Chapter 148 - Chapter 148 A Dangerous Package

Once Thomas and Lily entered the room at the inn Lily told Thomas to sit down on the bed and to allow her to try and help with his arm injury. As Thomas sat there Lily grabbed some bandages and said "I don't know when Daisy will be back so I'll do my best." Thomas took off his jacket and said "I don't really think any of this is necessary." Lily began to unwrap the bandages and asked "Why did you get mad when he didn't believe me?" Thomas stared at her and said "Just felt like proving him wrong." Lily slapped his arm and said "I know your lying." Thomas let out a grunt of pain and said "Well alright then what do you think the reason was?" Lily continued to unwrap the bandages as she said "If you wanted to prove people wrong you would've done a lot of other stuff." As Lily seen Thomas's arm underneath the bandages she sighed and said "You honestly thought that this was fine?" Thomas glanced at his arm and seen that the flesh was still heavily damaged and that blood was dripping from the wound. Lily grabbed a rag and said "This is probably gonna hurt but bare with me." As Lily began to wipe the blood away Thomas put his jacket in his mouth and bit down on it. As Thomas felt the pain he bit into it harder and harder. Once Lily finished wiping away the blood she said "I'm done now, I just need to rewrap it." Thomas spit the jacket out of his mouth and said "At least you have me a warning." Thomas held his other hand on the jacket and removed the blood stains as Lily rewrapped his arm. Lily stared at Thomas and asked "That sword you just got is good." Thomas held out his hand and summoned the cloud metal sword as he said "Yeah that guy said it was made out of the same thing as Ocis's spear." As Lily finished wrapping Thomas's arm she she sat down beside him and said "Now that your arm is taken care of we can go look around town." Thomas stood up and said "Well guess we should stop wasting time then." Lily stood up and said "Taking care of your injuries is not a waste of time." Thomas glanced at her and said "I'm pretty sure it's a waste if I'm just gonna get more." Lily sighed and said "That's not a good thing." Thomas walked towards the window and said "We should look around before it gets dark." Lily stared at him and shouted "Don't jump out of the window!" Thomas glanced at her and said "I'll meet you down there." As Thomas jumped out of the window Lily sighed and said "Honestly he should learn how to use the door like a normal person." Lily ran outside and seen Thomas sitting against the building the looking at the sword. Lily stared at him and asked "Why didn't you use the door." Thomas stood up and said "No reason." Lily stared at the sword and asked "Well what are you doing with that sword?" Thomas swung the sword a few times and said "Nothing much, I'm just checking it out a bit." Lily walked towards him and asked "Is cloud metal really as light as they say?" Thomas flipped the sword in the air and grabbed the blade as he aimed the handle at Lily and said "Find our for yourself." Lily grabbed the sword and said "It is super light." Lily stared at Thomas and said "Oh right, before I forget I grabbed a quest on my way out." Thomas stared at her and asked "What is it?" Lily handed him his sword and said "It's just a delivery quest, I figured we could get it done while we look around." Thomas stared at her as he sheathed the sword and asked "What are we delivering?" Lily reached into her bag and pulled out a box as she said "It's this." Thomas turned around and said "Alright then let's deliver it." Lily lowered the box as she asked "Aren't you even the least bit curious?" Thomas glanced at her and said "I don't care what's in the box, all I know is that the sun will set soon and we still haven't left the inn much." Lily put the box away and said "Your right we need to hurry." Lily grabbed Thomas's hand and said "Let's go!" As Thomas and Lily walked through the town a man approached Lily and said "That package, I need it." Thomas and Lily glanced at each other for a moment as Lily asked "Why do you think he wants it?" Thomas shrugged and stared at the man as he said "How are you, and why do you want the box?" The man took another step towards Lily as he said "My guild requires that package, if I don't get it they'll kill me." Thomas stepped in front of Lily and said "Well we're kinda in the middle of delivering it." Thomas stared at him and said "I got an idea, why don't you wait for us to deliver it and take it from the man we're delivering it to." The man drew his sword and said "That package isn't going to a he." Thomas sighed and said "Yeah whatever, just get it from them after we deliver it." The man swung a sword towards Thomas as he said "Your much weaker then her." As the man swung the sword a sharp wind was sent towards Thomas. As Thomas grabbed Lily and jumped out of the way the wind hit a building and cut through the front of it. Thomas stared at the man and said "A little much for a package." The man pointed his sword at Thomas and said "If you were her I wouldn't be alive right now." Thomas stood up and drew his sword as he said "I don't really get what your so worried about, but I suppose she must be pretty strong." Thomas glanced at Lily and said "And there has to be a reason you want that package." The man nodded and said "Within that package is her food, if we can destroy that we might be able to starve her of her abilities." Thomas glanced at Lily and said "We're just delivering food?" Lily reaches into her bag and pulled out the box as she said "And here I thought it was something cool." Thomas grabbed the box and said "If its just food we'll pick something up on the way for her." Thomas handed the man the box and said "I'm not fighting some guy for food." The man held the box and said "With this, we might actually be able to win." Thomas glanced at Lily and said "Come to think of it, you never told me where she was." The man stared at Thomas and Lily and said "You'd be better off avoiding that place." Lily stared at Thomas and said "It's somewhere out of town." Thomas glanced at the man and said "Well you got what you wanted so you can leave now." The man opened the box and revealed six vials of blood that he smashed on the ground as he said "If you go there your likely to die." Thomas stared at the broken vials and blood on the ground as he said "That wasn't food." The man nodded and said "The girl your going to see is a vampire, by destroying her food we just increased our chances of winning." As the man walked away Lily stared at Thomas and said "I don't think we'll be able to deliver her food after all." Thomas glanced at Lily and said "We should at least tell her right?" Lily stared at Thomas and asked "But isn't it dangerous to deal with vampires?" Thomas shrugged and said "Dunno, but it's our faults so we should at least apologize and see if we can make up for it somehow." Lily nodded and said "I agree with you but it's a vampire and there is definitely a reason that guy was afraid of her." Thomas glanced at her and said "She can't be all bad if she's ordering vials of blood and not just killing people." Lily sighed and said "Your not gonna take no as an answer are you." Thomas smiled and said "Nope." Lily began to walk away as she said "Follow me, I remember one of the people back at the inn talking about where she lived." Thomas smiled and began to follow her as he said "That's the spirt." Lily glanced at him and said "Shut up, I'm only going with you because if I don't you'll go alone and get yourself into some sort of trouble." Thomas walked behind her and said "I'm sure it would've been fine either way." Lily glanced at him and asked "Then why do you still have your sword out?" Thomas shrugged and said "If she does get hostile I might as well have it out."
