Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 Under The Bar

As they arrived to the town Thomas carried the boy back to the inn and to Daisy so she could take a look at him. As Thomas entered the room Daisy hit him in the head and knocked the cloth off while yelling "Do you have any idea how reckless it is to go out while the entire king's army is after you." As the cloth hit the floor Daisy seen that Thomas's head was bleeding as he stared at her and said "Yeah guess it's pretty dumb huh?" Daisy stared at the wound on Thomas's head as she asked "What did you do, and where did you get the boy?" Thomas glanced at the boy as he said "I attacked a bandit settlement." Daisy stared at him and hit him again as she shouted "Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Thomas stared at her as he asked "Can you help the kid or not?" Daisy stared at the boy Thomas was carrying as she said "Lay him on the bed and let me have a look at him." As Thomas set the boy on the bed he muttered "B-beneath the bar." Thomas stared at the boy as he walked over towards him and asked "What's under the bar?" The boy didn't give Thomas an answer as he fell back asleep. Daisy walked over to Thomas and said "Stop bothering the patient he's been coughing up blood and is severely sick." Thomas glanced at Daisy as he said "I'm gonna head back out." Daisy stared at him as she shouted "Are you trying to get caught?" Thomas walked to the door and said "No but I at least owe it to the kid to check what's under the bar." Daisy stared at Thomas as she said "Since you've already decided I won't be able to stop you, but since your gonna go at least let me put a bandage around that wound on your head." Thomas walked over to her and sat down as he said "Fine." While Daisy wrapped the injury Thomas asked "So where are the others?" Daisy continued to wrap his injury as she said "They all went out to do quests." Thomas glanced at Daisy as he said "You didn't go with them?" Daisy shook her head as she said "I'm just here to support everyone." Once Daisy finished wrapping Thomas's head injury he stood up and stared at her as he said "Don't sell yourself short you can fight just as well." As Thomas walked out of the room Daisy looked shocked as she sat their on the bed next to the boy staring at the door. As Thomas left he walked around the town and to the bar. As he entered everyone immediately turned their attention to him as he walked up to the counter and sat down. As he sat their Lewis walked up to him as he said "I was just talking about you." Thomas stared at Lewis as he said "Well your about to get another story." Lewis stared at Thomas confused as the man running the bar walked over to Thomas and said "I hear you took down the bandits that have been terrorizing the town, are those rumors true?" Thomas stared at him as he said "I hear you have something in your basement, are those rumors true?" The man stared at Thomas nervously as he began to back away. As he backed away Thomas stood up and jumped behind the counter as he walked towards the man and said "If you don't have anything suspicious down their I'm sure you won't mind me taking a look." The man sat their as he said "Invasion of privacy is illegal." Thomas grabbed him by the shirt and said "I'm already wanted by the king, do you really think that doing something I'm not supposed to matters?" The man stared at Thomas as he pointed to a hatch and said "Leave me out of this." Thomas stared at the hatch and threw him aside as he said "To answer you question the rumor is true I did attack the bandit camp." As Thomas opened the hatch he started to climb down a ladder as he said "I'll be back in a bit." Once Thomas was at the bottom of the ladder he began to walk around towards what looked like bars in the wall. As Thomas approached he heard people scurry away from the bars and away from him. As he peeked into the room he seen a few prisoners in poor condition hiding in a corner. Thomas stared at them as he mumbled "What the hell are they doing down here?" Thomas stared at them as he asked "Who are you people?" They all looked panicked as one of them asked "Who's their?" Thomas stared at them as he grabbed onto the bars and tugged on them as he mumbled "I might be able to break the wall." As Thomas glanced back at them he said "I'm the guy who's gonna bust you out of here." As Thomas said this he punched the bars and broke one of them as he mumbled "Its a good thing these bars seem to be rusty." They all began to panic as Thomas continued to bust the bars. Once Thomas broke all of the bars he said "You can fit through now." They all began to move away from the corner and towards Thomas as they asked "Are you a good person?" Thomas stared at them as he said "Not really, in fact I'm wanted for one hundred gold pieces." They all looked terrified as Thomas said "But other than that I ain't such a bad guy." Thomas stared at them as he said "Although you can't see me I can see you just fine." They all stared at him even more panicked as they asked "How can you see us?" Thomas walked into the room as he poked them and said "I can see in the dark." The person Thomas pokes began to panic as Thomas said "Theirs no reason to fear me, if I wanted you all dead I would've just burnt the building down with you in it." They all began to panic even more as they began to run towards the exit one of them grabbed Thomas's tail thinking it was part of the wall. As Thomas's tail was grabbed he fell to the ground and mumbled "Why the hell do I bother helping people." As Thomas stood up he said "Calm down just focus on getting out of here first." As they started to calm down Thomas grabbed their hands and began to guide them to the exit as they all climbed up the ladder one by one Thomas stayed under the bar as he looked up the ladder and mumbled "That bastard probably has every guard in the town waiting for me up their." Thomas shrugged as he began to climb the ladder as he said "I'll face them all head on!" Once Thomas got to the top of the ladder he looked around and seen that the people he helped was two females and three men who had been taken captive. Thomas stared at them as he asked "So who are you five people?" They stared at him as they said "We we're taken by the bandits and transferred here overnight." Thomas stared at them as he said "Well your all free to go I did what I was gonna do." As Thomas left the bar he started to walk back towards the inn as one of the girls followed him and asked "Why did you save us." As they walked to the inn Thomas said "I did it because I wanted to." She continued to follow him as she said "A wanted man doesn't save people because he wants to." Thomas continued to walk as he mumbled "I should've just left you in the cage." As they entered the inn the man running it seemed shocked as he asked "Is that really you?" She stared at him as she said "Dad?" Thomas continued to walk away from her as the man turned to Thomas and said "Thank you, if theirs anything I can do please let me know i am forever in your debt." Thomas stood their frozen as he mumbled "She wasn't executed?" Thomas turned back around and walked up to her as he shouted "That lying bandit bastard told me that he executed most of the prisoners." They stared at him confused as he walked back to his room. As he entered the room the boy was sitting up and playing with Daisy as Thomas asked "Am I interrupting?" Daisy stared at him as she asked "You didn't get hurt again did you?" Thomas shrugged as he said "Apart from the head injury I got today I'm fine." Daisy stared at him as she walked over and poked the bandage as she asked "Care to explain how you got the injury?" Thomas stared at her nervously as he said "I um ... bashed my head against a wall." Daisy punched him once more as she shouted "How stupid can one person possibly be!"
