Chapter 63 - Chapter 61

Lucy was driving home with a heart full of flower petals. She didn't expect her father was willing to consider Aubrey.

'Hm hm.. maybe I'm just a genius when it comes to sucking up?', she chuckled when the thought crossed over her mindset.

She was on the road for almost half an hour, and wasn't realizing that her car was followed. The moment she drove into the junction, her car was surpressed by another car from behind. Later, two more black cars trailed behind. She was forced to make a sudden stop by the roadside.

"What the hell is going on?", she looked outside, but she didn't dare to go out when a group of men in black had surrounded her entire Bugatti. One of them walked towards her on the driver seat, he pulled out a gun from behind his suit jacket. Lucy was terrified that she didn't know what to do. That was the first gun she had ever seen up close. And it was pointed at her head, maybe to blow her brain out.

'What should I do..!', she trembled slightly. She was scared to the wits.

The man knocked on her window, he made a gesture for her to open the door. And of course, she wasn't going to open it. But the sight of the pistol that was ready to fire bullets through her brain made her comply.

Lucy went out from her car reluctantly. And as soon as she did so, she was dragged to the black Mercedes waiting behind.

"Hey- what are you doing?!", she was shoved inside and her head bumped onto a man's shoulder. She looked up while rubbing her forehead. And she was shocked to see the man she despised the most in the world.

"You-?!", her face lighted up in disgust. She wanted to punch him right in the face. There was no way she could forget him, the man she once bumped into at the ball of Min Corporation.

"What do you want, chairman Lee? Someone as insignificant as me has an honor to be in the same car as you?", she asked the man, her tone mocking. She wasn't afraid of him. She couldn't afford to. Aubrey was hurt by this man physically and mentally, and he was only able to brace himself after so long, she wasn't willing to give up here. Let her told him a piece of her mind.

"Tell me chairman Lee, does kidnapping people your hobby or something? Locking people up is also your favorite?", her voice high, but it was steady.

Adamson laughed when he heard her. Just as he expected.. this woman knew.

"So much for keeping it a secret. Hey miss Kim, you being with him.. is it for fun or you just like challenges?", he looked at her in an amused expression.

"What do you take me for?! You think everyone is like you?! Having fun with someone's else life and future?!", she raised her voice by an octave. She was angry. She couldn't stop herself from trembling out of madness.

'Calm down Lucy.. you're not going to make it if you anger him more..', her inner voice said. She had no choice but to follow her rational side.

Adamson found her to be very interesting. So this was Aubrey's woman.. a girl that could make him fight for his freedom against Adamson. He inched closer to Lucy as he played with her loose hair behind her ear. Lucy flinched in terror when she saw his wicked face. He was being serious..

"Say.. miss Kim. As a respectable psychologist.. do you think Aubrey has a chance to get better when he is forced to be reminded again of his darkness of life..?", Adamson twirled her hair without much effort. Her hair was soft to the touch, though it was coarse.

"What do you mean? What do you want to do?", Lucy became slightly frustrated as she couldn't contain her anxiety. Her face must have shown him everything he wanted to see. But she couldn't afford to lose here! Aubrey needed her.

"Nothing miss Kim.. it's just a friendly reminder.", he said, his voice held some secret inside it. He didn't like it when she wasn't afraid of him.

Lucy started to gain motivation as she saw past his intentions. So that was it.. he wanted to test her.

"I have to refuse to your FRIENDLY reminder then. Let me tell you one thing you don't know, chairman Lee. You actually care for him.", she said, she was betting on this with her life. Being a psychologist, she knew when and how to trigger someone's mind. But it was not easy when that person was Adamson. She almost couldn't get to see his reaction. He was blank, deprived of all color.

Adamson couldn't help but chuckled darkly. This woman was indeed very interesting.. it made him want to teach her a life lesson. She just crossed the line.

"And let me tell you something miss Kim, you will regret it for messing with a man you can't offend. Aubrey Lee is mine to capture and you are just one of the people who helped him out. Many of them died a miserable death just for lending him a hand.", Adamson smiled as he went closer towards her face. He almost kissed her if not because of the angle of her cheek.

Lucy became red. Not because she was embarrassed, it was the other way around. She was red in anger. She wanted to slap him so she did. He touched his cheek that was scratched by her palm. He didn't say a word, he just raised his hand. Then a man opened the door from outside, Lucy ran out as fast as she could. She didn't look behind for even a second. She was still terrified. She got inside her car and she only realized it then that her hands were trembling. She thought she wouldn't survive when she first saw him. But she did it..?

'I'm still alive, thank god.', she drove her car to SereneHeights. Trying to convince herself that it was over.
