As Toby stood on the edge of the lake the water began to rise as it poured off a giant creature that was now emerging from the depths of the lake. Toby stared at the creature as he noticed that Thomas was standing on top of it as the sword was still inside of him. Thomas stood there as he coughed up some blood as he said "Toby I said I was gonna hit you so hard I broke your armor, and I don't really care if I need help doing it." Toby stared at the creature as he said "The ancient monster that protects the town answered your call?" Thomas stared at Toby as he yelled "Our fight isn't even close to ending yet." Thomas grabbed the sword in his stomach as he began to pull it out of himself as he said "Your gonna need this if you wanna even stand a chance." As Thomas pulled the sword out he coughed out more blood and threw it to Toby as he yelled "Don't you even think about using that sword on Lily or Scarlett."
As the creature stopped rising all the water fell off of it as it revealed a giant frog. Toby looked at him as he rushed to his sword and yelled "I believe your not a demon lord follower." Thomas stared at him as he yelled "I warned you and now I'm gonna shatter that armor of yours." The giant frog stuck its tongue out as it slapped Toby with it and knocked him into the forest. Thomas held his stomach as he mumbled "I'm losing too much blood at this rate I'm not gonna last much longer." Thomas looked at Lily and Scarlett as he said "Looks like I'm just not ready to die yet." Thomas looked back at Toby who was now crawling out of the forest while wearing broken bits and pieces of armor. Thomas smiles as he said, "Told ya I'd shatter your armor." Thomas looked at Lily and Scarlett as he mumbled "I'm just gonna close my eyes for a few minutes." Lily and Scarlett looked at Thomas as they watched him fall off the frog. Scarlett ran and jumped into the water as she began to swim towards Thomas.
Thomas began to sink as Scarlett swam to him. As Scarlett grabbed him she began to swim towards land with him as people from the town left their houses to see the giant frog as they pointed and yelled "The ancient one has awoken." Once Scarlett got Thomas to land she held her hands on the wound as she began to use her low-tier healing magic. Lily rushed over as she asked, "Is he alright?" Scarlett looked at her as she said "He's losing a lot of blood he might die." The townspeople began to cheer for the frog as Toby continued to fight it. The frog turned around as it stared at Thomas. The village people began to yell "Kill the demon and its followers." The giant frog let out a loud croak as it set its tongue on Thomas and then put its tongue back in its mouth as it continued to stare at Thomas. Scarlett stared at Thomas as his injuries began to heal right before her eyes. The frog turned to look at Toby as it began to sink back into the lake.
Toby walked over to Scarlett and Lily as he apologized for thinking they were demon lord servants and for thinking that Scarlett was the demon lord. The townspeople all rushed over to the lake as they asked "Why didn't the ancient one kill the demons?" Toby turned around to look at the townspeople as he said "I made a mistake and attacked three innocent travelers." Scarlett looked at Toby as she said "I am a demon though." Toby stared at her as he said "If he can summon the ancient creatures of this land then I believe that you're a kind-hearted demon." Lily looked at him as she yelled "You almost killed him!" Toby looked at Thomas as he said "Yes almost but he bested me and even did what he said he would." Toby looked at his armor as he said "I thought he was bluffing when he said he'd shatter it and yet that's exactly what he did." Lily looked at Thomas as she said "No wonder he's always so tired."
Scarlett stared at Thomas as she said "The only reason he's alive is thanks to the creature you call the ancient one. Lily looked at Thomas as she said "Maybe we should let him rest a bit." Toby looked at them as he said "Please let me pay for your room as an apology." Scarlett picked Thomas up as she carried him while walking over to Toby and said "That would be great." As Thomas woke up he found himself in a room as Lily and Scarlett stared at him. Thomas felt his stomach as he said in shock "Theirs no injury?" Lily looked at him as she asked "Are you alright?" Thomas nodded as he asked, "What happened to that Toby guy?" Scarlett looked at Thomas as she said "He left the village after proclaiming himself your rival and saying that he would slay the demon lord once and for all." Thomas yawned as he moved his arms and asked "What happened to my injuries?" Scarlett looked at him as she said "The ancient one healed you."
Thomas looked at her as he said "Can you just start from the beginning, everything after being stabbed and sinking to the bottom of the lake is a bit fuzzy." Scarlett nodded as she said, "I'll start from the beginning then." After hearing the story from Scarlett Thomas stared at her and Lily as they asked "Do you really not remember any of it?" Thomas yawned as he said, "No but it was a great story." Lily looked at him as she said "It's not a story you really almost died!" Thomas looked at her as he said "Well I'm still alive so theirs no point in worrying." Thomas got out of the bed as Scarlett watched him and said "Be careful you were bleeding a lot." Thomas looked at her as he said "I'm fine just a bit more tired than usual." Lily looked at him as she said "You should stay in bed and rest." Thomas stared at her as he said "I'll be fine besides you guys still wanna get to Helios right?" Lily and Scarlett looked at him as they said "Yes we do want to go but it's night."
Thomas walked over to the window and said "Yeah your right it is pretty dark." Scarlett looked at Thomas as she asked "How did you summon the ancient one?" Thomas looked at her as he said "I still have no idea what you're talking about, like I said it's all a blur to me." Thomas looked at them as he waved and said "I'll be back in a minute." As Thomas appeared in front of the lake he looked around as he said "Whatever hit those trees destroyed them." Thomas walked towards a puddle of blood near the edge of the lake as he smelt it and said "Yup that's my blood." Thomas stood up as he said, "Their story checks out." Thomas looked into the lake as he saw a sparkle. Thomas stared into the water as he sat down and said "Do I jump in and find out what the sparkle is or do I ignore it?" Thomas stood up and began to take off his clothes as he said "Curiosity killed the cat but I'm more so a fox so I should be fine." Thomas stepped back as he said, "So I almost died here?"
He started to run and jump into the lake as he said "That's highly unlikely." Thomas began to swim towards the sparkling as he got closer and closer. Once Thomas was a few feet away from it he stuck his hand out and grabbed it. After grabbing it Thomas quickly swam up to the top of the lake. After surfacing, Thomas swam to land and held what he found up to the moon as he laid on his back. Thomas stared at it as he noticed it was a compass as he said "I wonder why this was at the bottom of the lake?" Thomas teleported back to the inn they were in as he noticed that they were sleeping and that there were only two beds. Thomas walked over to his satchel as he put the compass in it and stared at them. Thomas glanced at each of them as he said "Maybe I'll just sleep outside." Thomas walked out of the room down the stairs and out of the inn as he turned around and said "If that story is true then I basically lost and so I need to become even stronger so I can protect them both."
