Chapter 241 - Chapter 241 A Unicorn Nearby

As Thomas opened his eyes he held his head and mumbled "The pain is back." Thomas sat up and glanced around as he asked "Where am I?" Thomas stared at a chair that had his jacket and shirt on top of it, both were fully repaired and the tears were now gone. Thomas glanced at the door and mumbled "Am I in one of the guild rooms?" Thomas stood up and began to get dressed as he said "I guess it doesn't really matter where I am." As the door opened Sarah stared at Thomas and said "I'm pretty sure the doctor said you should be asleep for at least the next few days." Thomas glanced at her and asked "How long was I asleep?" Sarah thought about it for a moment and said "You've actually only been asleep for a few hours." Thomas walked past her and said "So I've recovered ahead of time?" Sarah followed Thomas out of the room and said "Actually you still haven't recovered." Thomas walked out of the hallway and into the tavern as he said "That explains the headache." Jules who was staring at the quest board glanced at Thomas and said "I heard you got injured in a fight with Selina." Thomas stared at Jules and said "Well the injury is hardly noticeable, or at least I don't notice it." As Sarah stepped out of the door she stared at Thomas and asked "Are we still gonna do that quest later?" Jules glanced at them and asked "What quest?" Sarah walked behind the counter and said "Well we have a few special requests that people came to us with, we can try and do some of those." Thomas stared at her and said "Well I already told you I'd help out for today so I'll just do these with you for the time being and then I'll head over and ask Selina about her part of the deal." Sarah set a piece of paper on the counter and said "That's right, thanks for reminding me." Thomas stared at the paper and said "Reminding you?" Sarah nodded and said "This paper explains how to do it." Thomas glanced at drawing and said "It looks like we just have to transfer mana into our eyes." Sarah pointed to a date on the bottom left corner and said "Yeah but it's also pretty impressive considering this technique was developed a few weeks ago." Thomas added some mana to his eyes and said "Let's give this a shot." Thomas stared at Sarah and said "Wait you can use magic?" Sarah stared at him and said "You have seen me enter and exit that door right?" Thomas stared at the door for a few moments and said "I thought Jules let you in." Thomas glanced back at the paper and noticed a very familiar name on the very bottom of it. Thomas stared at it and asked "Why is Mason's name on this?" Sarah glanced at him and said "That's the person who did the research and created this method, why do you know him." Thomas nodded and said "Yeah he helped me out in Meta." Sarah stared at him and shouted "You seriously know this guy, recently he's made a huge impact in the research branch of the Meta kingdom, he's been sharing his finding with everyone." Thomas glanced at Jules and asked "Is he really that famous?" Jules nodded and said "Of course, apparently he's from another world and the moment he arrived he began to learn everything he could about this world and began to test theories to make people stronger." Thomas stared at the paper and mumbled "Wait if he shared it with everyone does that mean I got ripped off?" Thomas glanced at Sarah and said "You know what doesn't matter, so what kind of quests were you talking about?" Sarah reaches under the counter and pulled out two papers as she said "We have two special requests right now, one is for the horn of a unicorn and the other is to help repair the town." Thomas stared at Sarah for a few moments and asked "What the hell is a unicorn?" Sarah put one of the papers down in front of Thomas and said "A unicorn is a magical horse with a horn, my guess is that they want the horn in order to make a magical weapon." Jules stared at the paper and said "No way, they're seriously willing to pay five gold for it?" Sarah nodded and said "Of course, aren't you aware that unicorns are very dangerous creatures?" Jules stared at Sarah and said "Well of course I'm aware of it, but isn't Thomas still injured." Sarah glanced at him and said "He's clearly fine, I mean just look at him." As Jules glanced at Thomas he asked "Why are you staring at your own hand?" Thomas stared at his own aura and said "My aura seems be red and blue, but yours is only blue." Jules nodded and said "Well yours is blood stained so it only makes sense." As the aura disappeared Thomas mumbled "A permanent reminder of what I've done." Sarah walked around the counter and began to drag him away as she said "Let's go, I need you to find it." Jules began to follow close behind as he said "Wait I wanna come too!" Thomas held the compass while being dragged as he said "You could've at least given me a minute." Sarah glanced at him and said "No time, we need to go now we are wasting daylight." Once they were outside of the city Thomas stared at the compass and pointed towards a forest as he said "Looks like its that way." Sarah began to dash in that direction as she shouted "I wanna take a crack at it first!" Jules glanced at Thomas and said "We better hurry before she does something stupid." As they followed her into the forest near some bushes she pulled them both down and said "Watch out, the unicorn is in front of us." Thomas stared at the unicorn and said "It looks oddly harmless." As Thomas stood up and walked out of the bushes he said "I'll handle this real quick." Sarah stuck her hand out of the bush and said "No don't go, use your magical aura sense." Thomas turned around and said "I don't think I'll need to, I mean it is just a horse." Jules pointed to the unicorn as it's horn began to grow as he asked "What's it doing?" The unicorn began to charge at Thomas as Sarah shouted "Get away quickly, its charging you!" As Thomas turned around the horn went through his stomach and he was lifted off of the ground and held onto the unicorns horn. Thomas coughed up some blood and held onto the horn as he mumbled "What kind of hell horse are you?" Jules immediately jumped out of the bushes and said "Don't worry I'll help you." As Thomas's blood dripped down onto the unicorns head Thomas mumbled "Although this hurts, I can feel my mana coming back to me." Sarah fosses Thomas a dagger and shouted "Use this!" Thomas grabbed the dagger and stabbed the unicorn in the eye as he mumbled "Is it because I'm in direct contact with the source of mana?" The unicorn began to run at a tree as it shoved its horn through and crushed Thomas up against it. Jules lunged at the unicorn and cut one of its legs off while shouting "Drop him at once you foul beast!" Thomas pulled the dagger out of the unicorns eye and shoved it through its skull while shouting "That hurt like hell!" The unicorn pulled its horn out of the tree completely unfazed as it shock its head in effort to throw Thomas off. As the unicorn shook its head Sarah dashed towards it with her sword and shouted "I'll remove its head and free you!" As she swung her sword the unicorn used its horn to block her strike and then toss Thomas aside. Thomas slowly stood up and mumbled "Note to self, don't piss a unicorn off." Jules and Sarah both began to block the attacks of the unicorn with their swords as they shouted "It might be too strong!" Thomas grabbed his sword with one hand and wiped the blood from his mouth as he smiled and said "I'll end this with one swing thanks to all the mana I got from its horn." Thomas raised the sword above his head and shouted "Block this you damn horse!" As a purple aura flowed out of Thomas the sword became increasingly heavier and collided with the unicorns horn creating a strong gust of wind on impact. Thomas stared at it and said "So you can withstand this?" Thomas smiled and shouted "Then let's increase it ten fold!" As the horn made some cracking sounds it broke off and the unicorn ran as Sarah picked it up and said "You managed to beat it despite its tremendous magical aura." Thomas held his stomach and mumbled "I could care less about that right now." Sarah glanced at Jules and said "Quickly take him to get patched up." Thomas glanced at Jules and said "Don't worry about it, just take me to the inn, I'm sure it'll be fine." Jules began to carry him as he said "I'll take you to the inn after we go to a doctor."
