"About getting more power?" Rose asked, her voice coming from his right side now.
"Yeah. What's the most sufficient way?" He asked her, adjusting his scarf.
"If you don't get caught, humans. There are more humans than demons, and their easier too find. However, if you find a nest of demons that would be far more efficient as they have more spiritual powers. Would you even be okay with eating people?" Rose asked, appearing in the cover of an alley shadow.
"We need to get you some clothes. But I think I'd be fine with eating people in all honesty." Rose froze staring at him while Isha kept walking, before stopping to look at her.
"Are you serious? Do you have a couple screws loose?" Rose stared at him dumbfounded. "You must be mental if your already okay with it."
"Didn't you try to eat me?" Isha replied to her, picking her up so they can keep walking. Rose disappeared and reappeared onto his shoulders.
"If you're going to carry me do it right. And that was different. I was… it's none of your business. And I've been a demon for a bit now, you're not even a demon yet." She looked down at him.
"Well, I've got to face the facts. Not really any point in trying to prevent it if I want to get stronger quickly. Especially if I get noticed by Catholics…." Isha let out a sigh. He had to face the facts at some point. He'd rather it be sooner than later.
"You really don't like Catholics…. But are you seriously okay with eating someone? I'm worried you'll get addicted… Even then, how can you easily throwaway your humanity like that?" She rested her head on his hair.
"I may not like them… But there's also the fact at how strong Mr. Ilan is. I have to be at least able to take down someone like him. I'll ask him to train me tomorrow more than likely. I'm not a hundred percent sure if I'm okay with eating someone… I haven't done it yet… but I don't mind toying with the thought. So, we'll only know when I go to try. " Isha paused for a bit, staring at the moon as it sat in the sky.
"As for throwing away my humanity. To be honest, the old man, May, and you are really the only ones who actually talk to me as a human. And you tried to eat me. Honestly, I don't see any value in being a human." He looked up at Rose and smiled softly to her.
"If you say so." She poked his cheek. "So, how'll we find out? Whether you're able to eat human or not." Isha resumed walking. As he was about to say something, he heard footsteps from an alley they were passing.
"Hey Isha! So you got another little girl huh you pervert?" Hank revealed himself from the alleyway shadow.
"I think I found out." Isha replied to Rose's question. Rose smiled nervously at him as he took her off his shoulders.
"What the hell did you tell her?" Hank puffed his chest out, clenching his fists.
"Listen. Hank. I think you want to leave." Isha informed him, staying relaxed.
"Why would I do that? You made a fool out of me last time. I'm going to teach you a lesson." He growled, getting closer.
"Didn't you try that last time Hank? If you want to live, I recommend you turn away." Isha stated as Rose watched from a short bit away.
"Threatening me huh? Well we'll see about that." Hank went to swing at him at full force. Isha hit Hanks elbow, resulting in his bicep being faster than what his forearm was able to catch up with. With a wet snap, his forearm snapped off the elbow, hanging on by a bit of flesh and muscle.
"Wh-what the… What are you?!" Hank cradled his arm as blood came from it, stumbling further into the alleyway. Isha didn't really feel much from seeing the blood or feeling the snap of his elbow.
"I'm impressed your not screaming…" Rose watched with an interested face.
"I warned you Hank. You should have listened." Isha smiled a little. "Hey, remember when we met and you threatened if I got close to Zoey you'd kill me? As if I wanted to be near her anyway." Hank looked at Isha and was about to say something. "No no, not a word. Let's just call this an ironic end yeah?"
Hank widened his eyes, opening his mouth to yell as Isha kicked him straight in the chest as hard as he could, sending the man about ten feet awake. As Isha got up to him, he was panting heavily, having been knocked out.
"Huh. You broke his chest bones." Rose stated, kneeling down and feeling where Isha kicked. "Do you think you can finish him off? We're pretty deep in the alley way now."
"Yeah. I think I can." Isha nodded, standing over Hank. This was a man who dehumanized Isha, convincing others around him to do the same. Isha knelt over him. "I kinda wish he were awake, but maybe this is better for a first time?" Isha questioned himself. He started to feel a little queasy.
"It probably is, since it's not like he's threatening your life. Well currently anyways." Rose nodded as she responded to him. "I'm not killing him though. So in case you thought about asking me, it's a no. His blood is on your hands."
Isha slowly nodded, putting his hands around Hank's head. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths as the queasy feeling grew. Rose watched, staying silent.
"O-on three right?" Isha said to himself, trying to make it easier. "One…. T-two…. Three!" And with that he forced his hands to twist, a loud snap being heard from Hanks neck as Isha let go, panting heavily.
An adrenaline rush hit Isha as his blood ran cold. He began to breath heavily, trying to calm himself. He just took a human life. What bothered Isha the most is that he felt the crack. He felt a pat on his back and looked up to see Rose gently patting his back.
"It's okay. You're doing a lot better than when I made my first kill." She tried to soothe him, giving him a hug. Soon Isha was able to catch his breath and nodded, hugging her back.
"I should have picked a stranger… Whether I hated him or not, I think it made it worse…" Rose nodded to Isha's words.
"Can you handle eating him?" She asked, stepping back from him.
"Like… raw?" Isha looked from Rose to Hank's lifeless body. Rose nodded.
"If you don't consume at least his heart within an hour, his soul will leave the body." Isha nodded slowly at Rose.
"Then… I have too don't I…" He slowly made his way to Hank, taking the corpses shirt off. His blood began to go cold again, but he forced himself to continue. "How do I… Cut into him?" He asked Rose, his voice a bit shaky.
"Usually your nails or your teeth… but I'd recommend you use a tool. It'll be less… traumatic for you." Isha nodded again, remembering that Hank always carried a knife to look cool. He dug the knife from Hank's pocket and flipped it open. His breathing got heavier as he put the knife to Hank's now bare chest.
"I-I have to do this… D-don't be wasteful…" His hands got shakier as he gulped, Rose watching as the knife pierced into Hank. Isha closed his eyes tightly the moment blood came fourth, proceeding to pull the blade downward.
Then Isha felt the warm liquid on his hand, and the stench of blood filled his nose. He suddenly got away from the body and began to puke up everything he ate for dinner, his sunglasses falling off. When he was finished he stumbled back and fell down panting.
"There there Isha, it's okay. You don't have to continue." Rose rubbed his back gently with her tiny hands, doing her best to comfort him. Isha nodded his head, looking back at Hank's bleeding corpse.
"Yes… I do. I took his life for this reason… I'm not going to waste it. Whether… whether I hated him or not." Isha forced himself back to the body and delved his hands into the chest cavity. Going past the lungs, Isha found the heart, gripping it. As he did so he felt it beat.
Isha jumped back in fright as he tore the heart out with. He stared at the heart and felt like he'd puke again as he forced it to his mouth, closing his eyes as his teeth sank into the still warm organ. Isha froze for a bit before starting to quickly eat it.
"This… it taste delicious…" Isha's red eyes started to glow as his hair stood up a bit.
"This is what I was worried about…" Rose muttered aloud as Isha went to get more. However before he could, Rose kicked him in the face, knocking sense back into him as he had begun to eat a bit of Hank's arm..
"Wha- what happened... Why does this taste like this…?" He looked ad at Rose as tears began to fall. "I'm a human… eating another human… why does this taste like this!"
"See, I told you. Giving up you're humanity isn't that easy… You being a possessed… Like how salt and silver water taste rancid, human flesh tastes very good. And the purer the being, the better the flavor. You lost yourself for a moment due to your 'demonic side' craving for not only more flesh, but for more of the soul." Rose told him, patting his head. "If I weren't here and you did this, you'd have gone on a killing spree more likely than not…" She knelt beside him. "Are you going to eat more?" She asked him, tilting her head.
Isha shook his head, pulling his knees to his chest, trying not to get blood on him at the same time.
"Y-you said only the heart was needed r-right?" Rose nodded and rubbed his back again.
"The heart contains about seventy percent of the soul, so it's all you need. Here, I'll clean the blood off you." And with that she began to lick the blood clean off of Isha's hand's and face. Normally he'd probably yell at her or push her off, but right now? He just wanted the blood gone.
When she finished she gave him another hug.
"I'm going to take care of the corpse, so turn around." Isha nodded and did as told. He focused on a few bugs that were scurrying in front of him. If he killed one of those, he wouldn't feel any remorse. Why was another human any different?
"I'm a human…." He told himself, rocking back and forth as he held his legs to his chest. "That's right... It was necessary… I had no other choice…" He became quiet as he wrestled with his mind, holding his head.
"Okay. Let's head home." Rose got onto his shoulders and hugged his head. Isha nodded and got up, not even glancing to see what remains were left as they headed out of the alley. Looking down Isha discovered he still had Hank's knife, gripping tightly onto it.
"Rose… Mr. Ilan and May…" She nuzzled the top of Isha's head.
"My lips are sealed." She pulled his scarf up for him. "And no worries, the rest of his body shouldn't be discovered for a bit. I hid it." Isha nodded and squeezed her calf with his free hand, putting the knife into his pocket. And with that, they made their way home.
"What a meal." A voice whispered from somewhere, Isha couldn't tell where from, but he didn't like it.
