Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Coffee & Small Talk

"Are you serious?" I scoffed looking up at the man in front of me. I was inside a coffee shop waiting on Madeline to get off of work. I just got my coffee when I turned around to see Aidan from college and he actually had the balls to ask me out.

"Yes, will you have the pleasure of going on a date with me?" he said and I stood there stun for a moment.

"No!"

"No? Really? Excuse me if I'm wrong, but have you been wanting this?" Aidan said and I smiled. Aidan Smith, my college and high school crush, and to think I was actually in love with him when he didn't even look my way. We only talk a few times in eight years and one of those conversation was our senior year of college, at a graduation party.

I was sitting out in the back patio, alone, listening to the music blasting inside hiding from my friend Madeline from pulling me into the dance floor again. I was tired of partying in the first ten minutes so I went to the back to rest.

"Why you back here all by yourself?" Someone said behind me.

"Aidan," I whispered when I turned around to see him smiling, I think my heart did a few summersaults that night, "uhm, I just need some fresh air."

"Mind if I join you?" He asked taking a sit next to me and I blushed. We end up talking the rest of the night and cracking jokes to each other and laughing. He was a chill guy and I end up liking him more, but since that party, months and months later, he never asked me out or even call, so running into him today and him bluntly decided to ask me out on a date surprised me.

"Yeah maybe months ago, but it's to late now," I said looking up at him, I'm completely over him now.

"Oh really?" Aidan said embarrassed scratching the back of his head, "you have a boyfriend?"

"Not a boyfriend, but I'm talking to someone," I said sipping my coffee nervously wanting to get out of this awkward situation, "so..."

"I should go!" Aidan mumbled before turning around to run into somebody, "sorry, excuse me." before continuing out the coffee shop.

"Hmm.." I thought thinking about how embarrassed Aidan must feel, not my problem.

"Sunni?" I turned to see a familiar boy with brown hair.

"Yeah!" I asked confused because I don't think I know him.

"I thought it was you, I'm Sean, Sebastian best mate," Sean smiled.

"Oh yes, I knew I knew you. Hi, how are you?" I asked taking a seat at a table.

"Good, and you?" He asked sitting across from me.

"Great, I'm waiting for my friend to get off of work," I said taking a sip of my coffee.

"I saw you talking to Aidan, you know him?" Sean asked. Probably wondering why the girl who is talking to his boy, talking to someone else.

"Yeah, I know him from college," I said rolling my eyes, "but don't worry about it, he was left in the past when I give up on waiting for him."

"Hmm, ok," Sean smiled pulling out his phone to check it, "Sebastian told me about y'all little date."

"Really?" I blushed looking out the window, tomorrow is suppose to be my date with Sebastian.

"Usually you're not the girl he will usually go for, but he decided to switch it up and I think he actually likes you. He's always talking about you whether I want to hear it or not, but by the way he talks about you, you seem like a wonderful person and I hate to say this to you, but if you hurt my boy.... Am I embarrassing you?" Sean said when he saw my cheek getting redder and redder.

"You think he likes me?" I blushed harder.

"You're cute, I need to find a girl like you. You're easy to talk too," Sean said and I smiled.

"You don't have to worry about me hurting him because I'm incapable of doing that, specially to someone who looks like him," I said playing with my fingers.

"Innocently blunt, is exactly what he described you and I definitely see that."

"Is that a good thing or bad thing?"

"He likes that about you and he always like your smile, say it's very contagious," Sean said.

"Is he gonna be mad that you'll telling me all of this?" I smiled leaning on the table. I don't know if Sean is trying to test me or feel me out. Making sure that I'm not taking advantage of his friend and I don't mind because even Madeline did that to Sebastian.

"Embarrassed actually, but that's my duty as his friend to do that," Sean said, "I should get going, but for taking up your time do you want anymore coffee, my treat?"

"Uhm, no I'm good," I said seeing Madeline walking into the coffee shop, "my friend is actually here."

"Hey girl!" Madeline mumbled dreadfully giving me a side huge, looking like she had a ruff day. Madeline look over at Sean and start doing the I know you stare, "aren't you Sebastian friend?"

"I see someone remember me, I'm Sean," He said smiling at Madeline.

"Madeline. You and Sebastian look a lot a like," Madeline said leaning on the table towards Sean.

"Not you too..." Sean sighed and I smiled, the two have some similarities like the brown hair and hazel eyes, but Sebastian is taller than Sean and Sean has more of a baby face than Sebastian, plus Sean's skin tone is paler than Sebastian.

"Sorry!" Madeline giggled and Sean rolled his eyes.

"Anyways, I'm about to head out so y'all can have y'all girls time," Sean said standing up, "Nice chatting with you two and hope you have a good rest of your day."

"You too, bye!" I said.

"You're cute by the way!" Madeline said taking his seat looking over at him.

"Back at you, see you ladies later," Sean winked before finding his way out the coffee shop.

"It seems that y'all had a nice talk," Madeline smirked.

"Yeah, but it seems to me you need to get something off your chest. Did something happen at work?"

"Bitch, let me tell you..."
