Chapter 56 - Betrayal 2

He turned back to his books quickly, refusing to let a moment's falter distract him from taking care of the kingdom placed in his trust.

"That mentality alone is an issue. A kingdom revolting against their king will bring pure chaos," Boris spat, his voice getting a bit harsh.

"It's in that chaos that a real leader shall be born,"

"The fact that you rely on chaos in order to filter out people show that there is a need for law and order,"

"How else are we supposed to find a capable leader? Hope the young prince in line suddenly grows knowledge on leading a kingdom? Hope he learns responsibility? We need an older

"This just shows how limited your mind is and your tunnel vision. Is there nothing called 'training?' There's a reason why people learn and aren't always born with it. You can't just expect everything to be given to you on a silver platter with perfection," Boris snapped, "for an adult, you have quite a childish mindset."

"Coming from someone who's two times younger than me, I would like to know who's the one who has a childish mindset," Grayson chuckled.

"Age has nothing to do with it, upbringing does. If I was raised on the street yet I'm still able to think like this who's the one with the mature or immature mind," Biris asked, "the fact that you even wonder who's the more mature one shows how childish your mindset is."

Grayson shoved the book back into it's spot on the shelf and clapped the dust off his hand, "doesn't really matter, because at the end of the day that's what the people want, and when it comes down to it, people who abide by it are the ones that aren't drowned out."

Boris stood up from his chair and walked over to the door, "that's another discussion for another day that is not today. For now," He reached the handle of the door, "for now, you should just leave because I have better things to do than argue." He pressed down on the handle, but the door didn't open.

"I really wanted to keep you and let you help me, but you're getting annoying," Grayson sighed walking over to the windows and slowly opening them, "and I can't have you standing in my way."

"What?" Boris asked, pressing down on the handle again and again, but the door refused to open.

"I asked if you wanted an alliance, but it seems you don't," Grayson shrugged opening the last window, "so it seems better that I just get rid of you."

"What is this no-" Boris began, stopping when he noticed a hand reach into the room from the window. Almost immediately other hands reached in and soon, three men stood in front of him, and from behind him the door was pushed open and three other men walked in closing the door behind them.

"Is this what I think it is?" Boris asked, locking eyes with Grayson.

"Ooo, you're quick to get things," Grayson chuckled, "maybe I should've left you after all. Welp, bit too late for that"

Boris stepped back as the group of men neared him, "Was this your plan from the beginning?"

Grayson shrugged and ran his finger on Dominic's chair before sitting down in it and crossing his legs, "That's better," He placed his feet on the table, "of course this is my plan. It annoys me to see someone so young try to take a kingdom I protect with my life, so I'd rather take it from myself."

"You vixen!" Boris yelled.

"Don't bother, before you know it, it'll be over," Grayson grinned then turned to one of the men and nodded, "goodbye Boris."
