Chapter 4 - Investigation Room

The investigation room was dark, save for a bright light shining down on a big table in the middle. Books lined the shelves and potion bottles and spell books were scattered on a far table. The room currently had a pungent and raw smell of meat which came from a few grocery boxes in the middle of the room.

In the investigation room, the Prince and the two siblings stood around a crate box with a grocery store logo on it. The documents that the men of this shipment carried had information on which items were cursed and where they came from. The odor coming from the box was so strong that the crazy siblings couldn't help but plug their nose with their hands. The Prince recovered a mask from a box and covered his face as he assessed the documents again, matching them with the right box.

"Ewwww, it smells like Fariq's ass," Khorasa said as she scooted away from Fariq.

"What the- what you say?" Fariq fumed as he pulled Khorasa's hair bun.

Her head whipped towards her brother who was red in the face in anger.

"Boy, if you mess my hair up, I mess your face," Khorasa threatened cracking her knuckles.

"If you mess my-," Fariq started before being cut off.

"Knees," the Prince said, still looking at the documents.

Khorasa and Fariq shut up quickly and covered their knees, afraid of what the Prince might try to pull this time.

"These boxes have human dismemberments that have some sort of carvings encoded with black magic. The reason for these shipments and who is in charge in being taken care of by the Second Division knights. I entrust you two to encode and disable the carvings, as well as record what type of black magic is being used. I expect a full report in two days by nightfall," the Prince announced checking the boxes.

"Your highness, we will make sure to fulfill this task by the time allotted. Pardon me for asking, but why assign Second Division Knights on something that is so widespread and involves black magic, when you could have used more of the First Division members," Fariq inquired.

The crazy duo straighten up, alert and more focused now, contrary to how they were just a moment ago. The Prince tried to hide a laugh as he opened the boxes for the twins to see. Masks popped onto their faces in seconds as they got into detective mode.

"23 arms, and 15 feet." Khorasa scanned thoroughly as she tossed cursed human parts into one pile and ordinary parts into another.

"The First Division is already working on decoding the magic traces and removing it from the cities to prevent the spread of influence on people in the nearby cities. I have sent some spies undercover working in secret locations where the shipments are being made, and have others working on investigating," the Prince explained as he watched the two work and listen at the same time.

"Damn, I haven't seen this type of marking before. This isn't sent from Sabrina, that's for sure. It's too complicated for her to follow but it's weird how her documents held the same type of markings that are on these body parts," Khorasa noted as she traced over the marks.

"Send me the documents back once you have things sorted out here."

The Prince whipped off the mask as he left the room to the two siblings to investigate.

"Yessir!" they both shouted after him as he exited.

The Prince nodded and walked off briskly. He felt it starting to affect him again. He needed to get to his office. Everyone scurried or hurried to the other side of the hall, to make way for the Prince. He passed marble columns counting slowly as he prayed he wouldn't transform in the middle of the hallway. His robes rustled behind him and his aura turned immense as his anger started to grow at his shaking hands.

'Shit, not now. Just a few more corridors left.' He felt the breeze coming through from the outside. It was soon going to be sunset and he needed to take his suppressants. His purple eyes turned ever-so colder as he blazed through scurrying people who were finishing up their work in the hallways.

'Why is this place so damn big?' he started to sweat as he felt the trembles in his body.

His back started to ache and he felt himself start to hunch over. His muscles started to cramp and contract. Sharp jolts shook his body and he felt his bones starting to crush themselves into each other.

'Suppressants, just a bit more Calaf.' He kept reassuring himself as he clenched his teeth. His back started to fold in on itself. Luckily, there were no people there to watch the scene unfold.

'Fuck, I probably look like a twerking donkey at this point,' Calaf punched a wall on the side as he waited in the shadows of a deserted hallway. His back started to recede but he held in the pain and walked a few more steps until he saw the big golden doors come into view. The guards stood still awaiting his arrival. Without looking at them he swished his doors open praying his ass didn't start to flap in the air.

He waved the doors closed and leaned against the wall. It started to shock him more now, that he tried to keep the trembles in. Shocks of pain streamed into his body as he started to convulse and his veins started to blacken. His suppressants were too far in the back for him to reach as he gripped a nearby sofa.

'Shit.'

POP.
