Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

During the creation of his suit, he watched the three bugged people to ensure they weren't coming to see him. In addition, he placed another bug right under the door so he could prepare for anyone who decided to come in. After the suit was complete, he experimented with the hydraulics, getting a feel for the mech.

'Time for some justice.' Salem began walking to the door, determined to make Cole pay for the way he treated the people in the warehouse.

Opting for stealth, Salem quietly opened the door, glancing arould and sending one bug in both directions down the hallway. Finding no one but a guard to his left, he came up with an idea.

'What if I transformed my nanobots while they're active instead of recycling them and creating a new thing?' Testing it out on the guard he turned a bug into a mini spring-powered guillotine, beheading the man. Pushing away the sickness coming from his first kill, Salem moved towards the warehouse.

Ignoring the notification, Salem dropped two bugs which scuttled beneath the massive warehouse doors to scout out the area. What he saw sickened him more than killing his first person. As he watched, the men in charge of keeping the slaves under control each began violating the female of their choice. An anger began building in Salem. Not a hot-blooded impusive flame. Oh no. It was cold and calculating. Salem sent a bunch of bugs around with the command to locate the necks of each of the men. Glancing at his psyche bar, he began beheading them. Every beheading costed about 10 PP. (psyche points.) There were a total of 27 bad guys in the warehouse at that time.

212/680 psyche remains.

'Looks like the cost of building my mech hasn't been completely recovered' Salem thought, pulling open the doors with his incredibly strong mech.

It felt a lot worse, seeing the state of these people in person. With Eyes of the Machinist, it was like watching TV; you could watch it and forget about it. But in person, it was another story. As he entered he saw young girls and older women, both groups with torn clothes, bruises on their wrists, necks, faces, waists, breasts, butts, scratched, and covered in lesions. Using Eyes of the Machinist, he had focused on the men in the warehouse, ignoring the state of the slaves. Now, as he walked in, he saw their despair, their hopelessness, and their sorrow morph into the beginnings of hope. He walked towards where Cole and his most trusted subordinate was. As he passed, the slaves' heads turned to watch him. With every step he took, the weight of their growing hope felt heavier on his shoulders. Reaching the door, he sent out a bug to see what was going on inside. What he saw made his blood run cold.
