Chapter 3 - Anger

"Berger..." Mr. Bianchi called out to me as I was leaving the bar.

"What?" I asked and I turned around.

"You shouldn't go by yourself."

"I know." I averted my eyes. Why was I leaving the bar by myself?

"Why don't we wait until tomorrow. It's too late right now. It'll be dangerous." Mr. Bianchi laid his hand on my shoulder.

"I was just eager about finding my brother's murderer that I got carried away."

"I understand. But we should wait still."

He wasn't wrong. If we went now, there would be that risk of not having the police around. Also, since my brother was murdered, they may have a suspicion of us suspected them, not that we aren't. We could be the next victims. "You're right. Shall we meet again tomorrow, then?"

Both Bianchi and Lekkey looked at each other. "Yeah."

"Alright then. I'll head home now." I parted from them.

"It's dangerous out. Wouldn't you want us to walk you home?" Mr. Bianchi stopped me.

"No, I'm fine. I can protect myself." I answered with a smile.

"Suit yourself." Mr. Bianchi didn't press any further.

After our goodbyes, I headed the way towards my home. Looking around, the night does seem frightening. Brother used to walk with me when we went out. At that time, I didn't know he was part of a gang. It's weird now knowing he was.

On my way, I suddenly heard a scream. It sounded like it was coming from my right. I decided to hide behind the dumpster that was in the alley way.

While hiding there, I heard footsteps. They were slowly walking through the alley way. I slowly peaked over the dumpster to see what was happening. I seemed like there were two men, who were wearing masks, holding another man hostage. Then another man was slowly walking towards them.

"What do you want from me?" The hostage whimpered.

"Nothing much." The third man said with a groggy voice.

"Nothing much? Then why am I here?"

"You have information that I want. I want you to tell me."

"I'm not saying anything!" The hostage yelled.

What information is this guy after, I wonder.

"Fine. If you want it that way." The man the took a coin out of his pocket and flung it into the air. He then grabbed the coin and slapped his hand. "Heads. Gully, come out."

Another man with a mask then came out of the shadows. "Heads was it?"

The man then pulled out a saw from his suitcase he was carrying. The other two men holding the hostage pinned him against the icy cold ground.

"Ready, sir?" The Gully guy asked.

"Do it."

Before I knew it, Gully started to saw one of the fingers off of the hostage. I was shocked. No. I was frightened beyond belief.

I closed my eyes and covered my mouth to restrain myself from screaming. Why were they doing this to the poor man?

I then cowered in fear behind the dumpster, hoping they didn't see me. All I could do was listen to the poor man screaming in agony. His screeching was painful to listen to.

"So, are you going to say something now?" I heard the man ask the hostage.

The hostage was silent from the excruciating pain he was in.

"I'll take that as a no."

I cringed at the though of him doing it again and hearing the hostage's scream again. I couldn't bare it. Should I run away? No! I can't. If I do, I'll be caught.

"Wait!" I heard the hostage yell. "I'll tell you."

"Thank you, kindly. Now tell me who's the Violet Clove's second leader?"

What? The second leader of the Violet Clove?

"It's Fredrick Johnson. Age 25. He's usually in Town square. That's all I know."

"I see. Thank you for the information. You may kill him now, Gully."

"Aye, aye, sir." Gully said in response.

What? The man answered though, why aren't they letting him go?

All I heard after that was two silent gun shots. They must have put a silencer on. After that, they started moving out. I continued to stay hidden and quiet.

I continued to wait another hour before moving, making sure the coast was clear. I then moved from my spot and looked at the lifeless body on the floor.

His right pinky was laying a few feet away from his body. His eyes were bloodshot from crying. Poor man.

Of course, I knew I shouldn't stay here for too long. I did notice that the police patrol this area evey 5 hours or so. The guys really were very timely when doing this. They even had gloves on.

I then took out a pair of gloves out of my right pocket and lifted the left wrist of the dead man. He had a curved line written on it that kind of looked like a top half of a "c." Could it be he was part of the Violet Clover? Can't be too sure, but for now, I need to leave.

I then checked the bottom of my shoes, making sure for any blood stains. "I wonder. Maybe I should burn them at home."

I then continued on my path to home. Wonder what tomorrow will bring.
