I'm talking big baddies who got tons of power."
As the goblin made a few grunts Thomas pulled the module out and said "I told Mary I'd give this thing a serious power boost, how am I suppose to do that if you don't bring out your toughest people." Thomas began to squeeze its head as he said "Fine don't answer me, I'll just kill enough of you to get the same result as killing a mega baddie." Once it's skull was crushed and it stopped moving all the other goblins stopped in place and stared at him in fear while making terrified grunts. Some of the blood from the goblin had gotten on his face but he ignored it and tossed its body aside as he smiled and said "Don't just stand there, come at me with everything you've got."
As he took a step closer towards some of the goblins they backed away from him and instead of the goblins attacking him a fire wolf jumped over the goblins and bit Thomas in his shoulder. Thomas smiled and said "Now this is more like it, the only thing that makes you feel alive in a battle is pain, and you either die with too much of it live without enough of it." Thomas grabbed the wolf's head and twisted it until it made a popping sound and then grabbed a goblin off of the wolf's back and said "You've at least got the guts to attack me, your probably the bravest goblin here." Thomas turned to the other goblins with a smile and said "Don't just stand there."
From the goblins view he was omen, the very omen that would soon kill them all, the goblins all viewed him as a merciless killing machine that was on par or even more merciless then the demon lord. As Thomas's aura began to encumber the battlefield many of the goblins began to puke up blood or just die in an instant, a black aura covered him and the only thing visible were his eyes and smile. Once all the goblins and wolves died off he stared at the undeads and the golems while his aura retracted back into himself. Thomas began to walk towards the remaining enemies and said "You have a demon leading you, right, do you mind telling me where he went, I seem to have lost track of him."
The undead horde began to swarm him as well as the golems as he said "Come on, this module needs more power, you won't be enough." Thomas smiled as the horde was a few yards away and picked up a dagger one of the goblins was using and said "Tune in for the next chapter to see what happens next, and if not, well then just know your missing out." As he dashed towards the horde of undead and golems with the dagger he smiled and said "Until next time."
