Chapter 2 - Chapter One

I was wrapped in a towel and carried to another person that snuggled me close tenderly. It reminded me of my mother and calmed me instantly. I listened to her breathing, her heartbeat. It was soothing. "Isabo. Your name is Isabo, my precious girl." She said. Her voice almost sounded sad. I felt warm droplets fall on my head, confusing me.

Opening my eyes I was hoping to get a look at my mother but my vision was too blurry. I could only make out her silhouette. She definitely had long white hair but I still couldn't tell who she was. There were muffled voices in the background but she drowned them out when she started humming a soothing tune and rocked me to sleep.

It made me realize just how tired I was. 'Wow, being born is exhausting.' I thought as I slowly closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

---

When I woke back up I realized I'd been cleaned up and after putting my arms up I'd noticed I was in a long sleeved pale pink onesie. I looked around the new room, the walls were a dark brown and there was a small soft light hanging from the ceiling. Other than that I couldn't really see far. 'Curse this baby vision.' I cursed mentally as I flailed my limbs around in a mini temper tantrum, letting out garbled noises when I tried to cuss aloud.

I heard footsteps approaching, making me realize I hadn't even heard the door open. I turned my head and watched the silhouette approach my crib. Once they stopped and bent over to look at me my breath caught. 'No way!' I screamed internally.

"Hello there Little One." His voice was deeper in person then in the anime. His big hands reached in and picked me up, snuggling me close to his chest. I was undeniably star struck. "I'm your father." He introduced and I swore my heart burst from my chest

'Rayleigh Silvers is my father!' I almost fainted.

Calm down, breath normally before he thinks he's scared his baby to death. I took a few evening breaths to calm my heart and organize my thoughts. I reached out to touch his face just to make sure he was real. I scanned his face, he looked younger than he did in the manga. Well, when he met Luffy that is. His strawberry blonde hair only had a few greys and his goatee was still short.

Do I have strawberry blonde hair like him? Or do I have white hair like my mother? Well, if it's not age related.

Wait, where is my mother? I tried looking around but it seemed he was the only one in the room with me. My stomach growled loudly dragging me back to earth. Ray- I mean, my father chuckled at me causing my cheeks to heat up.

"Let's get you something to eat." He said and carried me out of the room. As soon as we left the hallway and into the bright sunlight my father covered my face. I heard the sounds of crashing waves, the calls of seagulls, the creaking of wood, and the ruffle of sails in the wind. The salty smell of the sea filled my lungs and made me realize I was on a boat.

'I wonder if it's the Oro Jackson.' The thought crossed my mind as my father made his way across the deck to wherever he was heading. 'I wonder if I'll meet Roger.' I gripped his fingers with my small hands and moved them out of my face. I could see black sails but I couldn't see a Jolly Roger, if there was one. I wasn't sure what kind of world I was dropped into. They might not be pirates in this one.

He walked and opened a door to another hallway that led to a set of double doors. It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust but I could tell it was a dining hall or sorts from the smell of food wafting around me, making my stomach growl loudly again.

"Aww! Look at the new daddy!" The voice of a kid teased.

"Hold her while I get her something to eat." My father said and practically tossed me at the kid. I huffed until I looked up at him. Wait, that red hair. And that straw hat… I reached out and poked his cheek. I almost couldn't tell from how young he looks.

"Hello! I'm Shanks!" He beamed at me. I tried to say my name but it only came out as garbled noises, like I was trying to blow bubbles or something. "So cute." He cooed and rubbed his cheek against mine. My father practically snatched me back with Shanks growling in protest.

"Here you go little Bo Bo." My father said softly as he shoved a bottle in my mouth. I gulped the milk down greedily as he smiled down at me.

"Bo Bo?" Shanks asked.

"Her name is Isabo but I like the nickname Bo Bo." He justified, looking down at Shanks.

'Hmm, not a horrible nickname.' I thought as I burped a little bit. Now with my belly full I started getting drowsy again.

YAWN~

'It's tiring being a baby.' I thought as I fell asleep again.

---

It went like this for the next few days.I saw my reflection here and there and noticed I did, in fact, have Rayleigh's strawberry blonde hair, though mine had a more pinkish tint to it and that I had a fairer complexion compared to my father, though that might just be because I'm a baby. What surprised me the most is when I saw my eyes, they're a gorgeous shade of golden amber and they definitely weren't Rayleigh's black eye color. I wondered if they were my mother's eyes but I haven't seen her since she held me that one time.

I really only saw my father, Shanks, and on occasion Buggy. Seemed he didn't really like babies. Another thing I had noticed was four tattoos on my father that he didn't have in the manga or anime. Maybe they were unique to this world but for what purpose I had no clue.

The rest of the crew I didn't really recognise and they'd make faces or coo at me but that was it. I still hadn't seen Roger either. 'I wonder if he has that incurable disease that he had in One Piece.' I wondered as Shanks dangled a rattle above me.

I was trying to talk as soon as possible but at this rate it wasn't going well. I mean, yeah, I was only a few days old but I retained all the knowledge from my previous life. Shouldn't I be able to talk quicker? Or would that be too freaky? Ugh, this was annoying having no one to talk to.

"We're going to dock at an island today, Bo Bo. Isn't that exciting?" Shanks asked me, a big smile on his face. I huffed.

'And? I'm a baby, dummy. What can I do on an island?' I flailed my arms around angrily to make my point.

"Awe, do you need your diaper changed? Did you poop?" Shanks asked at my obviously angry attitude. I probably looked like a tomato from how embarrassed I felt. "You don't stink." He said rubbing his chin in thought.

'No! Don't smell me you jerk!' I kicked him in the chin and surprisingly sent him flying across the room. 'What the-'

"What the hell?" Shanks yelled, picking himself up off the floor. My father burst through the door with a look of bewilderment.

"What happened?" He asked as he ran to my crib to look me over.

"She kicked me." Shanks whined as he rubbed his chin. Rayleigh looked between me and then him and back. He picked me up with a proud smile on his face.

"That's my girl!" He cheered and swung me around making me giggle.

A few hours later, and after Shanks had forgiven my little tantrum, he carried me off the boat to the island he had spoken of earlier. Buggy of course tagged along and Rayleigh made sure to stay close. It was different being off the ship, I guess I had become accustomed to the rocking of the sea. I noticed right away the attire on this island greatly contrasts our own. Our's, well, Rayleigh's crew, was more rugged and worn in, or a rather more comfortable style. My father always wore faded cutoffs with a button down white shirt. His crew wore around the same, though each had their own style. Even Shanks and Buggy had their own style, Buggy being a lot more....Colorful than Shanks.

But the people here on this island had a more middle-eastern style to it. The women wore colorful robes and jewelry and most of the vendors had turbans on their heads with colorful feathers sticking out of them. It reminded me of the disney movie Aladdin but more modern. Over head I was amazed to see brightly colored zeppelins flying overhead. They actually looked more like sky pirate ships with brightly colored sails than actual balloons.

What amazed me more were the people doing magic. My eyes almost popped out of their sockets when I saw one of the stall's cooks have flames leaping from his hands at a..,Wait. Is that shawarma? 'Gods, I wished I could eat solid food!' I meantally cried in my head. 'No, go back.' I reprimanded myself. 'Dude had flames shooting from his hands!' I tried to peak over Shanks shoulder but it was too late, he'd already walked too far away.

Good thing was, Shanks made sure to stop at every stall and show me things, even if I was a baby he didn't care. I think he just likes talking. Buggy kept telling him he shouldn't even bother, that a 'stupid baby' couldn't understand what he was saying anyway. Everytime he said that I'd shoot him a glare. Hopefully he'd catch on that he should stop calling me stupid or I'd kick him, too.

A group of kids down an alleyway had caught my attention and from the halt in his stride it seemed they caught Shanks' attention, too. "Hey, why'd you stop?" Buggy asked, nearly tripping over himself to when he realized we weren't behind him.

"You think they'll be our friends?" Shanks asked with the sweetest smile I'd ever seen on someone's face in my life. Well, both lives. Before he gave Buggy the chance to answer he ran up to the other kids, holding me tightly to his chest. "Hiiiiii!" He yelled as he got closer. There were three boys and three girls, pretty average looking and wearing pretty average clothing, nobody I really recognized.

They waved with smiles on their faces. The three girls surrounded Shanks quickly, cooing over me. Saying how cute and adorable I was. 'Yes ladies, I know I'm cute.' I boasted.

"Hey! Why'd you guys stop looking?" Another boy's voice chimed in from above. I tried looking around to see where it was coming from but the girl's heads were in my way. I heard a thump and a small groan then suddenly the girls were pushed apart to make room for someone. My heart caught in my throat when I recognized this kid instantly. "Who're you guys?" He asked. When our eyes met I swore the world stopped.

'This is-It's-' My mind was reeling.

"I'm Shanks and this is Isabo. Oh, and that's Buggy." I heard Shanks say but my eyes were glued to the boy in front of me. "Who're you?" He asked, but I already knew.

'He's' "I'm" He said and I thought at the same time. "Sinbad."
