Chapter 61 - Formation

Feline gave a nod and Dominic dropped her face and turned back to the army. She hid her face behind her arm as a few more tears ran down her eyes.

Litian stepped up and did a bow, then announced, "IT'S A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH YOU!!"

The army roared back a reply, "YES MA'AM!"

Domiic and Litian exchanged a smile, "go join them general,"

"Yes your highness," Litian grinned, then turned around and marched into the army, mounting the horse Feline once sat on.

"Feline," Dominic called, waiting for her to wipe away her tears then continued, "I'm assuming that that isn't all that you prepared for me right?"

Feline stared at him for a moment and then snapped her fingers, and bowed to Dominic, "please excuse me your highness,"

"You're excused?" Dominic replied hesitantly.

Feline turned to the army and screamed the loudest she could, "ALI!!"

Dominic flinched at Feline's sudden scream and turned to the army, curious to see who she had screamed for. His eyes widened when the army stepped aside and three men walked out with large horns.

"What is this for?" Dominic asked Feline as he examined the horns. They were long with a small mouth hole and a widened end, "isn't this a war horn?"

Feline nodded in agreement and pulled out another sheet of paper then handed to Dominic, "I drew out the formation that we should approach the others with."

"Hmm.. continue," Dominic smiled, looking at the sheet of paper.

"I was thinking we form a unified attack, since the new power will lose its effect if not merged with the others," Feline suggested, leaning close to Dominic to point to certain drawings and explain them, "so, the ones currently in battle right now will continue their fight but push the enemy backwards and pull together to form a battle line. We will march up from behind, and add to that line. I'm thinking of a more pushed together line then wide, so a normal line can be split to two and stacked behind each other. Maybe have 2,000 in each line and spread out the space between each line."

"But with a shorter line, the enemies can surround us easily," Dominic commented.

"Right, that's why the entire army we have is equipped with shields and multiple swords per person, so we can easily be used how you want. Give some of the shields to others if they aren't used for defense because they have swords and be used for offense too and distributed to some people already in the field who are in need of swords," Feline explained, "For defense we can have 5-10 or more layers of protection on the sides of the lines and 5 lines or more in the front of the formation equipped with shields and swords and then a few lines behind them equipped with only shields and finally the rest of the army behind them with only swords."

"Hmm.. that way we can make use of the shields we have and have multiple layers of defence in the front to protect the bulk of the group which will be shieldless," Dominic nodded, understanding Feline's suggestion, "and the back?"

"In the back, we'll have the same as the front but less, since the probability of being surrounded and attacked from the back is also possible," Feline added, "we dropped off a large crate full of weapons back at the camp for when we win this battle and go back to the camp for rehabilitation."

"Sounds good," Dominic smiled, patting Feline's shoulder, "you'll be using the war horn to announce the change in formation?"

"Yes," Feline grinned, "it also serves as a distraction since a battle horn can be used to announce defeat. We learned some of the traditional reformation horn announcements and I'm assuming the soldiers on the field remember them too. So while the enemies are distracted, thinking we're giving up, we push through with the plan."
