Chapter 58 - Chapter 56

"Brother!", A five year old boy climbed the bed. He wanted to wake his brother up.

Adamson was under the quilt, he gritted his teeth in annoyance. This kid would always find time to disturb him! No matter how many times he ignored Aubrey or pushed him away, Aubrey would always crawl under his legs, like a leech.

Adamson didn't want to wake up. He stayed up late last night to write a report on the marketing team of their subsidiary. Silas Lee himself was the one to teach him all the knowledge of their business. And Adamson was a fast learner. He easily gained his grandfather's trust and grace in just a short amount of time.

"Go away!", Adamson clicked his tongue. He really hated this ignorant boy.

"No way, brother! Wake up! Let's go to the theme park together!", Aubrey tugged the quilt away. It was lunchtime already. The sun was high up.

"What theme park?!", Adamson snatched back the blanket. He glared towards Aubrey.

He didn't remember making any promises with this brat.

"But today's children day! I want to go there.", Aubrey said, his eyes were shining brightly.

"....."

Adamson looked at him. He was disgusted. He was angry. He was jealous. Aubrey could get whatever he ever wanted in this life. And most of all, he could have his parents' love. He wasn't betrayed. Unlike Adamson who lived in betrayal and lies.

"Don't ever come close to me, you hear me?! Go away!", Adamson said as to chase him out of his room.

But Aubrey didn't budge. He just looked down.

"I'm sorry to disturb your sleep. Brother must be very tired. I saw you working on papers very late at night.", Aubrey faced Adamson. He suddenly felt sad and guilty.

Adamson was a bit surprised. Aubrey saw him working late at night? He was quite observant for a little kid.

"When?", Adamson asked Aubrey, his voice cold. He rested his back on the headboard.

"When what?", Aubrey asked back, bewildered.

"At what time did you see me working late?", Adamson asked back.

"Hm.. around two in the morning? But you would always stay until four or five..", Aubrey said, he faced his palm to count the hours.

Adamson raised his brow. This kid didn't sleep? What was he doing so late at night?

"What were you doing so late at night?", he asked Aubrey. His cold voice still lingered.

"You were alone. I wanted to keep you company.", Aubrey said. He was telling the truth. Though part of the reasons was him playing games with his mobile until late.

Adamson shook his head. This kid was too much. Just to keep someone company? He was a very naive and cute younger brother..

What?

Cute?

Did he just thought of Aubrey as cute? Someone whom he hated?

No no no.

He shook his head. He hated Aubrey. It would stay that way even until he dies. He would never change his principle just because of a five year old kid. He was going to exact revenge towards his parents, and Aubrey was also in the list. He wouldn't show mercy.

It would be nice if he could get rid of this boy sooner..

"Alright, I'll go to the theme park.", he suddenly agreed. His brain was starting to think of an idea to 'accidentally' hurt Aubrey.

"Yes! Thank you, brother. You're the best!", Aubrey hopped down from the bed and he went to the door.

The best..?

Adamson cracked up a smirk as he heard Aubrey said that. He knew he wasn't the best. He was never the best.

He got up from the bed to get to the bathroom but he suddenly felt dizzy in the head, he almost fell. He felt hot in his chest and he noticed the trail of red blood dripping down from his nose. He touched the liquid, and he knew what had caused it.

"So the poison I've taken in so many years has started to eat me up..", he laughed. Life was so ironic.

He had stopped eating the pills secretly when he learned the truth, but it would never amount to the past years of swallowing them before he was nine.

He was destined to die.. and that was because of his own parents. They were murderers.

They wanted to make it appeared like he had some kind of natural illness since he was young. So nobody would suspect him being killed.

"I was so stupid to ever wish for them to change.", he covered his nose with his hand, while the other hand clenched his shirt tightly to endure the striking pain inside his chest.

His hope was crushed over and over again whenever he realized that his parents were determined to send him to his death bed. They didn't think twice. He was just a distraction in their eyes. He was a son of an unknown man, a bastard.

•••

"Woah brother, this is fun! Let's go ride that first!", Aubrey grabbed Adamson's hand as he dragged him further to the roller coaster. It was a ride of 72 feet of height. Quite dangerous for a kid.

"You want to ride that?", Adamson pointed towards the station. There were many people lining up. He started to sigh.

"Of course, come on! We'll be late to catch up!", Aubrey didn't notice his brother's annoyance.

He was happy to finally come here. His parents were busy with their work, they didn't have time for him.

"Fine.", Adamson rolled his eyes. This brat sure knows how to order people around. Exactly like a pampered young master.

They got in the cart and the ride was ready to set off. Adamson was starting to feel nauseous. Supposedly, there was nothing in this life that could scare him, so why must it turned out to be this stupid ride?!

The cart went up in a slow pace. They were now so high up in the sky. He held his breath. He was actually afraid! He turned to Aubrey, the kid was actually enjoying this?!

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!", the cart went down with 46 mph speed. Adamson was scared to the wits. He screamed for dear life when Aubrey was having fun beside him, shouting in delight.

Aubrey laughed in joy as he was very excited to have experience a roller coaster ride, they got off the cart and went down from the station. Adamson on the other side, felt like throwing up and was starting to get light-headed. How could he be this weak?! It was not that high!

"Let's go ride that one now!", Aubrey took Adamson's hand again and he dragged the poor thirteen years old boy away. Their personal bodyguards that were assigned from the mansion followed closely.

Adamson couldn't find neither time nor ways to make up a plan to 'teach' Aubrey a lesson. Just like what he had planned earlier. He was getting dizzy with all of the ridiculous rides he had to go through. While Aubrey was purely having fun with all of them! This kid got guts!

"Brother, we must come here again. With mom and dad!", Aubrey said suddenly.

Adamson became bitter when his brother mentioned his parents. He didn't want to think of them at such joyous moments.

What..?

Joyous moments?

He actually thought that right at this time was his joyous moments?

Adamson turned to Aubrey. He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. Was he crazy?! He was actually having fun with Aubrey?!

"Brother, what's wrong?", Aubrey noticed his brother's changes. He became worried.

Adamson didn't say a word. He just walked away.

"Wait!", Aubrey called him back.

"What?!", Adamson turned his head behind. He looked so distant and cold. It was frightening. But Aubrey wasn't afraid of him.

"Take this.", Aubrey handed him a mineral water and a box of menthol plaster, to reduce his headache.

Aubrey was worried that he might had gone too far today. They went on for around five hours.

Adamson was stunned. This young master was being considerate? He even thought of others?

Without realizing, he had already bended down to Aubrey's height.

"What do I do with you..", he said in a low voice. It held some pain and sadness within.

He was hesitating..

".. don't be so kind to me.", he said.

"But you're my brother. Why can't I be kind to you?", Aubrey tilted his head. He didn't understand.

Adamson looked away. He didn't know how to answer to that question. If Aubrey got to know the truth one day, would Aubrey stand on his parents' side or his? What would happen then?
