"Ha haha! You're insane! Mad! You want me to die," I cursed Al under my breath, but I still got up and dusted my dress off as another roar blasted through the forest, I turned in that direction and took off running. "Ha... You're gonna be the death of me, Al," I soon reached the source of the roar. The wolf was creeping towards the girl frozen stiff and was sitting there, eyes filled with horror and her mouth agape her body covered in blood, I searched with my uncovered blue eye for the source and soon found the mangled corpses of her comrades. From my distance I only saw their abdomen torn open, revealing their soggy innards.
I looked around for any weapon I could use and spotting a sharp branch I took it up, gripping it in my hand. The wolf growled, revealing more of his bloodied fangs. I could sneak to a corpse because the wolf and girl were far away so my guess was while the wolf dealt with the men the girl tried to make her grand escape but ultimately only ended up getting caught. I rustled around and found a bloodied dagger. It was blunt but it would do. I sneaked to my original position.
'Let her run then I will teach you how to use the scythe and your new powers.' I gave a light nod to his statement, my eyes locked onto the wolf, I held the sharp branch high ready to throw it at any given moment. I crouched low waiting patiently for just the right moment to strike and right when it was going to lunge at the frozen girl I made a loud whistle, throwing the branch at the wolf. The wolf stopped its movements and zipped its head in my direction, startled; the branch pierced its large green eye with a loud squish, blood gushing everywhere. It stood there confused for a few moments before howling in agony, realizing someone injured it.
'Don't kill it yet or else you won't have anything to practice on' Al's monotone reminded me. I gave a low grunt in response.
While the wolf was writhing in agony, I jumped out landing on its coarse gray fur. I took the dagger and stabbed it into its side. The dagger was blunt and barely made it through his thick fur to give it a shallow wound. I jumped off and ran to the girl; she was dumbstruck, tears clouding her almond eyes.
"Get up and run as far as you can, don't call for reinforcements I'll be fine, if this was your quest don't expect me to give you the monster to complete it. Now fuck off," I told her, my back facing her. My gaze was intent on staring at the wolf, following its every move. The wolf slowly regaining its composure, and I could sense its rage slowly simmering.
"Get up, bitch! I said fuck off!!" I shouted at the girl again. I could vaguely hear her squeak before she staggered up and limped away. I smirked, whatever happened to her now was her own problem. If she dies, she dies.
"Tch, I should've killed her to make sure she doesn't go yapping her mouth," I clicked my tongue.
'It's not too late now'
"Haha, Al, that was the moment where you usually say not to harm innocent lives!" I laughed.
'Is it?' I could practically imagine him tilting his head in innocent confusion but I had no more time to respond, the wolf was now looking me dead in the eyes with its green beady eye while the other was clogged with a large branch.
"This is gonna be interesting, Death Scythe, Come slice for your master," I held my right hand out, instantly blood like threads weaved around forming a large black scythe. It's nice that even if the ring is on my left hand, the scythe appears in my right. I whipped the scythe around with one hand, slicing through the air, gazing at the wolf with a dangerous gleam in my eye. With the other hand I tore off the eye-patch throwing it to the side showcasing my glowing blood red eye.
