"Yo, ma!" I said walking into my parents house.
"In the kitchen, boy!" She said and I smiled heading that way.
"You need my help with something?" I asked sitting at the counter, mom fixed me a cup of coffee with little sugar and set it in front of me, "thanks."
"Your art show went very well, you're father was telling me, over half a million dollars you gain from last night," she said and I nod.
"Way more than I thought I would get too," I said rubbing my hands together.
"I also saw you talking to a girl..."
"Ma, I thought you need my help with something!"
"Are you dating, again?" My mother asked excitedly.
"No ma, we're just talking and hanging out that's all," I said looking out into the backyard.
"Well for someone who is just talking too you, it was really nice of her to show up and support you," mom said and I smiled.
"Yeah, it was," I said nodding my head, my phone dinged in my pocket saying I have a text message. I dig out my phone to see a message from Sunni.
(Text) Sunni: Hey! My mother said get your ass down to the flower shop right now. Her words not mine. She needs to ask you something?
Ah oh, am I in trouble? I texted back smiling down at the phone.
(Text) Sunni: I don't see why because I only told her good things about you. ☺️
(Text) Me: I'm on my way!
"Where are you going?" Mom asked.
"To visit my friend," I said standing up.
"Is it that girl?" Mom asked and I smiled.
"See you later, ma!" I said walking out the house and over to my car. I got in my car and drove over to the flower shop. I digging in my department to grab my pack of mint gum and toss one in my mouth, I then pull down sun guard to look in the mirror to make sure I look good before hopping out the car and locked it.
I could see Sunni through the windows of the shop talking to a customer like she did with me. She smiled and told the customer to have a good day when they was done with their business and I couldn't help but smile. Her smile is contagious. The woman, who Sunni was helping, was about to exit the shop and I quickly went to go catch and open the door for her.
"Thank you, sir!" The woman smiled up at me before continuing on with her business.
"Hey!" I look over to see Sunni walking out behind the counter still smiling and I walked into the shop.
"Hey, Sunshine!" I said and she blush at the nickname giving me a hug.
"How's your day!" She asked looking behind her towards the back probably wondering if she could call her mother since she's the one that wanted to see me.
"I'm good, and you?" I smirked ruffling her hair which was in a wild ponytail. She looks cute today, she was wear a floral white top and blue skinny jean which her butt look good in by the way, "you look cute."
"Oh, stop!" She blushed moving away from me, calling her mother telling her I was here and that's when we hear a noise of what sounds like empty boxes falling to the floor and Mrs. Mary letting out some curse words.
"Mom!"
"I'm fine!" Her mother said coming around the corner speed walking to me and pull me into a hug.
"How are you, Ms. Mary!" I asked hugging her back.
"Good, my boy, now I have a job for you?" Ms. Mary said clapping her hands and I look down at her confused.
"A job?" Sunni and I both said and she nod.
"Sunni told me you're an artist and I'm assuming that you can paint. So, I want to hire you to repaint my shop and make it beautiful."
"Mom, his a artist, not a tradesman," Sunni sighed to her mother and I smiled.
"I know, but..."
"Let's just say I can do it, what's your plan?"
"What?" Sunni said turning to me shocked that I actually might say yes.
(Sunni Pov)
"What, really?" I said turning to Sebastian. Is he really thinking about painting my Mom's flower shop. This will be a big task to take and I'm imagine that he is to busy to take on this little job.
"What? You don't want me around here?" He smirked and I paused.
"No, that's not it," I blushed turning around to walk to the counter.
"Hmm, ok," He said and I felt his eyes looking at my behind and I send him a smirk. I took out our books to do inventory as Sebastian and my mother start walking around the shop talking.
"I'm taking a vacation in two weeks and the vacation is two weeks long. I'm closing the shop, so if you decide to help me then you can do it then," mom was telling Sebastian and I rolled my eyes.
"And who's going to move all this stuff," I yelled to her.
"You of course, we have to make room in the back and we might have to move the bigger stuff in the middle so Sebastian can have some room to work," mom said turning to me and I rolled my eyes.
"Sebastian not painting this shop," I said closing the book and placing it back in it's spot.
"You act like he's your boyfriend, Sunni..." mom said coming over to the desk where I was and we began to argue as Sebastian watch us with an amusing smile.
"No, I'm not." I said crossing my arms around my chest glaring down at my mother, "Sebastian might be a busy man, and he doesn't have to waste his time painting a flower shop where you can pay someone who paint house and stuff for a living to do it."
"But if I do it, then I can hang out with you more," Sebastian said coming to lean his body on the counter and I turn to look at him.
"Oh, so you want me to help you?" I said and he smiled.
"Of course. You can be my assistant!" He winked and I smiled. My mother look between the two of us before smiling probably thinking that her daughter might be getting a boyfriend soon.
"Yeah, Sunflower, why don't you help your friend," mom said and I look up at her.
"So I can't go on vacation with you?"
"He's your vacation!" Mom said walking towards the back and my jaw dropped, "you're hired, the both of you, this is going to be great."
"I love your mom," Sebastian laughed.
"Hahaha!" I sarcastically laughed hitting his shoulder, "why do you want to paint my mother shop anyway."
"Never painted this big of a canvas before and I love a challenge," he said looking around.
"It's a shop, not a canvas."
"Everything a canvas, Sunshine, plus I get to hang out with my girl," he said and he seems to always make me blush twenty times a day. 'My girl', I could literally die.
"Whatever, but you better think twice if you think I'm going to let you half ass paint my Mom's shop. After this is over it better make her shed tears of joy."
"Already have ideas running through my mind, trust me, I got this," he said looking around the shop and I couldn't help but appreciate and like him more.
"Thank you!"
"Don't thank me yet," he said leaning over the counter so his face was in front of me, "so when can I take you on a date?"
"Whenever, I'm free all week," I winked which made him bite his lip and I giggled.
"Friday then, pick you up at six."
"What will we be doing?" I asked reaching up to fix a hair that was out of place on his head before placing my hand on his shoulder.
"Wear something comfortable is all I'm going to tell you," he said.
"Okay!" He's eyes are so beautiful that I could just stare at them for ever. We just stare at each other like we was in a trance.
Ding! The bell ringed on the door and that's when we both looked away with an awkward cough. I look over to the door to see my father and my eyes widen because his eyes was glaring at Sebastian putting his protective father mode on right away.
"Dad!" I coughed awkwardly coming around the counter.
"Hi, Sunflower, I brought your mother some lunch, I know she haven't eaten yet," my father smiled kissing my cheek as I hug him.
"Isn't that sweet of you, always spoiling mommy," I smiled.
"I don't spoil her, it's all love," my father said and I chuckled.
"You guys are so cute. MOMMY, YOUR AMAZING HUSBAND IS HERE!" I yelled to mother.
"Who's that?" Dad said and I pretend I didn't know what he was talking about.
"Who?" I said and my father gave me a look before pushing me out the way and head over to Sebastian, "dad."
"Who you?" Dad asked walking up to Sebastian, Sebastian eyes met mine before looking at my father with a smile.
"Sebastian Carter, sir," Sebastian said shaking my father hand and I look at them nervously, "I'm a friend of Sunni."
"A friend...what I walked in on didn't look like just friends," my father said and I gasped.
"Daddy, please," I said.
"Charles, honey, hello!" Mom said coming out of nowhere, thank god!
"Hey, honey, I brought you lunch," dad said holding up the salad he brought her.
"That's so sweet of you, thank you, and I see you met Sunni boyfriend...."
"Noooo!" Sebastian and I said as my father said.
"Boyfriend?"
"No, no, no...daddy, I don't have a boyfriend, yet," I said making that clear and my father turn to look at me.
"Yet?"
"Charles, she can't stay single forever, I've been wanting grandchildren since yesterday," mom said before turning and walked to the back, "Plus, I like Sebastian."
"Hmmm," dad said rubbing his chin before turning to Sebastian, "what? You like my daughter?"
"Uhm, well..yes, sir," Sebastian said and we both looked at Sebastian shocked at his answer before a big smile appeared on my face.
"Stop smiling," dad said and I giggled.
"I can't," I said covering my smile. My father groaned then gave Sebastian the 'I'm watching you look,' and left us alone going to the back with his wife. When my father was out of site, my eyes met Sebastian's and we just smiled at each other.
